The store looked clean, and some areas are organized while other areas were a mess. Pricing: The prices can vary depending on what kind of item you are looking to purchase. Some items are bit overpriced for no reason at all. Items: They have all sorts of items from Funko pops, plushies, video games, hot wheels, Pokemon cards, and etc. The staff: They do not know where the items come from and say that people just sell them anything. When you ask them about selling a toy to them, they give you mixed information. One staff member said to contact them on Facebook on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Another staff member said to contact them on Instagram on Monday and Thursday. When you ask them if it would be cash or store credit they say either is fine. They also do not guarantee that your item can be sold to them even though they say that they buy anything and everything. Overall: The staff members should be knowledgeable about their store and the items they buy and sell. This store is good if you want to buy something once or twice but not all time due to the high pricing for some items.

When it becomes okay for you to loose a customer it means you are ungrateful and not good for the future of your business. Without customers you have nothing! I have been a customer here for 20 years. There are 3 customer service clerks, one of which is the owner. He works once in a while and when one of the other two guys is on vacation. He is the rudest and least helpful of all the men working there and he has an attitude that says 'screw u customer'. One day over the past month, I paid my money and went in and was sitting in a booth. About 20 mn later the light went on in the place and suddenly there were a bunch of guys + the owner bringing new benches and chairs into the theater room. I was in the booth with the door locked, but after 20 min of the non stop noise created by the moving and installation of 'new' chairs and benches, I walked out of the booth and said wtf is going on here. The owner immediately flipped at me and said he would just be a few more minutes. 25 min later I came out of the booth again and asked him for a refund. He got down right nasty with me. I said, if you were going to shut the theater down to do some work you should have told me when I paid you to enter and I would have not paid you, not gone in and come back another time. I reminded him that I am a customer there 20 years if not more. He didn't seem to care and pulled out of his pocket a damp 10.00 bill and gave it to me and told me NEXT TIME don't come here. FY u asshole. A few days later, I came there during the day when he wasn't there, paid, went in and not totally to my surprise, the benches and other chairs he had tried to install were all gone. It appears the benches he was trying to install there were to high and so they pulled them out. I stayed there about 20 min and then left. A week later I went back at night and the owner was on 'duty' and he had the balls to tell me he will let me in but he doesn't want me to be a problem. And if I am going to be a problem, then don't go in. I responded by telling him that I am going to file a report with the human right commission and claim discrimination against the place. I have an appointment to discuss the incident with the HRC in late September. As of today, I have not returned to Sunset Video and will not until perhaps such a time comes that I might, but at the moment they lose 10.00 per day x's an average of 4 days per week. They don't really care.

I visited this location yesterday to purchase a gaming giftcard and again, one of the white girls who "assisted" me seemed rude with her side comments and judgement towards me and the type of card I chose to purchase. Like wtf?! Why do you think, as an employee in a GameStop that you can try to make people feel like less of a person due to their preferences and possibe age? I guess you're the leader of all the giftcards and games in the land?? As a middle aged man, even if I want to play a Hello Kitty or Barbie game that's my business and I'm not hurting anyone. One of the other young ladies who continued to assist me was nicer to me and provided amazing customer service. She understands that GS is a place of business. Even before I visited store this same young lady who I spoke with over the phone to inquire about my potential purchase availability, was super friendly. As for the rude girl who thinks she's too cool for GameStop, you realize many GameStop's are shutting down right? Maybe that's why you're so rude but understand that regardless of what you do for work in the future that professionalism is vital. You're not better than anyone because you're young, female and white. I'm stupid though for thinking I could visit one of these stores and have a positive experience. I need to remind myself to only shop online and when these big name stores get shutdown I'll be in the front row with popcorn laughing loud and hard not caring at all about silly lil employees who choose to be rude to feel better about themselves when they lose their jobs!

Even more impressive is that this Gamestop is now the only remaining location in Edison after corporate closed the Wick Plaza store along with 80+ other Gamestop stores this past year. When the store isn't busy, the store associate at the cash register will always ask if you need help finding something. And when you check out, you will always be asked for your loyalty account (via phone number) and be upsold on a Gamestop Pro subscription ($25) if you don't have one. The store associates themselves are also gamers and generally knowledgeable about new releases and gaming news, if you enjoy prolonging your store experience with small talk. This a very small store, possibly the smallest Gamestop I have ever been to, so its inventory is also appropriately small. As at other Gamestop locations, what used to be mostly shelves of games and gaming accessories has now become racks of T-shirts, walls of Funko pops, and piles of unsellable plushies and clearance knickknacks. At this point, over half of store space is dedicated to non-console merch, which is great if you're shopping for novelty items. Considering how almost all newer games have digital releases now, the only reason I ever come to this store is to buy gift cards or to browse FiGPiNs. (The Box Lunch that opened a few years ago across the breezeway has a larger inventory if you want anime-specific merch.) Regarding the complaints from the one-review Yelpers here about Gamestop paying almost nothing to buy your pre-owned games and consoles, that isn't new or specific to this location and has been every Gamestop's trade-in policy for over a decade now. There are so many other ways to buy or sell those things in 2024 that if you decide to do either at Gamestop, that's on you.
