Nice location for this gamestop on atlantic Avenue. Very clean spacious spot. Ig you are into action figures and status etc. This is the location for you. I was surprise to see the low reviews. I went to the store, had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I even found a Chase Funko Pop and they were surprised. hehe It was waiting for me. Thank you Jesus! :) All the best to these guys who are doing something right. Of the 3 GameStop locations nearest to my home and in walking distance, this is by far the largest location in the group. Back when I was still pushing my now 3 year old in a stroller, this was my preferred location because it was in the shopping plaza directly opposite Stop & Shop and it was a big enough store that I could comfortable navigate the floor with my sizeable stroller and wait on line without blocking anyone. The employees at this location are the most professional of the 3 as I've never come in to hear anyone having an inappropriate or private conversation on the actual sales floor. They are usually stocked with whatever game my husband has sent me on a mission to retrieve and occasionally when I'm looking for a game to play they tend to have it. Also the employees I've encountered actually do know something about video games which is a plus for me as it is no longer a hiring requirement that you be a gamer. Now they just want people who can push their used goods on to unsuspecting people who don't know any better. Overall, I will continue to shop here first before I go to the other two locations nearest me. read more

I am someone who still enjoys physically going to the store and buying a game. I truly love now going to this gamestop. This store makes me feel like I am dealing with Specialists who are passionate about their trade. You can always have a quick enjoyable chat about the purchase with Mat, He is great with telling you about upcoming games, etc, that you won't get buying your game online or at a big box. This Store is a great representative of what GameStop is trying to put forward. They are absolutely phenomenal. Emelly recommended me the best selection of games that I could enjoy while keeping my budget intact and also she shared her knowledge on said games. Both Mat and Emelly are extremely friendly and make this store feel like a warm place to meet up with friends than simply a store. I don't like the way they do customer service here don't get me wrong the girl that helped me out was very kind and sweet I forgot her name it was C something she had fair skin light brown wavy curlyish hair and glasses on it was Tuesday around 1ish she talked to me and let me know the sales and prices of all the switches if I was rating her she'd get 5 stars but once I went up to the register the guy kept on trying to get me to pay to be a member after I already said no twice then he kept on telling me about warranty I said no there's no point and he said yeah there is because of xy and z I told him no it's only for 1 yr and my son is good with his stuff and the bags r all 1$ not even paper bags for .5 cents it's just too ridiculous to pay for a 300$ console and them to try and get more money out of you I'd like to cone back but without all the questions it's just too much read more

Actually had an ok experience at this GameStop. I had called ahead for them to hold a game, and there it was in the condition described. Amazing! Other GameStops can learn from this one. GameStop always loses a star from me for all the upselling at the register. If I wanted a preorder, I'd ask you. Knock that crap off. read more

I called the store today 12/31/2020 at 10:30am to see if they had a item in stock, for my little cousin I promised him the item. And since it's New Year's Eve I wanted to give it to him today. They told me they had 1 in stock but to just buy it online and I could come pick it up with in a hour, I live a hour away and that was already 5 hours ago. I just called and they still have the item it's reserved now, but they said I can't come until I receive a email stating the order is ready. Why can't I just go and get the item. Horrible customer service. Bought a couple games there the other day, and the cashier rang one of them up for double the price on the sticker, and when I pointed that out, he said the price on the sticker was wrong. I also tried to take advantage of a sale they had, 4 $4.99 games for $10, but when I pointed out that the price he rang up didn't reflect that, he tried to tell me the sale was actually 4 games priced at $4.99 for $20. I pointed out that that, A) That isn't a sale, that would be the normal price, and B) That's not what the sign says. He tried to tell me that the sale didn't apply to these games, but his manager pointed out that they were in the right section and at the right price, so there's no reason it shouldn't apply. After 10 minutes of unsuccessfully trying to apply the sale, he tried to pressure me to buy the games at full price instead. This place is a total scam read more

Ive called now 7 times in the past week all in the morning-evening 11am-4pm no answer no pickup. I doubt the stores bust every hour of the day i just want to ask a simple question now i have to walk all the way over there to see if i can trade in my gaming system without the factory box. read more

I have been a loyal GameStop member for years today was my first time at this location and receive the worse customer service. Since when GameStop won't allow customers to trade in a game towards another game, this was told to me by the associate. My decision to go there because they had a game I needed for my switch after I left went home to play that game it was a damage item it won't start. I am truly very disappointed as a loyal customer to leave a store with a damage game I was truly excited to play for days. read more

Waiting on the line for 8 minutes while there 3 workers Standing by the registers.one standing there doing nothing , Second one taking care of one customer and the other chating with someone. When the customer was finished I was next then I ask for my item then the lady said Phone number? I reply no thanks I don't want to sign up now I have to go.then she said don't give me an attitude jeez.i paid then I grab the receipt from her hand,then she said wow you didn't have to scratch it from my hand.I didn't scratch it. I called at 10am and put an order on hold and was told to come and pick it up. Drove an hour away since i live in Jersey City. When i arrived we had actually went to a different GameStop thanks to a confusion of address and was told this was the GameStop i had called. When we called to verify the address the girl now said she never heard of us and told us our order was no longer available. Thanks Karina. Its a GameStop. Expect delays, expect wait time, expect to come out later then you expected if your coming during a game release. It's common sense people. The employees are friendly some need an attitude change but overall it's a local GameStop to me so convenience is key for me. This location isn't small but isnt huge and its near to a couple other good shops. read more

It's a 50 minute trek from my home to this Gamestop but I make the trip due to the selection and the service. I can't speak to visits on release days, because I don't normally go, but I can take a moment to write on the great people who work here and the most positive experience I've had so far. Karina and Chris were working today and spotted titles in my hand that they either played or wanted to play and engaged me in conversation. Afterwards, Karina gave me a heads up about a price drop in another title I was looking for and with Chris's suggestion ordered it in from another location. Being that I plan to keep that hard to find game in my library I let them know it was a concern for me to have it complete. They called several places just to make sure there was a copy with a case and manual, found one, ordered it and gathered my info to let me know the moment it came in. I've never had an associate offer me that service before and for that I plan to frequent this location more often. I feel like the staff here is knowledgeable and I am at ease when I leave with my purchases. Good people work here and I couldn't be happier about my experience. read more

These guys love ripping you off. this is the only place where you buy a new game and it doesn't have any plastic on it, which leads me to believe they sell you used games for the full price. Then, as you purchase whatever you're buying, they try to convince you to trade in your old games toward something new so they can make another $15-$20 off of your trade in. I saw these guys offer someone $65 dollars for a Vita so they can turn around and sell it and make over a hundred dollars profit. seriously, if you're gonna shop here, don't buy a single new game and don't trade in your games. You are better off building up your collection. read more
