Please be advised that I went to game stop on fort Meade rd on yesterday and was told that they would have PlayStation 5 in stock the next day so I told the cashier that I would be back in the morning. I went back to the store the next morning and the manager gonna tell me that they have none in stock. read more

Me: *thinking: does he really think 3 people are going to come in and buy Cooking Mama?* ummmm...yeah, sure...why not? FYI: it was for one of my friend's daughter's birthday gift and the party was to be held that night. I headed over to Gamestop to pickup my new copy and the guy points me to the "New" shelf and tells me to grab it off the shelf. I've been to Gamestop, EB Games, and Funco Land, which is now defuncto, and I know how the games from the "New" shelf work: you bring over the case, they peruse a drawer full of discs and put the "new" copy of the game in your "new" case. Btw, the "New" tag is ridiculously hard to peel off and ALWAYS leaves a sticky residue. Now, I don't hate this family and I actually care what they think of me, and bringing a "used" game that I claim to be "new" would've been unacceptable. So: Me: Do you have any NEW copies? GE: That is a new copy. Me: A NEW new copy. You know, one with the wrapping and that doesn't have your fingerprints on it? GE: This is a new copy. Me: Ugh~ Ok....well, you said you had 3 in stock. What about the other 2? GE: *pulls out the other 2 discs from the drawer* These are it. Me: Nevermind... GE: Would you like to reserve any games today? Madden, blahblahblahblahblah? Me: No thanks... GE: Are you sure? Me and my gf are so excited about playing *insert dorky video game name here* Me: *thinking: how do all these game store employees who smell like a hamster cage all have gfs?* ok, bye. GE: Have a nice day *goes back to playing whatever game he was playing* They do have an expansive collection of used games but make sure you bring plenty of Lysol cuz you have no idea where those discs and boxes have been. I actually like this Game Stop. We are in every few months and know most of the employees and several of them have good knowledge of the games across all the platforms and even some insight in the industry as a whole. The selection of used games is immense and if you don't see it they will track it down for you, even in other stores. Release your inner geek and have some fun. read more

This has become my go-to gamestop since abandoning the one i use to frequent. I like this one because the staff is not only professional, but they're knowledgeable, fun and GIVE YOU SPACE to breathe/shop in peace without a plethora of pretentiousness and forced engaging like i experienced at the gamestop i use to frequent often before becoming burned out by the smothering and BS. p.s. to the black guy at the Baltimore Avenue location, relax dude. Dominique is the best!! Highly recommend, very honest and definitely will help in any way possible! I ended up ordering a bundle online and took it to Columbia game stop, the guy Felix there switched out my set. Gave me one controller instead of two back, allowed me to purchase another game and a headset! It was allll screwed up! However my fiancée and I went to laurel and once we talked to dom about the issue, he handled it squared away! Within two weeks Corporate sent me a new ps4 with a new controller!! I don't understand why the rate is so low! I love this game stop, this is my go to game stop. Bad night? Go here, look through the games, talk to the staff, even play their demo's! They are so informative and nice. They're there for the customers, especially if you're a regular, which me&my dad (Jim S.) are. Every few months go in and buy something. Last thing that got bought, Resistance: Fall of Man, it was only 5 bucks cause it's so old. But Jessica found it for me right away. If I could give a -1 I would. Susan was so rude like how does one get mad cause you sold me a defective game. If you would of opened up the game like you did the second time you would have saw that big ring on the game. Then she proceeded to tell me I did it. Ok I was only gone from the store enough time to go home try the game then return it. Will not be coming back to this game stop. I don't know if Susan is racist or what but I did nothing to her to be treated with such disrespect. I just came to buy a game for my cousin but I felt like I was inconveniencing her buy spending my money. Oh well I am so glad their are a lot of other places to buy games. This store is an example why I'm frustrated with all brick and mortar game stores. I've gone in on release day to buy a game only to be greeted with the incredulous, "You mean you didn't pre-order? We don't have any unordered copies." If I have to wait then I might as well order it from Amazon then. Also, the clerks are forced to be super pushy with disc protection plans, DLC subscriptions, you name it. read more

A lot has changed since my last review of this GameStop...a lot of changes in management...The current crop of GS employees that work there are kind useless...they talk to you like you're stupid and they also make it seem like it is a chore to explain something to you and honestly I will not be back to shop here and I don't recommend at all..In my last review I called this same GS possibly the greatest GS in MD but now it's seriously gone down hill..I'll go out of my way to go to the on Dobbin Way or the one in the Mall. read more
