Great location and excellent customer service! Shopping at Best Buy always give nostalgic feels and take me back to a time when electronic stores or all the rage in the late 90s and early 2000s. As online shopping and competitors have shut down these big box type stores, I I find it great to see that Best Buy is still around in business. When it comes to electronics and big-ticket items, such as computers, appliances, TVs, etc.-- it's always good to be able to physically see, touch and "play around "with the products before purchasing. This is the best part of shopping at a Best Buy over online shopping, I had a fantastic experience at this Best Buy today thanks to Uzair. I was purchasing a MacBook and AppleTv. He was incredibly helpful throughout the process. Uzair was knowledgeable, patient, and went out of his way to ensure I made the best choice. He answered all my questions, provided useful recommendations, and made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. In all, great shopping experience at this location. The customer service and well stock inventory are standouts at the store for sure. Best Buy is great because it's a hybrid of the online and in-store shopping experience. Sometimes I just want to order something and have it delivered. Sometimes I need to see it, feel it, and touch it before making a purchase decision. I didn't see a salesperson on the floor so I walked to the checkout area and asked a person who appeared to be the cashier to help me. She immediately proceeded to find the item I was looking for. I gave her a picture of the online item and after some investigation on her part she found it. refund marked as manually processed for order purchased online never received. i thought i was saving time by returning the item here instead of waiting for refund by returning it via mail. my credit card company/bank says the process is automatic and there's nothing they can do. seeing the reviews i see why my 800 dollar refund is missing. Update manager refuse dto call corporate and ask for sales audit. Finally he called a number and pretended it was corporate. The person on the phone assured me the refund would just take 2 more days and then gave me his extension. I asked the store manager for the number to call back. On 12/16 my husband and I purchased an X Box and Hover board for a 6 year old who was temporarily staying with us. Tonight we go to our local Best Buy to return the items we purchased for him for Christmas (long story but he is no longer with us and it needed to be returned). We get an associate who informs us the returnable date was 1/13 and returns couldn't be accepted. Today is the 15th, certainly there is some flexibility. I ask for a manager understanding the associatemay ne limited on autonomy. Manager Conner happened to also be behind the desk and walks over. He says nothing but he does print out the receipt and tells us he can't do anything because "see... you have 14 days to return, and it's more tham 14 days". We explain to him it's only two days pass the return window, that we didn't know about the 14 days, we assumed we had 30 days (I know what assuming does but) and asked him if there was any flexibility. He says 'No' and again explains the days we had to return. We say the boxes are not even open, you are telling us there are no options for us. He said No options, but maybe you can go to the store your purchased it from and they may have other options. I told Conner that made no sense to me (as an FYI it's currently snowing and we live 3 minutes from this Laurel store) why would we travel 30 minutes and why would the other store be able to deviate from the policy and you can not. I stated if stores/managers can make customer service decisions he should be able to it there. I then ask, 'can managers make flexible customer service decisions. Conner says 'No'. I say, well why tell us to travel to the other store- 30 minuyes away- to be told the same thing you are telling us? Will they do something different? Conner again says "No." We asked, "Are there no other options for us? We have no need for these things (X Box and Hover board)? Do we just have to keep the items?" Conner says 'Yes'. I say that is unacceptable and ask for the Store manager because surely, he could not be the manager. He indicated he was in fact the store manager and there was nothing else that could be done. He offered a customer service number for complaints. After explaining my loyalty and disappointment in his responses, I take the number and leave. I call the 800 number immediately. After speaking with the representative and sharing what was shared in the store, I was informed I could in fact get a store credit because the items were not open. I immediately return to the store with the representative still on the phone. We speak with Conner. Conner tells the representative it is after the return date for the items and he is not able to provide a credit because it is not policy. The representative indicates "well she told me the items aren't open and if that is the case (which it was and Conner knew thwy were not open) the policy indicates a store credit could be done" Conner then insults my intelligence and says to me, "You know the store credit is for Best Buy only, you can't use it anywhere else." I look Conner in his eyes and said, isn't that how store credits work Conner? He then turns and proceeded with providing a store credit. I thanked the representative on the phone and disconnected the call. I ask Conner why was the store credit not offered only 10 minutes ago, he LIED and said he didn't know we wanted a store credit. What??? Huh??? We asked SEVERAL times if there were no options but for us to keep the gaming system and Hoverboard and you said "Yes". He then said well, that was my bad I should've offered it. Why would he not do that initially? Why would the original team member not offer it? Why was this such a difficult transaction? Conner was rude and treated me like I was trying to get something that was not rightfully mine to receive. He NEVER even tried to assist us with our return iasue. He was dismissive, rude, and demonstrated the worse customer service. If he is the leader of this store I think a different decision should be made. This was not how you maintain a long-standing customer. I could not understand why I would've been directed to go back to the store for help. Customer service from a store leader should be consistent. Conner was awful and I'm Livid about how I was unnecessarily treated. I purchased Apple Air Pods from here, and had Apple Care. Don't you know they sold me FAKE air pods. When I took them back to the store, they sent me to Apple, Apple said they were fake (That's the first I heard of it) so we take them back to Best Buy, who acts like I'm the scammer. So I leave, call customer service, they tell us to take them back to the store, the store again acts like I'm scammer. I call customer service from the store, and NOTHING! I leave with my fake air pods that don't work. This review is specifically related to Best Buy's Total Tech membership. It is an absolute farce!!! So DISAPPOINTING!!! The wait time is extremely LONG!!! I have waited over an hour and have even had the call dropped? I guess but then the rep did not bother to call me back. So back to square one I was forced to go. Before I signed up for this membership, I was informed that I would be refunded 100% if I cancelled within the first 60 days. I was never informed that if I used the plan during that time the full cost of that service would be deducted from my refund if I did cancel. Additionally, BB advertises that they will service all purchases regardless of where the item is purchased. This is true but what they fail to mention is that members will be charged or the visit less a mere 20% discount off the full price. PURE DECEPTION by Best Buy. So, imagine my surprise when I attempted to cancel my Total Tech membership today which began on Nov. 12, 2022 (so well within the 60-day window), I found that of my $199.99 I would only receive $47.00. After getting through Alan, a Total Tech rep who seemed to think he was a defensive tackle I wound up speaking with Diego, a supervisor I was told that I was now being charged for a HT service call which I was told would be at no charge, that that fee would now be deducted from my refund because I was cancelling in spite of a Zero-dollar receipt which I have in hand. Because The amount of that service call would have been $99.00, over $150.00 had been deducted from my refund, Diego gave me a case # and agreed to mail a check for an additional $53.00. Came here to buy an upright freezer. The one we were interested in was on display at this location, so we decided to take the 25 minute ride. This location was large and although it was well stocked with floor model items, there were not enough sales associates. When we decided on which one we would purchase, we cut around a corner and a sales associate appeared out of thin air! They weren't the most engaging, so glad we knew what we wanted to order. We paid, set up a delivery date and were done. Our freezer was delivered on the day and within the time we indicated. Although the delivery staff, were not employees of Best Buy, they were pleasant and professional in delivering our item. Most physical stores don't offer this phone service anymore but thankfully we had an awesome team member to help her. Went in there to ask about a warranty on my tv I have that is having issues . Than she said to bring in the tv so I drove all the way home to get it and come back and than they said that we can't bring it in and that they will come to the house. I have warranty. I have two kids with me and my husband was talking to someone and was waiting and I walked up to him and asked him what's happening and he said they said not to bring it in and I said the person said to bring it in and than the "manager there" was listening and joined in on the conversation and was yelling at me saying about the tv and she said that she helping someone and doesn't have time to argue with me and she the one who talked to me first cause I wasn't even talking to her. And than she threatened to kick me out the store and I have my two kids with me and it's cold and I told her I'm not going outside with the kids it's too coke for that . All of this necessitated a total of 3 visits to the store. Guess what it's 9:33pm and I'm still here as a result of all the trouble shooting required to understand why the product key was being rejected. We left the store long after it closed. I bought 3 large appliances in Nov 2022. When they installed my stove I was charged $155 for a permit and inspector. The company that installed my stove put the check through 12/3. In March I talked to an agent and was told they would get back to me. Later I went to the store and explained the problem to their GM Maria. She listened, said she understood and would call service can't call me. She fidn't but had a worker call, saying they put the permit through. I checked with PG and no permit was ever issued. I pulled it up on my phone and went back to the store and showed the acting mngr. He said he saw and would advise maria and she would call. Nothing. So far I have made 4 phone calls, talked to a supervisor Omar, who said he would make sure I would be sent a $ 155 visa gift card because they could not refund my money. No card ever arrived, so called customer service and put on hold for over an hour then the line was disconnected. I have since sent in 2 emails and nothing. They are scams and take money illegally ( steal). I have tried to find headquarters contact for VP of service or Customer service but can't. 11/10/2022 Order on-line a Samsung TV at a good price and an Open Box top tier Samsung Sound Bar HW-T450/AZ (Excellent Condition, per the site, only available in Laurel, MD, Excellent meaning has all parts and manuals). The Sound Bar had several options, Open Box only, and the one in Excellent Condition was in Laurel MD. I get the email saying PART of the order is ready, as I was out shopping for groceries, I head over to the Laurel, MD store which was near where I chose to shop. I get there and the young man in In-Store Pick up has the TV ready, says he'll go out and get the Sound Bar. After a bit he returns with the Sound Bar, power cord connected, and the subwoofer, power cord connected, and says that is all that comes with it. I explain it was supposed to have everything, he say that is everything, so I leave with it all. TV is fine, I install and set that up. Check on-line for the manual, and I see I was supposed to get brackets and screws, remote, optical and USB cables, and a manual with it, along with grommets. So I call the Customer Care number...I go through the hellish voice menu, and manage to quickly get a young man named Christian, who says he'll put in a request for the store to call me with in an hour. 1 hour, 20 minutes later, no call. I call the customer care number again, speak to Jorge. He says he can transfer me to the store. Click Click, ringing, I get answered by Fred. After describing the issue he says I'll have to go to the store to get the parts. So I ask him if he can go through the store and get the parts and call me...he says he is in the call center!!! Says he cannot get me to the store, and the local number I have been calling always goes to the call center. He says to resolve this, I must go to Laurel MD, a 40 minute drive, to get the parts. So I go there, speak to Roy (who says he is the manager, but is in a Geek Squad uniform, and acts like he hasn't a clue what I am talking about. When I finally get through to him what the issue is, he says they have NO other parts and all Open Box come like that, with only the electrons and no installation parts (which is counter the 3 tiers Open Box System shown me on the Best Buy site. Frustrated, I head home, and am going to return the sound bar system tomorrow at the local Bowie store, and buy a better sound bar, direct from Samsung. Best Buy has lost me. Every single encounter I had with an employee was unsatisfactory. Each one was not busy, the store was virtually empty of customers, and not one employee was willing to even look for a single item of the sound bars peripheral installation and usage items. That is entirely pathetic customer care. Even worse is the fact that the web site three tier Open Box levels was not even understood bt the employees! 1 Star, only because Yelp doesn't allow for ZERO stars. It was that bad. I phoned the store phone number and was transferred to an operator in South America who gave me an appointment at the Laurel Best Buy. The clerk told me my Dell laptop (which could not access the Internet) had a "software failure" and the repair would be $200 -- nothing cheaper. When he asked me to pay up front, the fine print said I was agreeing to an annual credit card charge of $200! I told him no; he said sign it and he would remove the annual. Instead, I flashed a pile of $20 bills at him (no credit card) and he deleted everything and re-entered a one-time repair of $150! When I told him the $200 was supposed to be his best price he refused to talk. Should have been a warning. When I went back three days later to pick up my laptop, the clerk (same fellow) told me they removed five VPNs. I told him no, the computer only had one -- but I discovered they removed it, plus two search engines, plus my anti-virus. The machine then worked but the shortcuts were all messed up. I secretly monitored the battery level before and after, and it revealed the computer was turned on less than ten minutes while there. The clerk's name is Roy Nelson. He lied to me repeatedly and I will not be returning. read more

Geek squad showed up without the equipment, because the store forgot to put that in the order. So the whole thing needed to be rescheduled, i went to the store for that, and its been 2 weeks, nothing scheduled at all, and they have my tv and stuff. I would have given this Laurel Best Buy Store two stars because the salesperson who helped us was really helpful and informative. But he's also the reason why I don't have my TV yet so back down to 1 star. More on that later. I purchased a Smart TV amongst other needed devices. I even opened a new credit line because I spent a grip. It was to my great disappointment that I found out in this new age of TVs that you no longer can buy a TV and put it in your car go home. Now it's a production. You cannot lie the TV flat for transportation because it's fragile and may risk cracking the screen so the TV would not fit upright in my sedan or SUV. This means I have to deal with Best Buy Delivery. I accepted the fate and scheduled a delivery which would deliver my TV a whole 7 days later. Sadden by this but resigned to my fate, I accepted I would not be watching Black Mirrors during the last of the holiday vacation. Delivery day arrives. I see a white non-descript truck sitting outside my house. I watch it all morning suspecting it might be the Best Buy truck but I'm unsure since it has "Enterprise Rental" on the front. I received no phone call. And since I am female, I do not to make a habit of knocking on strange trucks asking for TVs which is the only reason I did not approach the vehicle outside. The delivery window passes. No TV. I call and realized on the receipt that they inputed my phone number incorrectly. After placing 3 phone calls 20 minutes each, I was assured they would re-deliver by the customer service agent. By the 2nd and 3rd phone call, they said they can't re-deliver or give an ETA on when they would deliver again. I have to wait until the next day for a new delivery date. Which may or may not be Saturday or next week. I am really annoyed that the delivery drivers did not attempt to make the delivery. I was home! I was watching them. They didn't approach the house! Even if they had the wrong phone number, they could at least attempted to deliver it to my house. But no...now I am stuck in limbo and thinking about just canceling this whole thing and ordering it from Amazon like I wanted to do in the first place. But no...I wanted to be sure to actually purchase something from a brick and mortar store in 2017 because I wanted to stimulate the state economy...whelp. Lesson learned: If you buy a TV today in a store, don't expect it to use it until 7-14 days later unless you have access to flatbed pick-up or Semi. Shopping for a laptop and 3 employees standing around talking and on their phones watched me look for help. I eventually still bought the laptop though I wish I hadn't! The girl picked up her phone and began texting during the middle of the transaction, unbelievable!The greeter at the door could care less and had an attitude when asked to verify purchase and take off security device for the laptop. He was also busy on his phone and seems didn't really want to be bothered with work while at work.... go figure! Arnold really went the extra mile to assist me with making my selection, especially because I was going back in fourth on inch and brands Arnold who was kind, patience enough to share his knowledge on the various technologies. I must have spent somewhere around 2 hours walking around and asking several questions about different models. I even called a few friends to help me with making a decision along with arranging pick up options. Literally was standing near the phone desk trying to get assistant while he was helping three people and swamped and I counted six other employees standing around bullshitting and laughing having a great time. They could have sold me the I phone protective case, the Apple Watch protective casing, and also was looking for a solution for blue tooth wireless phone to car radio player... needless to say standing around for 20 minutes without even so much as "could I help you?" I left with all the products I picked up sitting on the counter. Maybe some investment on management of employees or customer service is needed within their HR department.
