There were 2 customers and one store associate in the store when I arrived. One customer was being rung up and left about a minute after I arrived. The remaining customer was talking to the store associate about some game or something. He wasn't making a purchase at the moment. Still as I walked to look at the displays near the cash register to be absolutely certain that I was seen - the store associate didn't acknowledge me. Not once. Not a hello, a nod, a I'll be with you in one second. Nothing. Oh well. I'll just go to Target now. This is close to my job so I was hoping that I wouldn't have to stop anywhere else. I don't blame them for shutting down but the problem is that not all locations were shut down but the higher-ups at Gamestop had completely bungled my pre-order. When they first shut down I attempted to call the customer support to find out what would happen to my preorder but their wait time was ridiculously long, I spent 8 hrs across three days on hold waiting to speak with someone. I also tried emailing but never got a response and they did not provide an option to leave a call back number so I had to spend the entire time with them on speaker while I waited. Once I finally spoke to someone they said they could not transfer my order to pick up at another store or just have it mailed to me and I was pretty much SOL until the Security location opens, whenever that will be. 2 days later I finally get a separate email from Gamestop addressing peoples pre-orders and essentially because I didn't finish making payments on my preorder then I might, extra emphasis on "might", receive another email from Gamestop with the option to receive the money I deposited in the form of a Gift Card and I can just order the product form their website. The problem with that is 1. At the time of writing this, its been 5 days and I still have not received that email and I have no idea if I will because again they said maybe I will get it and maybe I won't, and 2. even if I did get the gift card, the collector's edition is not available for online order. They also mention that I can try waiting until the Security location re-opens to get my pre-order but they cannot guarantee the collector's edition will be available.

My credit card was charged instantly and Abebooks informed me the books were shipped the next day. I received no confirmation of that. I called the company and they told me the books were still being processed. Needless to say, I was skeptical and I decided to do my research on the web and I came across this Yelp page. My head practically exploded and my heart sank thinking I lost such a large sum of money. I followed up two days later and they told me the book set would be shipped by the end of the day. I received no confirmation. I called the company the following day and the lady on the other end told me, "We don't have a shipping number for you right now because we use a 3rd party carrier, but you will have a number once the books get to your local post office." Oh. I wasn't sure how to respond. A few days passed and Abebooks finally sent me a confirmation email. The shipping number was to the DHL shipping company from what I saw, it was 4 days after 'Great Book Deals' sent them a receipt informing them that they should be expecting a package from them soon. I called up 'GBD' again asking them what the deal was. They told me, the books are shipping via ANOTHER carrier before reaching DHL before reaching my local post office. I was fuming. This had to be a joke. And I told Melissa, I believe that was her name, that when you look up her company's name, there's a 1-star rating everywhere. Yet, Abebooks gave them 4 stars - I will not be shopping from Abebooks ever again. She responded with, "Those are the 4-stars our company rightfully deserves." Excuse me miss, but it's been two weeks and my books were nowhere to be found and you were shipping something from Chicago, Il. to NY. That is outrageous. I ordered packages from overseas and received them in 4 days time, and two of those days were weekend dates! Yet, your company can't seem to provide me a working tracking number one and half weeks into the order date. I know I followed up with this company a lot but can you blame me? Given its history, I should have caught a flight down to their headquarters and pick up my books on the spot. The only reason I'm giving this company 2-stars is because my package actually made it to me. The package itself was practically opened and broken but, fortunately, I was a lucky customer who actually received my package. How silly is it that I have to give a company credit for getting its package to me. Let this be a warning, don't be tricked by the ratings on Amazon and Abebooks. This company is irresponsible, to say the least. Don't waste your time. Pay the extra bucks and order books elsewhere.
