This is not a review of GameStop. We all know GameStop is overpriced and they do not pay fairly for used games. This is a review of Jesus who was working at this location on the morning of 6/14.26 Dude clearly needed some additional staff but we all know that in the era of late stage capitalism corporate most likely won't give him that. He had a very long line but was working on a trade in. Some in line were getting angry and he was able to keep his calm and acknowledge them and ease the situation. Then there was a woman who was extremely rude and cut the long line and asked him a question en Espanol. Jesus responded en Espanol and again handled it with class. When it was finally our turn he not only was apologetic and kind - HE WAS HONEST. Dude could have played us but instead he helped us make the best decision on a product. We went to the mall to grab a few essentials and I wandered into the ground floor store. It was clean but there was a line. I waited patiently for my turn because there was one employee (Maria) who was doing it all. Maria welcomed people straggling in while helping out the people in front of me. She was ubiquitous kind and holding it down. Not only did she help me find the games I was looking for, she gave me a printout on the games and where I could locate them because that site didn't have them. I was impressed with her professionalism, dedication to a job that doesn't appreciate their employees and her warmth. She let's me know what's new and always helps me decide whether to buy in-store or order online for delivery to my house. All the product is very organized and easy to shop as well. Waited 40 min in line to buy a shirt. When I got to the cashier, I asked to price match with their own website. They checked the website and it had the lower price but they said it was online only. The difference was only $2 and they couldn't do it and said I'd have to buy it online. The site gives you the option to pick up and buy it at that price but it claimed it's sold out from this store so I couldn't buy for pickup on the site. Complete waste of time and I just left it. Came in here June 7 2024 and spent well over 500 dollars on games , controllers and even pre order the college football coming out tomorrow July 16 2024. Today July 15 2024 I call to ask what time tomorrow I'd be able to come get my game I pre purchase weeks ago . I remember the voice immediately as yall only have about 4 men that work in the whole store . So the man tells me how when yall get a box yall will open them and call people letting them know the game is in.. I'm kinda puzzled because what ? The point of pre order is to get it early .. early as in it's a priority that I paid for correct ? This location is really cool. Maria and Kevin always greet me when I get to the store and they do a good job running this location even though it gets busy often. The vibe is pretty cool with the collectibles and the employees here are great with handling trading cards for PSA grading. I love coming here and talking with the employees about games and collectibles. read more

I placed and paid for an order for items to pick up in store that day. Items that were in stock. I was told to wait for an email that the order was ready to pick up. The email never came. I tried called most of the next day could never get through. Finally went in, and sometime during that second day they had sold all their inventory of the major item. If they had attended to my order when they said they would, or answered the phone, I would have the item I paid for. The over-worked clerk was polite and sympathetic. Management needs to fix their system and maybe hire more people. Do not order from here. read more

Raman and Joss Helped me for over an hour (and waited on hold for that long with corporate) with an issue I had with my preorder of Cyberpunk 2077. They both even just called me when the person on the corporate line picked up so I wouldn't have to wait in the store the whole time. This is one of those times where I wish they would let you rate 0 stars. Let me tell you about our first experience here one Black Friday weekend. My son had been talking about going to GameStop to show me something cool he said the entire way there. He was so overjoyed that when we finally reached GameStop he literally skipped towards the open doors where he was met with a shove away from the door from one of the employees. He put his hands on my son, a child and rudely said "get in line!" I immediately went into mama bear mode & it took every bit of strength not to physically react. We hadn't noticed a line that was literally more than 10-15 feet away. A simple mistake. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He refused to get him for me. I gave him a piece of my mind in front of other employees.. this is NOT a child friendly location. I vowed not to return to this GameStop or any as a matter of fact. Best Buy has better deals anyway. However, about a day ago I strolled by the Same GameStop and wouldn't you know it, one of the employees that had been there when I told the man off was standing outside and sneered at me. I Love Gamestop, I wish I had a the newest consoles, a bit too pricey for me though :( I usually come in to Gamestop from time to time to see if they have any things on sale or used for a good price. The employees are usually very helpful, one of the employees helped me search all over the used games rack trying to help me find good games he recommended based on games that he liked himself. In my past experiences with GameStop, workers usually walk up to me asking if I needed any help. If there was an option for only 1 star, that's what I'd put here. The staff here is terrible. The lines are long and the people don't seem to know what they are doing. My kid paid a deposit to hold a new release of a character product. When she went to pick it up, 5 days after the release, she was told they were sold out and she was "out of luck". When I expressed that this was an unacceptable answer, one employee said he would track one down for her and call when it was in store for her to pick up. They never did any of this. When I called to follow up, they said the same thing and nothing ever came of it. Despite calls to the company and emails to the company the only thing they offered was a refund of the money. That's it. Stay away from this store. They are horrible. read more

Hector, Jocelyn the store manager is awesome. Ivan, Kobe, and Cindy has been great to me every time I come in to the store to buy or sell my games. I haven't gotten any bad service from them at all. If it were possible to give a lower score than one star then that's what this GameStop would get. I never had an issue with this particular location besides the lack of speed when it came to the associates getting through lines until my last visit last week. It was close to closing time and I was only stepping in to grab one of the advertisements to see if there was anything about the Nintendo Switch. I didn't want to bother trying to ask anyone that worked there, all I wanted was the ad and as I stepped in about to grab the ad, some girl that works there yells from across the store "We're closed now!" The mall closes at 9, it was 8:55 ish when I stepped in. If they are going to be rude about that type of thing maybe they should change their hours and actually close their doors if they don't want anyone coming inside. Their doors were wide open. After she yelled I said I was only grabbing an ad, making it real quick, and instead of saying something like "Oh okay, no problem" she proceeded to say "Okay well we are closed." Do people not know what it means to be polite? Ever had any customer service training? Maybe they do know, and that girl just missed the training day on ethics. So if anyone plans on shopping at that GameStop look out for the girl with the straight dark hair, you're best off asking someone else for help. read more

Jocelyn is amazing! Over the past few days I've been calling and getting help with my purchase. I reserved a 3DS XL at this location and hadn't received an update that it was ready to pick up, so I called the store and Jocelyn answered. She told me that the reason the system couldn't be picked up is because it had a parental lock on it. She offered to call nintendo to unlock it for me, and told me to call her back the next day. I did exactly that, and she told me that nintendo was unable to unlock it, but she would get her manager's help and call me back. Personally, I hate being the waiting end of a phone call, and I was worried that it would end up that I would never receive a call back and I would have to be the one to call...but that was not the case! Jocelyn called me back within a couple of hours and told me that she was able to unlock the system and that it was ready for me to pick up. I was unable to go that day so I went the next morning (today) and there it was, waiting for me! She even told me that someone had seen the system on the counter and wanted it, but she held onto it for me! I can't thank Jocelyn enough, this was an awesome experience. read more

The Assistant Manager can't help you either because he doesn't know why the app doesn't work. Save yourself the trouble and go to GamePlay @ 10937 Venice Blvd. Their titles are cheaper and their staff will "actually" help you with any issues you may have. read more
