Ruined a Christmas Gift & No Resolution Weeks Later I ordered an Xbox with a disc drive from GameStop for my son's Christmas gift. What arrived was an all-digital Xbox, in very banged-up condition, despite being listed as "very good." On Christmas morning, my son couldn't play the disc games Santa brought him. It was heartbreaking and completely avoidable. I contacted GameStop on 12/26 and was told I must ship the Xbox back before they would send the correct one, and that I could not exchange it in a physical store because online and retail are "not connected." Weeks later, I still have not received the return label they said was required to send it back. I had no choice but to purchase the correct console elsewhere so my child could actually use his gifts. This was a major failure in quality control, customer service, and basic accountability. I will never order from GameStop again and strongly recommend supporting a local, independently owned game store instead. read more

Customer service is extremely lacking here. I came in on a Friday, probably around 5/5:30pm, and got ZERO help from staff. I tried to make eye contact and flag someone down a few times for a screen protector for a Switch, and no acknowledgement whatsoever. I then bounced over to the Pokémon cards, and was trying to get an idea of pricing as some of the larger multipacks didn't have stickers, and again, ZERO help from staff. However, in terms of product availability, this one is larger than the store in Countryside Mall, so you definitely get more options at least for products. read more

Holy shit, I didn't think this place was as bad as some of the reviews but my god. 1. Hours are 10am-9pm place wasn't open until 11am. So I guess they don't mind losing an hour of sales. 2. They offer a grading service but don't have enough product for a customer to purchase such as penny sleeves. 3. There was 3 people working and it was just very awkward standing there waiting for them to find penny sleeves, one of them didn't even have a name tag so not sure if it was bring your friend to work day today or not. This is one of those where one star is generous. It's a bummer there isn't a zero star option. I pre ordered a game, was called on drop day to say they didn't have it. I received multiple additional calls to say it was still delayed over the next few days. I came in the following week and was told that because I didn't show up in the first 48 hours of release my copy was given away. No one could confirm it ever arrived, nor did they try. Lazy service. This store is located in the back of the Clearwater Mall's series of strip sections due east of Costco. It's the end unit. I was quickly greeted and asked if I needed some help. As it happens, I did. I was looking for a specific game and they did happen to have it. In an age of buying video games off the internet, it is satisfying to actually talk to a human about a game not just reading online reviews. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend GameStop if you want to buy a game immediately in a physical store and not wait for it to arrive via the internet. read more

I came in after a long day of work, purchased a user controller, got home, and found out it was not charging... this left me a little upset, but none the less I drove back. Paul was there to great me, and helped me out right away. I even asked to make sure that the new/ used controller would charge before I left, and of course he helped me out without an issue. Before writing this review, I had to stop and think: Are these guys really deserving of the one star rating? And I realized: I've never had a single genuinely pleasant experience there. Not all TERRIBLE experiences, sure, but far more negatives than positives. The staff - for whatever reason, as I've seen many turnovers since this location first started up years ago - are almost always either A) Incompetent; B) Uninformed; and / or C) Unhelpful. And unhelpful to the point of them often coming across as socially awkward and rude. Maybe it's because of the customers they have to deal with? But either way, it's totally unacceptable and leads me to openly groan at the prospect of having to go there over literally any other Gamestop. It's just not a fun time. They've forgotten to include my pre-order bonus to the point where I've had to return. They seem to avoid letting me know when I have money on account (for whatever pre-order I put money on and never picked up, for whatever reason). They often have a "holier-than-thou" attitude that is absolutely repugnant. And they're just generally unpleasant to deal with. This one time, the employee tried selling me on their ridiculous Gamestop credit card. I told him I wasn't interested, and yet he continued to pursue it like I was insane for not understanding what a great investment it would be. Seriously? Just sell me the game I came in for and stop trying to hawk your wares on me. I'm sure management makes things difficult for you and that you have to push things like pre-orders and whatnot, but come on. I'm not your target market for that nonsense. Every time I call them with a question, they're either ignorant (seemingly on purpose) or rude. A perfect example of this is comparing them to the Westfield Shopping Plaza Gamestop in Countryside. When I called that Gamestop asking if they had any idea concerning the rumors regarding a restock that day of hard-to-find Amiibo, they told me exactly which ones they knew were coming in, but didn't pretend to either A) have no idea; or B) pretend they knew x or y was coming in. They told me the honest truth, and I respect that. They're awesome! But when I called the Clearwater Mall Gamestop, they simply told me, "No idea, bro! We only stock the ones that sell!" (Really? Attitude and ignorance aside, last I checked, all of them sell. Not only that, they sell out. Almost immediately. Don't give me that.) Breaking away from the unpleasantness of the employee interactions, the interior is cluttered and ugly - the demo stands are almost always unusable, for whatever reason. There's no real cohesion with regard to the software placement - it's all just a mess of games and used peripherals. It's also very often FREEZING inside and doesn't particularly smell great either. So, yeah. Overall, needs some serious work. I think there was only one instance of management being super solid - this cool dude with a British(?) accent. But he's long since moved on to greener pastures, as evidenced by the drastic decrease in quality. Seriously, guys. Love your job, strive to be better, and you'll go places. But at the moment, you're simply disgruntled / ignorant retail workers working the clock until you finally get to go home and complain about "the idiots you have to service" to anyone who'll have the misfortune of listening to you rant. You're not making for a pleasant shopping environment / experience. Please step it up. read more

This store is absolutely awful. I had a completely ridiculous experience today. The associates are not knowledgeable whatsoever. Associate proceeded to tell me there was only a digital version of a game I wanted to buy as a gift, no physical copy. I trusted him and bought the digital. On my way out I decided to look at the shelf and confirm this. Turns out there was a physical version. I went to the counter to exchange and was told I cannot change it out as the digital sale is final. It's a no wonder this company's stock is crashing. They can't even treat customers properly, the only thing that could keep them in business. Needless to say, just stay away from this awful place. You'll be more knowledgeable after 2 minutes online. read more

Great people at this place. Very guy helpful. Would be a five star but had a bad experience with trading in some games once. The guy that day only wanted to give me 50 for the games, but went to another store and got 90. So it's all good. Haven't seen that dude since by the way. Hope he got fired. Other than that, this is my main gamestop and have since had top notch customer experience. Check them out! read more

I had a problem with connecting The sound from my playstation to my receiver for surround sound and was buying everything i could think of because I believed it was a software problem then I ran into ANDY at game stop who gave me playstation 3s history and a quick tip to reboot my system.sure enough.. problem solved.very knowledgeable and definitely recommend this store. read more

I usually go here to but my used games. One of the employees is knowledgeable, yet creepy, in a fun nerdy type way.

You can never go to GameStop without having an issue. Ever. Prepare to make more than one trip every time.
