This is a very nice B&N location with a B&N Starbucks cafe inside. It's Ginormous, like a big box warehouse style. It's very spacious, not intimate, like the little Tyrone location. This is a very lovely location, but moi prefers the "Book Nook" intimate location in Tyrone square. It's very small but it's also never crowded. Barnes and Noble experiences should be pretty straight forward anywhere you go, being a chain retailer. However I can honestly say that every time I've gone in to this location, it's been fantastic. Always staff available to help out, clean and never crowded. The staff at the cafe has also been great. Today we got Matty and he made a recommendation on some drinks which were both spectacular (and pretty I might add!) I've never ran into any issues with books being out of stock so I give them a 10/10 for always having what I need. Especially during the holidays! My only knock is price of the franchise merchandise (Harry Potter, stranger things etc). Prices are pretty high for what they are ($35 for a journal) but understood because that stuff is popular. Overall, besides going to a mom/pop book store, this Barnes and noble is pretty solid and a place I can count on. read more

so this Thursday, I went into the Barnes & Noble near me. I was looking for a self-help book. I was quite confused. There were several different sections: self improvement, psychology, transformation. There was not one individual organized self-help section, but 3 separate sections. I went to each of these different sections. they were right beside each other, I noticed that there seemed to be no organization of the books. They're not organized alphabetically by the name of the book and they're not organized alphabetically by the name of the author. after searching these three sections, , I finally went to the helpdesk and got a woman to help me. She found the book. But she had to check each section also. So I asked her, I might want another book and when I come back, how in the world will I be able to find it. There doesn't seem to be any organization here. this is when she informed me that They're actually organized by the subject matter. for instance, sexual problems, OCD, anger issues. However, there is not one single label or sign explaining this. nothing to tell you what subject matter you're looking at where one subject ends and where the next one begins. i asked her, as a customer, how do I know this with no signage. The other sections in the line in the bookstore aren't organized this way. They don't organize the murder mysteries by how each murder is committed; stabbing, shooting, strangulation. She explained to me that they don't put signs up because it might be embarrassing for the people looking for the books. for other people to know that they're looking for a book about an anger issue or a book on sexual problems. to me, this sounds completely stupid. Because I actually had to go find a person and tell her the exact title of the book that I wanted. now this is out loud. we're not passing notes to each other. It's out loud in front of other people at the information desk. But Barnes & Noble is concerned about me being embarrassed when I go to the section by myself and quietly try to pull the book off the shelf by my own because I might be standing in front of a sign that tells other customers what subject matter I'm interested in. I mean, you might as well organize the books by color, or size, at least that way if I knew what the book looked like I'd have a chance of finding it. But instead, Barnes & Noble's thought, hey let's make an impossible task for our customers to find books that might embarrass them on their own. We'll make them have to go seek out help to find them instead of finding embarrassing books on their own. Is that right? What in the world are you guys thinking because while books at Barnes & Noble's cost money, common sense there should be free. I'm not sure who's bonehead idea this was, but please rethink it. read more

This location has been a mainstay of the Sunset Point Shopping Center at the southwest corner of Sunset Point and US 19 N in Clearwater. My sense of nostalgia is definitely turned up to HIGH when I walk in. In a time when most printed word is accessible over the internet, I find it comforting to paw over the volumes of books at Barnes & Noble. Surprisingly, they have a very interesting section of toys and crafts. It's great to see their wall of magazines and periodicals. They still have a large section for music CDs in the back. Overall, the shelves were tidy and the store was as clean as a whistle. There's a Starbucks inside this store and that seems to be hub of activity. If you haven't been by the store in a while, you should. I hope that Barnes & Noble can withstand the current move toward online literary content. The place still smell great inside! read more

Stopped in here after shopping at the Hobby Lobby in the same plaza and found some great books. Their nature and wildlife selection is quite big at this store, so I got my boyfriend a salt water fish field guide, a book on reef aquariums, and two books with writing prompts for myself. This is one of the larger Barnes and Nobles I've been too as well, so the selection overall seemed much greater here. I could've spent hours browsing and definitely would have if I had more time. Just another reason to come back though, right? Also, if you're a book lover, pay for their membership. It has great perks, including additional savings on every purchase. Shame on me for letting my membership lapse; I spent $60 on all 4 books, so it would've been nice to still have those savings. read more

My review for the cafe is 5 stars. Starbucks Cafes in Barnes & Noble bookstores are the only places where I have found the most delicious cupcake of all time. Its made by the Cheesecake Factory, but surprisingly, you can't get it at the Cheesecake Factory restaurant. Its simply called the Cheesecake Factory chocolate cupcake, and it is absolutely incredible. I love cupcakes and I have tried 100s in my lifetime from very different kinds of shops. This chocolate cupcake blows all the rest out of the water. Its not even comparable. Its so rich, moist, and decadent. Absolutely incredible. My review for Barnes & Noble is also 5 stars. I don't actually go there for books. I go for board games and collectibles. I absolutely love board games and they have the best selection of unique and super cool board games I have ever seen. I also love to look at Harry Potter collectibles and items from other series that I enjoy. I love how Barnes & Noble stores are decorated. I feel very calm when I am walking around and shopping. I noticed a stark contrast when I went to Books-A-Million which isn't decorated in a relaxing way. read more

The bookstore is fine, but the café is not. We were there yesterday and some guy was doing a tick tock dance at the register while ordering for literally 20 minutes. Instead of moving him along like they should have the girls working there just stood there and giggled. Both of them, instead of doing something normal like opening the 2nd register so they could take care of customers. Finally we left, don't waste your time coming here, just go to the regular Starbucks around the corner. read more

This is only for the Cafe... Went in to get a Chai tea, my newest addiction. The husband was over at Tiger direct, so I popped in to get something cool and refreshing. The gentleman before me had a bit of a complicated (read large) food order, so I patiently waited my turn. When it came time, I stepped up, placed my order for my large iced chai, skin, no water, light ice. The barista made NO eye contact, didn't smile and basically looked as if she were being put upon. I get it. It's hard to make a drink that you pour out of two containers and don't even have to heat up. But a little friendliness goes a long way. *shrug* I've been a barista. I know the order could have been a lot worse. I could have ordered a double tall half calf mochalatte over ice, with double cream. But it was relatively simple. When dealing with the world, suck it up and smile. read more

I live within 10 minutes of the Tyrone location and always prefer to make the drive up to this one. It is massive, clean, has friendly staff and great drinks and desserts at the cafe. I'm knocking a star off because I feel like when I whip out my current list of books I'm looking for, I struggle to find a good amount of them in stock here. Even some of the more popular titles are sometimes just not available, and I could order them online, but I really love leaving a store with a massive collection of new books same day :) this is still a great place to shop. I love this B & N location. Seriously. It has a big, open floor plan (perfect for getting lost in) and plenty of store associates to help you find your next reading fix. They boast a generous discounted section which has a lot of quality titles for less than you'd expect. This is my favorite part of the store, and sometimes my husband has to drag me out of there or I won't leave. After you've purchased your literary treat, head over to the B & N Cafe. They have plenty of seating and the baristas are very friendly. They also serve Starbucks coffee, but they don't take Starbucks cards, so have your card or cash on hand. That being said, they make some quality drinks. It's worth not getting your Starbucks star, I promise. I know that chain stores are similar, but for me it's the vibe that makes them stand out. I feel really at home at this Barnes & Noble, and I'm happy to say it's my go-to for books and a cup of joe. read more

Great place, great location. The cafe has a lot of regulars who come to read or study so its like a little community where you see the same faces a lot, which is fun. Only negative comment I have is that the cafe only has one electrical outlet, literally one, not even two on one unit. So the regular bring power packs and extension cords to accommodate everyone using laptops and I've seen the management seriously come and pretty much kick people out for using it. One gentleman said he's written to corporate and sent photos but nothing was done. Its a little frustrating. Other than that the book selection is great, the coffee is great, nice selection of baked goods and paninis, friendly staff. read more

Starbucks for chillin' and old school books! I love it! There are times when I just need to get away from the madness! This is one of my corners of the world I use! First of all, I check the periodicals out! I'm a Triathlete. The US has a couple mags out but the U.K. is huge on Tri mags and guess who has the best of them? The top four UK Tri mags are on the wall for your perusal! I take them all over to the Starbucks concession, get me some good eats and an exotic ice tea, and decide which of these mags is going home with me. I also love to listen to the music played here. It's all selected by the people who man the CD/DVD section and reflects their faves. They do surprise me as most selections hit my vast tastes from Blues to Solo Cello performances. I almost always go to ask who they're playing IF I don't recognize the performers. Speaking of which, their DVD selection covers the catalogs of tastes. I always seem to find a fave Bergman film on DVD from 30 years ago, or a cult classic here. Personally, I've always found an obscure music book or a recently released book which will pique my interest! I also look at their bargain books to see if I can find a gem I've missed in the past. I do d/l books to my PC or smartphone but still...I've always been an old school print handler! There's something about reading from a "live" book! This latest time I visited, I also bough some unique birthday cards here as well. They have a limited selection of stationary and notecards as well. All are not your everyday "corp" selection. I miss going to book stores. In a past life we would go on a Friday or Saturday night when we lived Mass. It was a great way to unwind from four teenagers. Tonight we captured that same relaxing feeling here at Barnes & Noble. Very helpful and engaging employees. Starbucks coffee creations and yummy deserts. Quiet nooks to relax and read or interact with our devices. Only thing missing is live entertainment like a dulcimer or folk guitar. Now that would be perfect! read more

This isn't my favorite location, but when I'm in the area it'll do. The book selection is small and limited to best sellers, although they will order any book for you. This for me defeats the purpose because I go to the bookstore to look through a book before I buy. I may as well use amazon if I have to order the book. The seating is limited to the cafe. The contract Starbucks makes watered down versions of favorite Starbucks drinks. Baristas lack that Starbucks service flare and are kind of rude. They should really start calling the cafe something other than Starbucks because it's a disappointment. I still appreciate this place because bookstores are dying and it's holding on. There's nothing like the atmosphere in a bookstore...to chill out with coffee/tea and read a good book or concentrate on work or have an intellectual conversation with someone. read more

Always quite a book lover, I tend to stop in at this location almost every time I am in the neighborhood. They are a bit of a smaller store than some other locations, which means there is often a lesser amount of people inside. Lesser people means shorter checkout lines, which pleases me greatly. The only consistent bother I have with this store is the way the parking is set up, with the employees taking up the first few rows, which leads to quite a walk from the lot to the front door. I am able bodied and able to manage that, but I've observed older people have a more difficult time with this. read more

I have been meaning to stop for a while I pass it a lot. I rarely go to book stores anymore but I have always Ben a fan of Barnes and Noble for years. I try on vacation to go get a cup of Starbucks and did so this Presdients day weekend. I love the one in Santa Monica 3 stories still doing well. There is a need to touch and feel a book occasionally. I collect autographed hard copy books I couldn't find this one online. I asked the customer service person who was very pleasant and told me they had it and where to go. I thumbed through it with my coffee. It was a good buy. Too bad we are going paperless it is good for the green environment but almost reminds me of Ray Bradbury's book Farenheit 451. Glad we still have Barnes and Noble. read more

Really disappointed that a book that isn't even 2 years old yet is "not available in store because it's so old" per guest services, yet they have books on their shelves that are many years and decades old. Wouldn't have minded what she said, but it was more the way she said it. Just really poor customer service and very nasty attitude and personality. Before the infinite Dot-com, bookstores are sanctuaries for many bookworms like myself. I sat in a quiet corner and swam in the seas of adventures. In spite of the stormy technology revolution, a bookstore such as Barnes & Noble, at the twilight of its time, remains as a calm harbor for me. Instead of using 'one-click' on my e-device, I walk back and forth in between bookshelves, browse many covers till one title strikes out. Not enough B&N staff to help you, no electronic resources on site to pinpoint the book you search, it is a primitive experience for the millenniums who grew up in the convenience of one-click era. I spend hours there browsing, reading and pondering. There are many sections for readers of all ages. I especially like the children's book corner where the little ones can experience printed adventures non-digital style. When I am tired of searching, I carry handful books into the on-site Starbucks cafe and enjoy one chapter at a time accompanied by a large cup of rich cappuccino. I sometimes end up buying nothing, but still, I am pleasantly fulfilled by the quality time B&N has given me. I like the bookstore so much I registered as a B&N member. I paid an annual fee of 25 dollar and in return with 50 dollar coupon for the next purchase, 10% discount of all future purchasing in store and online with free shipping, and 10% book discount for my 3-year-old godson till he reaches 12. As said in 'Forrest Gump,' life was like a box of chocolate, you never know what you're gonna get.' That is exactly what I have felt when I am in Barnes & Noble, the unexpected journey with a person whose written story drags me into its drama. I am gonna enjoy the ride when it lasts. read more

Okay so I love this Barnes and Noble its my guilty pleasure before before work. I usually have my coffee a light breakfast sometimes I take lunch to go. This morning while I waited for my coffee I had a bag with me and put it on the table where I waited. The manager approached me and told me I had to basically get rid of it if I wanted to stay because they don't allow outside food, he was not very nice at all. I get they have rules because people probably bring in all kinds of weird crap but they only reason I was bringing in my bag because I didn't want to have yogurt soup when I got to work. This review is for the Cafe inside Barnes & Noble. I had never been here and decided to check it out because the seating area next to Starbucks was recommended as a study area. I must say that to my delight it was clean, cozy and although it is by no means a library, it is less noisy than your average starbucks. I make sure to bring my computer with full charge ao i can be here a good 2-3 hours (!?) without needing a power outlet. When i get hungry or thristy during studying, i can always order from Starbucks. I don't like the fact that they are tempting me so much with the different cheesecake options...but....i...must...be...strong. So now i have found my P.M. As Barnes and Noble is right across the street, it is our 'go to' bookstore. Although Amazon has cheaper prices, if a book has just come out that I am eager to read, I will gladly pay the extra charge in exchange for instant gratification. Lately, I've found more and more books have been read in the store, to the point that the book can no longer be categoried as "new". The spines have been broken, the cover doesn't lie flat, and occasionally I'll even find a dog-marked corner or even food stains on the pages. When I bring this to the notice of the management, I'm told that I can special order a new copy if I want, although it will take two weeks to arrive. When I ask about a discount for the *not* new book, I'm told that is not possible. I really can not believe that they expect to get full price for a damaged book. The cafe has a large amount of seating - perhaps twenty or so tables - and yet the area has only one power outlet. They expect and encourage people to bring their laptops in, for studying, writing, or whatnot, and even offer free wi-fi now, and yet they make it difficult unless you want to get there first thing or fight over the outlet. At checkout, the cashiers are very pushy with the B&N membership program - they ask if I have a card. When I say no, they ask if I want one. When I again say no, they say that I "could have saved XX" and ask me if I am sure. I wish they would stop (or be allowed to stop) pushing that program so hard. read more

I love the feeling of being around books. That is one thing that turned me away from the tablet readers for so long. Now I am split between the bound versions and the electronic versions. I enjoy the relaxing feeling of walking through the stacks and being around all the paper books. But I enjoy the portability of the electronic version. The Barnes and Noble store is always very clean, orderly, and a pleasure to visit. It adds a permanence to a changing world knowing that you can touch, feel, and browse through all kinds of different types of books. The store offers a café that allows the addition of a coffee and a pastry. I usually get a hot chocolate which adds a relaxing beverage with a relaxing visit. The good thing about Barnes and Noble is if you are using their reader you can bring it to the store and browse electronically as well. The café is a good place for this. The café is also usually full of people either review their choices or studying; sometimes you can see groups having a session, college or community event. This is good place to visit as well as buy a book. read more

Not bad, with a nice selection of discounted books and expansive food options at the bistro. We came here late on a Saturday night looking to browse through some reading material, knowing darn well it's more pricey than online, but I still ended up buying two books for my mom. I calculated that with the discount, the two books come out to about the same price as buying them for retail and shipping for free on Amazon Prime... before you add the price of shipping I'll pay to send them home. Long story short, even with a heavy discount, it's still more expensive than Amazon. Bring your iphone scanner and you'll see what I mean. However, looking for a random hardcover coffee table book for half the price? Look no further. I was disappointed to find that the Cafe, which basically advertises itself as a Starbucks, doesn't accept Starbucks cards. Also, the baristas looked really pissed that I was approaching the counter while they were doing other side work. I didn't end up buying anything. Although I do enjoy this Barnes and Noble, there have been a few times now where I have asked for a book and they didn't have it in stock. They did offer to order the book to the store within 3-5 days but I won't lie that it is frustrating that they mainly stick to best sellers. I have been a B&N member for a long time!!! I've always used them to buy my kids books as well as my own. They have a kids section in the back, small toy section, music, comics, and there is a Starbucks located inside if you're into SB. I personally use a Nook, which I love! I use their online to order my books and if I need to buy one that is not offered via Nook, delivery is free for members. My sons love to go there. The section for young readers is big, however they rarely have complete series available but will always order it for you. The teen section is even bigger and most series are available but again you can order through them if not available. For little ones there is a story-time on the weekends. From what I remember when mine were that little it's a great way to get them interested in reading and there are usually treats too, what kid doesn't love treats!! In the music section they offer all kinds of music and movies as well. To add to it they have added a record section. I feel old but love that I have that choice again. I normally hit up Haslam's in St. Pete but on occasion I'll meander into Barnes & Noble. I make it a priority to get here before any road trip because they have an extensive audiobook selection. Unfortunately, in the era of podcasts and efiles I have a hard time justifying the cost. The book selection is typical of any other Barnes & Noble and I've never had a problem finding a recent bestseller or something to fancy my interest. The one section of the store that blows other bookstores out of the water is their childrens' section. It isn't large, but the quality is there. I found a small portion of the pandering toys that other places have and instead found some feminist literature appropriate for boys and girls of all ages. They had biographies of powerful women, board books explaining that real princesses get muddy, fictitious writings based on the suffragists. I was impressed. The staff I have spoken to are kind and well read- they had a passion for reading and didn't seem to just stand around passing time. read more

This place always has a good selection of books in stock and the layout is well done. I think my favorite part about this place is that the cafe area is actually pretty large (and clean which is a double plus) and you can see people enjoy meeting up there to study, play chess or read. I've even heard interviews go on :) My only complaint is that they used to be the ones on top of keeping all their manga 1-XXXX volumes, but they seem to be missing a few here and there sometimes.
