I attended the Tame Impala Deadbeat listening party. At this event it was advertised that there would be a contest to win one of two signed test pressing of the record. During the listening portion of the event, I saw Jody walk over to a young man with his mother sitting near me and ask him to go outside. Through the window I saw Jody ask him to take out his raffle ticket and show her the number. Which he did. At this point I became very suspicious about what was going on. Why would the employee ask a customer for their thicket number to a raffle outside away from everyone? You can see in my text message to a friend of my concern for what I saw between Jody and man in green shirt outside looking at ticket stub . Upon the conclusion of the listening party they gathered up everyone to pull names out of a bucket to see the winning raffle ticket. **WATCH VIDEO** With my concern, I decided to video record Jody pulling the raffle ticket to make sure everything was legitimate. YOU CAN SEE CLEARLY IN THE VIDEO JODY PALMING THE WINNING TICKET. The young man in the green shirt won the record and quickly left the store before everyone else. Jody instantly stepped outside saying her car windows were down and she had to close them. I went outside and asked the young man and his mother why they rigged the raffle. The mother was adamant she and her son knew nothing about it and it didn't happen. To which I showed them the video and the mother replied she was not aware that happened. The young man simply stated he didn't know why she asked him for his ticket number outside. I then confronted Jody as she walked back into the store. She denied it happened. I made it very clear that I had video proof she committed fraud. She simply told me "okay. That's all I'm willing to say." I asked again for her to just please be honest as it was unfair to the dozen other people that gave up their time to attend this event thinking it was a fair contest. Jody looked at me and stated, "Yes, I did it." All I can say to anyone looking to shop here... if you value honest quality business I would think twice. What Jody did is fraud and subject to theft. With the value of this record being close to $2,000 to rig a raffle is criminal and she should be reported to the police. I'm sorry I have to write this...

Store is loaded with terrific merchandise. I am a Grateful Dead guy and I bought 5 albums and a couple of CDs. These were items I had never seen in other stores. The store itself is so much fun. Decorated to the max and every corner hides a treasure. D and J are lovely to deal with and accommodating. They offer to order things and send to you and go out of their way to help. If you like supporting a local small business this is the one. Stop by and say the Grateful Dead guy told you to stop in and buy some cool vinyl, CDs etc.

I've never ran into any issues with books being out of stock so I give them a 10/10 for always having what I need. Especially during the holidays! My only knock is price of the franchise merchandise (Harry Potter, stranger things etc). Prices are pretty high for what they are ($35 for a journal) but understood because that stuff is popular. Overall, besides going to a mom/pop book store, this Barnes and noble is pretty solid and a place I can count on.

Kids have their own little table and chairs where they can sit and do crafts. There's also local artists selling work in one corner, and you can buy a drink and a snack. It's fun to just walk around and look for interesting old books. I found a jazz standard song book for two dollars. There are beautiful art and craft made from old books. They also sell vinal, DVD, music CD. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The parking lot is full on Saturdays because so many people spend their afternoon here, relaxing with a book. Educators get 10% off on Saturdays, which was a very kind gesture. Books are the best educational tool, whether they are new or old. This bookstore is truly unique, and I love it!

I don't live super close, but I try to check on it when I'm around. Someone mentioned several copies of the same record in different parts of the store and different prices. I have noticed that, too, but that is common of many record stores. The new copies will be the same price, but used copies will have different prices depending on the condition. I think the problem might be that the New, Used, and genre sections are not labelled clearly enough and there are many different sections. The first time I actually was able to get in, the store was open and music was playing, but there was no one manning the store. If there was someone there, I didn't see them in the 30 minutes or so I was browsing. I ended up leaving empty handed. They do have a decent collection of records, though. Last time, I was able to find something I had been looking for for years. I'll go back. Hopefully it's open when I do.

I look at what my addicted nephews play and my head spins and my eyes twitch - so I turn left and BAM, there was ATARI stuff, such a wonderful nostalgic moment. PC big box games, NeoGeos, SEGA stuff, Pokemon cards and Flush and toys -- Gameboy Color - Advanced - GameCube and arriving at the 3DS games. I purchased a Pac-Man - Pacman World I believe as to not exit my classic comfort zone quite yet and a Donkey Kong who still looks pissed off since 1982, Donkey Kong Country as I recall.. They dealt with my issues quickly and inexpensively, and made it clear they were there for us whenever we needed anything electronic. I was moved to write a review today, because my husband just finished a 30 minute phone conversation with Rick. We called, not realizing they were closed on weekends. Instead of saying that and telling us to call back, Rick asked what the problem was. In thirty minutes he talked John through a fix with the new Frontier cable box and its remote control that gave us back a living room television until Rick's programmer, Brian, was available to come and reprogram the universal remote. We had spent about 2 hours each on the phone with Frontier, who was very helpful, but couldn't figure out why their remote wouldn't work with their new box. Since we were trying to watch a hurricane and the US Open, we were very grateful. My husband asked Rick to please send us a bill for his time, especially since we discovered they were actually closed. Rick laughed and said, Oh no, this was part of their service. OK. So I love them.

The son of the (Owner) was extremely knowledgeable and it was a very small fix and with him running all kinds of tests to see if it was just the needle. He determined it was just that part that I needed and advised I could get it online for much cheaper than it would cost to have a repair shop fix it and even went so far as to provide me with the part number and told me how to do it once I received the part. He was also in the process of closing but helped me anyway. He went over and above what anyone would do in this scenario. It's a little late posting this because I forgot to do it when I left the store, but I hope he sees this and remembers who I am. If I ever have any electronics that I need repaired, I am definitely going to bring them to this place. They are unbelievable!
