He helped us with our selections and answers every question we had, you can tell he is very passionate about his business. The store is smaller but has a huge selection and great prices. Unfortunately went in to buy records( I collect) but I'm a black woman, no one spoke to me. I still browsed thinking whatever... however a YT man came in right after and was greeted and they struck up nice conversation. Very hurtful ( I came from a retail management background and I have costumers that are annoying) but it was my first time in.. and I went out of my way to come here so that experience was very hurtful and sad. Store was clean prices are okay ... not competitive ( I feel) but eh. Hopefully everyone else has a better experience... im not trying to discourage anyone but note to workers.. please just choose kindness to all patrons read more

Klitchy small business in an old refurbished gas station. Cool vibe, and the place is retro (in the best way). Shop has a lot of late titles, and is still building inventory. The only downside is - right now - not many obscure or old vintage vinyl are (yet) available (understandably so). I will re-visit this shop in another six months, and check back in. This is THE best record store in all of Tampa Bay. The owner Keith is super friendly and knowledgeable. He makes visiting his store an absolute pleasure!! The selection of vinyl records is perfectly and meticulously curated so there is only the highest quality of titles. On top of that the prices are more than fair, especially as you know you are going to take home only excellent quality stuff. Also, I recently sold some vinyl records to Keith and he made the selling process as easy, low pressure and stress free as possible :) He also paid me what I thought were very fair prices. I was so impressed with him and how he treated me. Was in town on vacation and wanted to do some record shopping and this came up on a list of top stores in Tampa. Selection of vinyl was a mix of and used new. I'm mostly looking for punk (specifically 90s skate punk). Was tough here since things were not really sorted by genre and since a lot of what I was looking for is not bigger artists, for each letter of the alphabet I'd have to go through all the artists then flip through all the miscellaneous. Didn't end up purchasing here. read more

This was a pleasant surprise. Lots of new lps and well priced used ones. Mostly rock, indie, punk but I came away with a couple of new Hank Mobley and Lee Morgan reissues on original not knock off labels. Not a huge collection but well organized , clean and easy to dig. read more

Microgroove is an absolute must see destination for any used record collector who lives in or visits Tampa! It's not a huge store, but they really focus on quality of record condition over quantity. After pulling the first couple of discs out of the sleeve and seeing the pristine nearly new condition, I didn't even bother checking the rest of my purchases. I noticed a very few albums had writing on the clear protective sleeve with comments, if there was any type of defect or pop on them or the sleeves, which were also equally minty fresh. I went through the entire store and only saw that on a handful, meaning everything else is mint or near mint condition! I asked the owner about it when I was checking out, and he confirmed that he doesn't sell records that are worn or scratched. The prices were also very reasonable considering the condition, I wish all used record stores were like this! He has some new stuff too. All in all, if you are into used records, you have to make it to Microgroove if you are anywhere near Tampa. read more

I've lived in Seminole Heights for over 2.5 years and I'm kind of embarrassed to say that I just went here for the first time on Record Store Day, April 22, 2017. They had a limited edition press of a friend's local band, DieAlps! but unfortunately had sold out by the time we got there. I was able to get a couple used records for $1.99 and 3 clearance tapes for a total of $1 (Garth Brooks and Steve Earle, for the RV's tape deck). There's a really nice selection of records there too. Lots of recent artists as well as historic stuff. Sometimes there's live music too on the weekends or for special events. Honestly I wish they could open the garage door and let the music go into the street and parking lot...that would be rad. It's right next door to Cappy's in Seminole Heights, so look for the rocket sign. read more

What a cool store! I recently got my old records out of storage and bought a new record player. I was in Tampa for a day and found this place on Yelp. Compared to some other places I've been since, they're pretty organized. It's not as large as some places, but a decent enough selection. And the quality of the records we bought were good. Prices really depended on what artist we were looking for. Most mine were under $10 each. But my wife splurged on a Madonna album that was displayed on the wall. Next time I'm in town, I'll have to check them out again. read more

MICROGROOVE is a gem in seminole heights! The guys who opened this place love what they do and the music knowledge is extesive.theyre actually fun guys that are fun to talk to. They just dont mind if you hang and browse or spend time at listening stations. I go at least once a week and bring a friend that hasnt been yet and they are always delighted. you can get almost anything in c.d. or record form! I just picked up some Al Green and Cannibal Corpse.(this is actually true) I adore this place and you will also The people that work there are as nice as you can get and it has a very hometown feel. Please accept my apology for forgetting the owners name he's a super nice guy totally hip and cool. I love his stores location it's in a very trendy neighborhood or at least trending upswing. I will also add that the quality of the merchandise especially with respect to the records that he sells are top notch. He doesn't even mess around with anything less than almost perfect. I know this because I was going to sell some of my collection that I wasn't selling on eBay and he just flat out told me I'm really not interested in these which is exactly why I was trying to dump them off on a reseller. He wasn't having any of that he explained to me that he sells only top quality merchandise and that is obvious in looking through his inventory. I really can't say enough good things about my experience at his store. Amazing little store with a great selection of CD's and vinyl. One of my good friends knows the owner and got me a crazy deal on a box of Solid State CD's. There is small lounge area inside the store. It is pretty small, but cozy. There are some free CD's in the middle of the right wall. Some local artists that are on the owners record label. Definitely worth checking out. There was only about 3 people in the store when I checked it out. read more

Visit this store and see that there is great pride taken in the offerings and care given in how they are displayed. As their names suggests, Microgroove packs a big variety of records into a relatively small place yet their selection is very eclectic and it makes it easy to find something for the music lover in everyone (even the bipolar music lover in me). Another perk of a shopping a smaller store is the ability to interact with the owner and, in Microgroove's case, it is a wonderful opportunity to pick the brain of a guy that has an immense amount of experience and knowledge. Probably the saddest excuse for a record store that I've ever seen in my life. With the droves of people discarding their wax and downloading bootleg mp3s off the interwebz, one would think this place would have a better selection of vinyl. What I saw was about 40 milk crates filled with a bunch of sorry records. Mojo, Sound Exchange or the little record shop inside Oldsmar Flea Market offer better options. read more

I stopped by after seeing my son swear in to the Air Force was a very emotional day for me so we stopped to look at records and came out with a ton!! Some were $1 and as low as .50 cents. Too bad its in Tampa because its so far from me but a very cool place you must check this place out. read more

Small but efficient shop. Lots of new vinyl and a decent selection of used records. Friendly owner and prices are very fair (new runs around $20-25 as in most shops). Store in Seminole Heights- small store but with very good inventory. They are also very knowledgeable . I don't get here as often as I would like, I live over in Tarpon Springs, but when I do visit I always seem to find something to make it worthwhile. As Father Lou once said "It was Alright"- Make it over when you can. read more

Always has a great stock of records coming in, both new and used. Keith does an excellent job of cleaning up the second hand vinyl which is greatly appreciated by a collector. The only downside would be that there's always something that I want, which will eventually put me in finical ruin. read more
