I only interacted with one very nice Lady at the counter, I'm bad with names, will update if I get her name as this is now my #1 gaming go to store, but I will never forget her as she was very polite, professional & relaxed, the atmosphere of the store is a mixture of peace & excitement cause you never know what you'll find, it's like a hunting in a treasure chest, I guarantee you'll walk out with a huge wishlist of reasons to return, it's a busy store, but I was there between 10:30-11am on a Saturday it wasn't crowded, which was nice as I'm not a people person per say... Disc Traders captures that nostalgic feeling that GameStop used to have like 15 years ago. First off, it smelled AMAZING (weird right?). Secondly, there were ample rows filled of movies, games, and action figures from every genere and console you can think of. Literally, 8 year old me was jealous of what I was looking at. I quite literally had to pace myself and NOT buy everything. I definitely will be a regular here. I wished that they had a GBA or a PS2 so I could buy some of the games, but it's cool; it'll buff. This is quite literally an awesome place to spend a good hour or so at. Cheap prices and a wide array of items. Keep this place in business!

I used to have a dvd collection of over 500 dvds until someone sold them without my permission but this place could help me build it back up to its former glory. I chose to write this in February, the month of love, because I love dvds and anyone who loves me knows how excited I get when I recieve a new movie or tv series. I would literally be in heaven if someone bought be a boat load of movies here for Valentines day, or really any day. I will definitely continue to come back here when in Kalamazoo to make my movie dreams come true.

The employees were kind and asked if we needed help, but we were just looking around, so we didn't take them up on it. If you're not a nerd, this place might be scary for you. It's big and there are a lot of things that may be hard to understand. That said, if you're looking for an adventure, this is it!

They have all the fixings to start you on a d&d adventure including dice, books and figurines. They have cards upon cards for magic the gathering along with the binders, card covers and card boxs. Love comics? They have those too! Best part? You can order things from their site to get sent to your home or the store and it even has a wishlist feature so they can let you know when they get something in stock! My husband was giddy- "Ace, look! I can shop from my computer!" So, if you have a nerdy significant other, stop into the store or check out their online shop to give your love an amazing gift, maybe a Valentine's gift. Disc Traders has quickly become a shell of its former self. There's currently a sign on the door…read moreproudly proclaiming that it's now independently owned and operated. Sometimes they're only open a few hours a day, some days they're not open at all. "Staffing issues" with Now Hiring signs all over, but never any more employees in the store. It can take hours or days to wait to trade in anything, with "bank issues" incresingly delaying payments. Still, there are treasures to be found. I picked up a blu-ray the other day for $3.99 that sells for $40+ used online. But, the drive across town takes a chance that they may not be open. Inconsistent hours and minimal staff will end up running this place into the ground. It's a shame, because it used to be the premiere spot in Lansing to get used media. Now it's running on the fumes of its former reputation.

I've been a customer at this store for many years. My collection of films is over 2500 films so I…read morehave purchased and spent a lot of money in this store. The crew has changed, and last week I purchased some films. The new manager said the transaction didn't work so I had to re-tap it again. It said approved on the paper copy but I did what she said and taped it again. The same thing happened again two more times, with it saying approved and the new manager saying it didn't go through. She said let's try the other register and after the 3rd try with the other card, it said approved but also said too many tries. I used a different card and she said it went through. She said when you get home, if it shows you got charged let me know and I will give you credit. I asked for an email address to send it to her and I sent her proof that I was charged 4 times, every time she said it didn't go though but it said approved on the credit card slip. She never responded. It has been several days without her replying, so I tried to reach the owner without luck. So I filed a BBB complaint as well and filed with my credit card company. I have spent so much time on this that the owner and this new manager should be embarrassed. With previous crews at this store, they were always so respectful as I spent a lot of money there over many years. I periodically would take them food, pizzas and desserts from local restaurants to repay them for being so kind to an older person. I'm 71. Today I called in and reached an employee that sounded like he didn't care if I ever came back. His tone was dismissive and uninterested at best. I don't believe this new manager knows how much I have purchased at this store and how much money the owner is going to lose over her ignoring the emails sent to her. She gave me the email to share what happened with the charges when she didn't know what she was doing at the register. This new crew seems arrogant and uncaring. They didn't just lose one of their most loyal customers, they will lose a lot of their business over how this new crew is treating customers. The young man this morning was uninterested in helping and will ensure retention is non-existent soon. This new manager apparently believes if she ignores the issue it will disappear. I was so polite to her when she had me running a card over and over when it said approved, and yet, she ignored my emails to her as if they were never sent. An owner that allows this to happen to someone that can afford to spend hundreds a month on films isn't paying attention to his business in my opinion. I'm done and will never return. There are way to many options online, like Criterion, A-24, Kino Lorber and Barnes and Noble to have to spend this much time dealing with staff and management that doesn't care about customers or his business apparently. They ignored me, but their business is at risk over this lack of professionalism.

Magic the Gathering cards are the prominent cards they had for sale. Lots of accessories to go with your gaming adventures like card sleeves, dice, deck boxes, and play mats. If you are more of a D&D person over card games they have D&D books and some mini figures. They also have a selection of other card games like Exploding Kittens and Imploding Kittens. As a dice goblin I could've stared at the dice for days but I didn't think that would go over well with my husband. They have events going on every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday according to the calendar up on the wall. We shall definitely be back as soon as possible because this shop is right up our alley. Their selection of comics is colossal, the main reason we come back. Their game selection is also phenomenal and they even have a "game cage" for table top games to happen in store. Kids also have game and comic options as well as stuffed animals that are great for all ages. Staff is friendly, greeting us as we entered and various employees asking if we needed help with anything during our visit. We got what we wanted and continued our adventure. I'm glad we make FanFare a regular Kalamazoo stop and am already looking forward to coming back.
