I frequent this establishment, due to necessity. Customer service for the game pod side of the facility is lacking if not totally lost on a few staff members. Rarely do they greet me with any semblance of a friendly demeanor, and most of them have forgot that they work with "toy" guns. Had a staff member yell at me several time when I asked a question. (Like I said they play with toy guns all day it appeared to have given him some sort of complex, I was glad to make a correction for him.) If you love airsoft and are in the area this site great, but don't expect much from the game pod side. Took my friend also and when his rental weapon was not working, he was told "I'm sorry" no replacement, no refund. I've been going to gamepod combat zone for more than a few years now. Previously I had little to no complaints about the place. The staff was cool, the arena itself is one of the best in the world probably, and the environment was as pleasant as it could be considering the types of people you run into in the airsoft hobby. Those who play, know what I mean. After stepping away from the game for a few years and returning to my home field, I'm saddened to say that the years haven't been kind to the organization of game pod. Between the Evike outpost employees and the staff of the field itself, it seems like only a spare few actually understand what appropriate customer service behavior is. Outside of my interactions with two or three people in the outpost, I've found the staff to be generally unhelpful, and even disrespectful to me as a customer browsing their sparse wares. What I can only describe as neck-beardish, condescending energy, and the enthusiasm of someone who absolutely hates their job overpower the more run of the mill customer-employee interactions I've had with other members of the staff. The same gripes apply to the gamepod staff, who mar the experience from the jump by lacking the basic communicative courtesies that you would expect from someone assisting you as a customer. I'm talking about the bare minimum. I understand if you hate your job. That shouldn't give you the an excuse to treat the guests of your organization with disdain. You're here to facilitate the process of the consumption of your product, and you get paid for it. You don't even have to smile. The mildest sense of politeness and respect will do, and seemingly, members of gamepod and Evike lack even that. read more

Fun spot. Haven't been airsofting much to ascertain it's merits versus other spots but it's good enough to come back to and I live and hour and a half away. Great friendly staff and people. I've been playing airsoft for about two years, ive been going to AEX instead of GP. My first time Here was yesterday and it was amazing. Friendly staff and even friendlier players. As a kid in airsoft most people don't enjoy us playing and is somewhat understandable as some kids cheat and all around don't know how to even operate a firearm/ airsoft gun. But before I even entered the staging room a group of 3 guys walk out and all are nice saying "Have fun" "good luck" ect. And I was surprised with that. Then the gameplay gets even better, within the first few games I had a group of 5+ Milsim/Veterans. We preformed stacks, cover fire, ect. And the best part is I didn't even have to look for a group. The welcomed me right in as the saw I came alone. All around great place, only downside was the speed softer that was cheating using full auto and point blank shooting. ( in full auto ) read more

I've been here a few times and it's really a blast. It's a great field with generally pretty cool staff(although there can be some wet sacks on duty occasionally). The players are all very cool and fun to play with but you will run into dudes with polarstars who overshoot and rarely call their hits. I've been to gamepod 23 times. It's not close either quite a drive actually, and what I can say for certainty is that Gamepod is a great arena with bad refs. I'd like to specifically point out TJ, a large ref who appears to be in charge, who made my experience at Gamepod really poor. First of all, every time he walks by me he stabs me with the knife in my plate carrier which hurts quite a bit. Second, he insists on these "rouge agents", a group of people who appear to not follow the rules and appear to be your teammates until they shoot you. I find this part of the game to really detract from my experience at Gamepod. After being shot multiple times by teammates who were apparently traitors, while I was making pushes or trying to outflank enemies, I just got fed up and voiced my options to TJ who in turn told me to get some balls and suck it up. A place that was once an amazing place I would go every weekend to really get away and have a blast has been in many ways ruined by this aspect of the game. I speak for many of my fellow players when I say please, anyone who has any sway at Gamepod happens to read this, please make sure this "traitor" or "rouge" agent gameplay never happens again. AIRSOFT I started writing Yelp reviews regularly three years when I went to my cousin's bachelor party at San Diego. I wrote reviews of every place I visited during my cousin's bachelor party. It triggered me to write reviews on Yelp. One of the places we visited was a paintball facility where I had a great time. My cousin and nephew having been going to this location almost every weekend this past year. They encouraged me to go one of these days. I've been here twice. The first was on the Saturday after Thanksgiving while the second was the Saturday before Christmas. I didn't realize how serious these airsoft games are. People set up by getting their supplies ready for action. The gear that most people wear is simulated to military attire. During the weekends there are four games. Each game is 45 minutes long. After each game you get a 15 minutes break with the exception of lunch, which is 1 hour long. Before the first game you are briefed about safety concerns. The most important safety issue is your eyes as everyone who plays have to wear goggles. Otherwise you'll end up like Ralphie on "A Christmas Story" with the famous line - "You'll shoot your eye out." Inside the facility the layout is similar going to a worn torn city - abandoned cars and empty buildings. These games are intense yet fun. The game is split into two teams competing against each other. Each game has a different agenda for the teams to complete. The atmosphere is competitive yet also out going as people here are friendly specially during the break. If you ever thought about airsofting this facility is very good place to participate in that activity. read more

I had my first airsoft experience here; the only reason I'm not giving it a 1/5 is because the games were fun, and the players all were really friendly and communicative. The reason why my rating is so low, is the staff. I personally work as a manager in customer service, and let me say this. If these people were working at my store, each and every one of them would all be fired immediately or have a file drawer full of corrective actions. The attitudes, the condescending behavior, the smart ass remarks, it's disgusting and completely ruined the experience for me. The front desk girl, the refs, and the evike employees. I asked about buying a mask in the store, the employee was completely rude, cut me off, and said "Do you know what this means? I guess you don't because you wouldn't be asking me right?" This is my home field so I regular this place any time I have a day to myself. For the most part this place is awesome and the staff are super friendly. I can honestly say the same about most players as well, but when it comes down to weekend play it's not even worth it to come play. I say this because once the cheating starts, it's becomes so bad I start to sit games out. My solution to this is coming to play during the week. This is a far better experience. Cheaters are almost nonexistent and if they are there, it's easy to point them out to a ref. 4 stars because I love the place but not on the weekends. read more

New person that played air soft. Played a Friday night. Arrived on time like said in website, made sure to paypal reserve for gun like it stated as well. Staff was unaware of this reservation. Waited almost 2 hours before people arrived and people started to clock in their guns. Granted it seamed last night was a soft opening for a store front, however gameplay did not start till 9PM. Not a lot of direction given to rental players, hard if your younger or bringing your kid. The games break down to 45 minutes each, you get to play multiple times during that 45 minute block. So price for entry is: $35 for admission. Average game is 45 minutes so, breaks down to $17.50 a game. Plus $35 dollars for a rental setup. I hope to see some better time management, more attention to detail regarding new people, and more staff to help run the field for busy days. Will come back and try again. read more

Never been to an Airsoft field before because there aren't any in the Solano area, as far as I know. I showed up late and they sure closing soon but it didn't stop the workers from answering all my questions, the ASM of Evike outpost, Walter, was informative and didn't hesitate to help me understand the fundamentals of airsoft. Just had a great time with the son at Gamepod. The evike store was fully stocked with all your needs, and the Gamepod staff was top notch. Not sure of his name but the big fella that did the safety meeting was thorough and serious. I appreciated that very much. And Bryce was very helpful on his recommendations on getting the best bang for the buck when selecting a airsoft gun. The players were cool to me and my son. Overall great experience. It was a tad warm that day so the playing field was warm. But they have air conditioned respawn points that were helpful. My advice is to get there early to get a table and chairs, bring a cooler with lots of hydration, and a good attitude and you'll have a blast. Let's start with the good, the field/facility is set up great, it's truly a great field, and 95% of the player base is great to play with. Now the bad and what really brings this place down THE STAFF, Jesus H Christ, you couldn't purposely hire a more unenthusiastic, uninspiring bunch if you set to do so on purpose. REFs or lack there of there literally is no reffing of games they are most likely on their phones in a corner or riding around on a scooter not paying any attention to what's happening on field. One ref seemingly will randomly claim he heard you got hit out of the blue even though you're not even in the action. The briefing before rounds hopefully is not done by the large heavy breathing dude that mumbles and has the enthusiasm of a dry fish. I manage employees for a living, and if these guys were under my employ, I would clean house immediately. This place has the potential to be A+ but is so held back by poor management and clueless employees. You can tell right away when a field is run by people who love and live airsoft. By far way above CQB City. Refs are cool. Field is nice and big. The staff actually push for you to get ready before games, unlike CQB city, who takes 30 min breaks in between 6 10 ml in games. Field actually has a store with actual stuff in it... unlike CQB city.Get it? Go here instead of CQB city. The only cons: -one side of the spawn (West Wall) is at a disadvantage - A lot of buildings only have one way in.I wish they recommended more entrances to encourage flanking -The "bang bang" rule. read more

Just remember simple rules and ur fine: Eye pro Call ur hits Don't touch it if it's not urs Be nice, try work it out prier to a ref interaction. Don't just assume everyone is on ur page. If you can't talk it out ref it out. If they arnt calling hits super far away don't get mad I know it's hard, just move up and drill them lol. I've been that guy too that runs in a room and gets hit 10x in 1 sec. sometimes u need a second to acquire where u are and with fog you can't see anything. At this point I just move to a corner and wave my hands and call dead man. Don't take it SO serious and the game is way more fun. Test ur skills jump through that window! read more

For being a person who likes to stay in 5 star hotels and not sweat, being grungy and completely gross out there playing with my favorite team, Team Quarantine was an absolute blast. I definitely have an itching trigger finger now. I am usually behind the camera out there getting the action shots but now I believe I am hooked! I will be looking into getting my tatical game on more often. This field in particular was really nice, I loved the indoor atmosphere and the zombie apocalypse pistol game! Minus the wearing your glasses constantly in the staging area I have no complaints. I understand its a safety issue but being sweaty and hott and having to keep those glassed plastered to my face in no fun. I had a blast and definitely will be back! read more

A little perturbed today when a mother of a 12 yr old birthday decided to move our stuff to make room for her kids. I'll let you figure out which one is her in the pic. Instead of blowing up at the kids and at the parents, I calmly talked to them and be reapectful the next time around. Once you get to know everyone it's like they become family. Very helpful staff, the refs were very attentive, but the rental gun (I wanted to try out lipo, I already own several AEGs) had a faulty mag feed and selector switch as well as the sight was scoped off, but it did a good job in terms of accuracy and range. Things to clarify- pre-purchase a ticket from online, bring it in and check in with your last name, 400 is max fps, it says on the website indoor limit is 350, but what they mean is in the little houses or bunkers, so bring a sidearm. Nobody cheats, and if they do, its into the "hello kitty room". Most players are milsim guys with lipos and high end gas guns, no minges. The arena is 120,000 sq feet filled with buildings, not an outdoor soccer field with random barrels lying around, visit when you get the chance. read more

I am someone who is coming from paintball. Airsoft is totally new to me and I enjoyed playing here. I will continue to play here regularly as I am a local to the area. Jared spent nearly 2 hours with me and my cousin answering all of our noob question and made sure to that our first airsoft gun purchase to be successful. My second time playing here with my buddies and man, I had a lot of fun! 30 gets you the entire day and I think it's like 30-35 bucks for rental but its better to have your own equipment cause it just makes it that more fun. They also sell BB's as well just in case you run out. The warehouse is pretty huge with an urban decor setting. Lots of buildings, side streets and little ally ways. They have a mock up plane, props like cars and a mock gas station. Some areas are really dark so a flashlight and clear eye protection is highly recommend so you can see where you're shooting the bb's. And the staff is really really cool. They make sure players are following the requirements and ban those who sneak high fps weapons onto the battle zone. Besides sweating like a pig and stepping out for some water every 20 mins, Gamepod Combat Zone is a really fun place to play airsoft read more

This place was really great! My son has been into this for over a year and this is his favorite! We just the two day event and had a great time. I'm new and just did my first day last week. Very intense. Don't be put off by being a beginner. Younger kids, lots of 14 to 30 year olds, but more than a handful of old 40-50 year olds as well. UPDATED REVIEW: So I went here again to get another perspective on the field. The referees are suddenly nice as hell! It's unbelievable! I appreciate the fact that there are no real camping spots here. I still think games are too complex but the fact that other teams can spawn-camp means there is something wrong with setup of the field. I suggest that games are more serious and more of the MilSim flavor. I'd still prefer other fields like Sequoia (amazing!), Fort Ord and CQB City. read more

I have visited this place a couple of times.The dark lighting of this place could either be its own uniqueness or its own downfall for some airsoft player. Personally, I like it dark so that my Madbull Flare tracer unit shines brighter. Having said that, if you do not utilize flashlight, tracers, or anything to see where the bbs is flying then you better zero your dot sight very well. Long range indoor field is a rarity in California, thank god there is Gamepod. I love long range shooting! Usually friendly and honorable players are present even though sometimes there are few cheaters who don't call their hits. Entertaining intense games depending on the scenario. I've gone here maybe 30 times over the course of a year. I will always go back here every so often for a good fast paced day of fun. Large indoor CQB/MOUT field. I would know the place like the back of my hand now except they always change something, add a door, block up a window, move cars or barriers around. Every time is something just a bit different. The only downfall is sometimes despite its large size for an indoor arena, days with 200+ players leaves you no room for mobility and guys out there ripping with 40RPS P*s arent always the most fun. read more

Went to the opening day on March 9 - had a great time. This all-indoor cqb setup is designed to encourage some exciting firefights, and does just that. Here's a quick breakdown: - 120 thousand square feet (pretty huge) - dozens of buildings and structures to go in and around - Kind of dim lighting - it's not hard to see, but it kind of feels like playing under a well-lit street at night time - Because of the llighting, often can't see your shots - or the ones coming at you - kind of a cool effect - LONG games - there isn't necessarily a time limit for every game, but we just play until one team accomplishes the mission(s) - the last game I played went on for over 2 hours! - Great layout - you get the full cqb effect, but also can score some nice long-range "kills" too - you definitely have to watch your firing lanes (it goes both ways) Also, between games some of the refs (I believe several of them are former Army Rangers) would provide a mini-clinic (4-7 minutes) on some cqb tactics, covering things like how to take and control a corner, or correcting improper flashlight use. For people who are interested, it's also a good opportunity to become a better player! The only downsides I experienced I would attribute to it being opening day - it took a little while to get the first game going (little bottleneck at the chrono, but where isn't that an issue?), and the second game seemed like the objectives worked themselves into an impossible place (the other team appeared to have gotten our objective into or near their spawn point, but every time we got close the refs would tell us to back off and not spawn camp, so it seemed like we couldn't actually get to it). Again, I expect these were both things that will get worked out with a little time...I'll definitely be back to find out (heck, I'd go back either way, it's a great place!). read more
