This place is so neat! I swing by this place every time I'm in the area to see what's new in store. Pokémon, Magic, One Piece, they've got a little bit of everything for trading cards and more. I'm always surprised to see what console games they have as well. You may have to dig, but there were a few uncommon games last time I went! Not to mention a Collector's Edition Majora's Mask in box. I go to Heroes & Fantasies to play MTG. When I went to this place, the room was full of 15-16 MTG players and almost no one wanted to play! They could not even get the minimum 8 enough together for a small ball sanctioned tournament. I have played competitive MTG since 1996, this place is a waste of time. read more

Cliff and Nick were awesome! I'm new to MTG and Cliff was more than helpful when picking out starter decks and accessories. Cliff is an old school guy and loves to crack jokes. What really stood out was how he said they're there to build a community and not "mill" our wallets. Prices are really good, can't wait to be back to build more decks. read more

Never had a bad experience, they are welcoming, knowledgeable and will go out of their way to help new and old players out. With the community that comes in, you're never short of a helping hand on building a deck, testing it out and working through the kinks. Merchandise is reasonably priced and I love going in to check out the magic cards on the wall. Free pack with 25$ worth of those- I get in so much trouble because the selection is the best in town. Pokémon cards are well stocked, and the owner lets you pick from the box- so you get what you get- and trust me , and I've got some really good stuff. Tournaments are a blast, and because I'm a new player, I was thrilled to walk in to such a kind and willing to work with me group- I even won one- with the help of my fellow competitors. I went by three times during advertised business hours. Twice it was closed. My only experience in there was underwhelming. I was there specifically for retro game stuff. There wasn't much of a selection compared to other retro game stores in town, especially considering the size of the place. Some things were over priced, while others were not. I can't speak for their selection of other items, as I have no knowledge of those things. The place was spacious and clean. read more

I visited this store as a scout having recently moved to the area. I looked around, saw a few things I would like to buy, then waited around while the cashier (who I believe is also the owner) talked to another person at the counter for at least 15 minutes. I didn't pay much attention until the owner said something like "That's the thing these days, when a woman is in the kitchen you don't even know if they're really a woman". A joke, but both misogynistic and transphobic nonetheless. I dropped what I wanted to buy and left, and I would advise anyone looking for an inclusive environment to look elsewhere. I'm new to Magic & it can be very daunting to get advice & tips when you aren't part of the community. Well luckily I found Gamelot. From useful advice on how to spend your money to a plethora of space to play Gamelot has it all. When I recently went by & purchased my first Dragon Shield sleeves I was so happy to find they have samples of every color to look at before you buy. Thankfully Nick pointed this out to me before I bought the Ruby's & I ended up with the Crimson's which are absolutely perfect! They have the best prices in town & a great selection of singles. I took my 10-yr-old daughter to play here as it was the only store within my time constraints offering a two-headed giant pre-release for Magic 2020. There were a few other younger kids there which made my daughter (and me) feel more comfortable for that type of event. We had a great time and the staff was very professional, they kept the matches moving to the point that I even felt a little rushed (I was playing pretty slowly tbh). This is my go-to store for Pre-releases, but it is a little far away for weekly events. read more

I've been here a few times now. The staff is incredibly friendly. First time we went to the store Cliff was very helpful, engaged in conversation and gave us advice on decks and card buying. It became obvious quite quickly that they were not just in this business to make money but to grow the love of the game. Rarely do you find stores where the staff is as polite and helpful as at Gamelot! I was in there digging through boxes of cards and watched as Cliff greeted people coming in, offered them assistance, and have them real information. This is not a store focused solely on making money, this is a store focused on bringing a community of gamers together and I am a life long customer! read more

We sold some cards here and the owner made us feel very dismissed, showing up 15 minutes after advertised opening hours and then trying to lowball us on some rare stuff. He then made a sexual comment at us about our drink choice, balls energy drink - "you know what they say eh? Eh? Ribbed for her pleasure." Absolutely disgusting attitude, it's clear he has a core group of similar minded customers which makes the atmosphere unbearable. As if that weren't enough, he made a repeat performance when we decided to give the store a second shot, since there are very few card shops in the area. When we made it clear we were looking for $20 for groceries, he offered us $6 and explained in a very tut tut condescending tone about cards banned from play (as if we didn't know). Honestly needs reporting to WOTC for sexist behavior. read more

I was quoted a price to only go into to purchase and have the priced raised. The young man (bigger, teenage, glasses) that works there hardly got out of his gaming chair to help me. Being new I was curious about the gaming and was pretty much ignored standing and talking in front of him a mere foot away. I don't know if he is forced to work at the store, please care enough though for the customers. The older guy on the other hand was nicer, just a lot to work on the organizational side of the store. It can be a nightmare looking for a odd card there. Being a gamer I wouldn't say your left with a lot of options out there unfortunately. read more
