Someone didn't want them"Th. I took a box and asked someone else at the counter that was selling the cards what they recommend, since I haven't bought many card games recently. He then told me that he didn't recommend me anything, because he is not Japanese and didn't know the cards very well. I asked him if he played any of them, and said he doesn't, so he cannot recommend me anything of the product. I found it very strange how a card dealer does not know their own product, or even care about them can actually get a customer to buy products from them. Most card shop owners that I've been to play the games they sell, and can recommend me what cards I'd want to get based on my preference. But this one did not, so they have no love for the products they own, and therefor did not get a sale from me. Very unprofessional. I asked them about if there are table top rpg sessions at their place, and they said they had it a long time ago, but nowadays are not done anymore in store and are now done elsewhere. He also told me that I was slow, which was insulting to a potential customer. I was going to buy some packs, but that unnecessary comment was dealbreaker for me. I just played their 75cents Pokémon gacha machine, and left. Their free card giveaways are great, but -2 star for terrible customer service.

The free play tables however, are great. Fun commander magic games and enjoyed a few sessions from dnd here. The dnd minitures that they sell here are pretty cheap, for the lower end minis at least. And they have interesting and large selections of those. I like their minor tabletop card game collections, some are really cheap and look awesome, so that's great.

Bought nothing. Took a lap around the store and had to leave fast. They have a consistent group of people going in for tournaments (lorcana, magic, Pokemon, but not as much yugioh) Won't be back.

He accused me of taking pictures of the store to make a scam site online (I was just using my phone to zoom in on the small prices on the wall), and then while I was buying something from another staff member for the posted price, he interjected himself and repriced the item raising it nearly $100 while I was buying it (about 20% over tcgplayer price). The other staff member looked really uncomfortable, I asked him why he did that and he just walked away. I said forget it, went to walk out and another staff member apologized for his behavior, said he was having a bad day. There are a lot of places to buy cardboard, most of if not all of what they sold is cheaper online. I like going to a store and buying it off a shelf instead of on a website, but not if they're going to treat people poorly. There are a handful of other shops as well between tacoma and federal way. Again, the rest of the staff was great and I hesitated to even bother leaving feedback, but I haven't been back there since and figured I'd share so people know who they may run into when they shop there.

Buyers are standoffish, non negotiable and give you no clear reason or breakdown of how they are pricing. The take your stack, "look up comps" and bring you back a take it or leave it offer. I've purchase high end sports cards from them for over $100 and a week later brought them back to hear an offer and was offer $12. I understand margins and pricing but my goodness. Other than this the place was really cool and I really enjoyed being a regular, but if you lowball your regulars I couldn't imagine how you'd treat a stranger.

I found several books that I could not find anywhere here. Prices are great too! It's my second time coming in and the owner has given me a solid deal om the books I have bought both times. The owner is a great guy that I can tell genuinely loves what he does, and has a passion for sharing all things nerdy with everyone that walks in the door. I definitely need to make this store a routine stop :)

We had stopped by Kent for a meal and decided to check out The Game Shelf as they weren't too far. The parking is huge and shared with a lot of businesses and it was Friday evening, so it took a little bit of time to find parking. Once we parked, we entered into the store and were greeted politely by the cashier. There was a Magic the Gathering event going on and it looks like their events calendar always has something going on each day which is great. They even did Final Fantasy TCG which we have yet to see anywhere else and we have been to card shops in several parts of Washington. They had quite a massive selection of wares from desk mats, card holders, sleeves, deck boxes, board games, dice, and much more. We bought a few things and as we were checking out, the cashier mentions to us about their reward system which is a character sheet that you can fill out and there are six slots that they will add up from each amount you spent. Depending on how much you spend will determine your discount which I think is really neat and unique from other card shops. It rewards you no matter how much you spend rather than a point system that could take more than a few purchases to accumulate. I also asked if they were dog friendly and they are, they just ask that your dog is well-behaved, don't make a fuss or bother other patrons, and to clean up after them.

I felt bad because the person working there was clearly chilling and I felt bad to disturb their morning relaxing time before they started work. They still greeted me and were friendly and kind. Helped me choose the first D&D book I need to begin my adventures. Super excited and absolutely love this place. Highly recommend. Every Friday at 7pm is D&D night with a group who are willing to teach you:) they have events and other games there as well that people come to play. They have a fridge with drinks as well for purchase and games you can play off the shelf.

Today he recommended this Wonder Woman comic to me with beautiful art and I've been loving it so far. The first time I visited Mighty Moose, I was looking for Shadow Service published by Vault Comics. I was travelling shortly, but Ilan found all the issues for me and held them until two months later when I returned. I really appreciated him going above and beyond to get me the comics I wanted. When I went in today, Ilan was working on a video of some super vintage comics for social media and it was really cool to see them up close. Yes their cards can sometimes be overpriced (I collect Pokemon cards), but sometimes there are great deals! Ilan sold me his entire stock of leftover Halloween Pokemon cards early last year for super cheap and I gave them out to my nieces and nephews who adored them!
