this place is so cute! walked by it a few times and finally decided to go in, they have almost everything!! for me, everything!! anything I thought "I wonder if they have.." they had it. From video games, vhs, vinyls. the vinyls are in their little downstairs area that has a few steps. Was in a bit of a hurry so I didn't get to browse much, but now I know where to go for future references! employee was supper friendly tooo!

Overdue post for Spin Cycle, located along Broadway on Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood. I've stopped in several times with The Homie. Nice indie shop where the inventory changes often enough, there's always something to discover. Also, pretty chill and never dour counter staff at Spin Cycle. May not be as vast inventory as other indies, but usually have stopped in when wandering the vicinity. We've purchased assorted CDs, DVDs, cassettes, vinyl, and stereo accessories. Make sure to stop by and also use that initial Yelp discount when you check-in.

So far one of the better record/media stores in the area. One of my favorite stores to visit on a whim. Seattle in general is great for this stuff, but this store is a great example of why that is.

I was walking southbound on Broadway one day when out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a copy of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on a shelf. That is my second favorite video game (first is Final Fantasy VII), and it's far from the most widespread game around, so I really appreciated seeing this little gem for sale in a store on a busy street. Too bad the rest of the store could use a lot of improvement. The place is rather tiny and crowded; I know that it's only possible to work with however much space is available, but navigating this store is somewhat uncomfortable. I don't know how a name that sounds like it would belong to a laundromat came to belong to a store selling games and discs, but I guess weirder things have happened. Their selection isn't all that great, either. I did not see much in the way of Nintendo DS games or actually any newer systems at all; they seem to specialize primarily in older consoles. The condition of some of their merchandise is questionable; they put some of their stuff on the floor. You know, where everybody on this busy street walks. I swear that if I ever buy any of those used PS2 games, the cases are getting trashed. I don't care so much about buying hard copies of music, so I have nothing to say in that department. But their games for the most part are old and dirty. They don't even have that great of a selection to begin with. Instead, I would recommend Pink Gorilla in King County or Another Castle in Snohomish County for retro video games. Still, stores selling old games are a dying breed and I'm glad this one exists at all.

This is an example of the grading and comments on their records.

After a field trip to the Alber's School of Business at Seattle University, my punk student was drawn into this little shop. The records appear well-selected and graded. These are the most classic punk albums I've seen outside a punk-only store. The owner is happy to show customers where things are located. He's knowledge of both his stock and albums in general. He explained, for instance, how to identify an original Nevermind the Bollocks album. The grading and detailed comments are on the inside of the albums. They're being fair and are explaining their prices. That's rare with record sellers. I did not see the games, but did look over the DVDs. My purchase was a RHPS cast album and a Beatles album (reissue) for my dear mother. My student purchased a punk LP. I'm not sure, but I suspect this record store made his day!

Home sweet home here @ Spin Cycle!

Cool selection of vinyls and owner was very friendly. Reasonable prices as well. Would definitely recommend.

If every cool little shop on Capitol Hill went away, this is the one I would miss the most.

My friend and I walked around with our heads down, like a couple of sad Charlie Browns, after we were on our way to Gruv for our used DVD fix for the day.

Sup Pop started it all in Seattle!…read more Thank god a SUP POP store is now located in downtown Seattle, I need a place to actually view, smell, taste & purchase vinyl. Now before I rant and rave anymore it must be said without certain bands in Seattle before Sup Pop started, there would be no Sup Pop, so it's time these bands get a shout out for being the original Seattle scene: TKO CULPRIT OVERLORD  ( Grunge before Grunge ) The Heats The Cowboys Shadow The Wild Dogs (Portland Band) I'm sure I left out a few but without these bands you would have Pearl Jam, Mother Love Bone or Alice N Chains. What a great store catering to the Seattle Sound " GRUNGE " music. I purchased countless SWAG items and several lp's for the collection on my shopping spree. Hell I even bought a cd special addition from ALICE in CHAINS. No downloads at this store it's real organic old school music purchasing. For you millennial children you actually have to pay for your music like we all did a long time ago. So get with the program and keep music alive by buying at Sup Pop. So now that I've said that FRANK gives a double thumbs up for turning Seattle into music history. I may not like all the artists from Sup Pop however I'm glad there here.

As a music guy, it seemed important to check out one of the Sub Pop stores while I was in Seattle…read more I actually stopped by 2 of therm, there is one in the SEA Airport (which arguably has more merchandise - at least when I went there) and this one downtown. This one has the better environment if I am being honest, its a corner side of a building store and has cool T-Shirts, books, mugs, turntable mats, etc .....all kind of SubPop merchandise. Its just a retail store to be fair - but worthy of the stop if you are into SubPop records. There is not a huge selection here, but enough to find something cool to take home. I ended up picking up a few souvenirs and chatted with the guy in the shop (super-friendly) Worth a visit!
