I was in here trying to buy a Nintendo switch ac adapter guy was very rude rining me up because I specifically asked for Nintendo brand and then over charged me because best buy had same exact item for 29.99. I never left store and they refused to return item that literally paid for 5 mi uses before. I definitely would nor recommend tnus store to anyone. I will never return. read more

Game X Change - Horrible store - Videos & Video Game Rental Near Me - College Station, Texas

My son has been going here since he was 8 or 9. It is a great store with helpful people. They are very laid back and have never been rude. The guy in the comments who said that they close at 10:00 is misinformed and was probably harassing a female employee and scared her. As a female, this is something we always have to be aware of and not something you give someone a bad review for. read more

Asked them to hold a monitor they said there was no point because they never sell but they said they would hold it anyway. I come in on the day we agreed on and they sold it anyway and the working said he remembered seeing the sticky note on it. You guys just lost a repeat customer because your word means nothing. Now instead of using a local business I guess I'm forced to use GameStop or Amazon. read more

Mediocre game store at best. Their selection is usually lacking and the employees are strangely awkward and antisocial most times (there are a few cool ones who will actually greet you and speak to you). Pricing is solid on average, and sometimes the system has the item for lower than the sticker price so you get a little discount. Tons of movies and below average video games, but the cooler first party titles are usually nowhere to be seen. read more

Says online they close at 10pm got there at 9:30 to buy a controller and the lady working at the counter made eye contact with me while I was outside and hustled as fast as she could to turn of the lights and get outside to lock up before asking what I needed as I would've taken maybe three minutes to have her scan a controller and pay. Ended up just buying one from Walmart. Will not be coming back after such blatant disregard to hours and potential customers read more

These people are selling FAKE STUFF!! Not to mention, ripping off kids. They also are rude- told my 8 year old, he should have been born during child slavery times!! Like.. why? They are also selling stuff with expired codes- stay away from them. read more

This may be the best video game store around. They have great game prices (new, old & ancient), cheapest amiibos, movies, comics, accessories, vinyl records and anything else you can think of but not to the point of annoyance that some nerdy stores tend to be. It's very casual and employees are very nice (unlike the cocky know-it-all GameStop employees). read more

Bad review went in and would not play on my console went back next day would not give money back only store is changed I've had six bad games one time I didn't check the bag before I left and they didn't put a disc in there I had to drive all the way back to have a disc put in there just bad stool manager read more

Always fun to come here, get nostalgic with a friend and get some cool, old stuff or just a good deal on any game.

This spot never ceases to come in clutch for me. The staff have always been incredibly cool and willing to help. The prices were also very good on many of the items that I purchased there. I'd recommend this place to anyone who likes gaming and such. read more

All the employees either have an attitude or zero social skills. Most socially awkward people I've ever met lmao. It's a really cool store tho and has a lot of amazing/vintage gaming stuff and cheap stuff. I actually recommend this store a lot but the employees always look so depressed. "Boo hoo I have to work inside an air conditioned building for a couple hours". Lmao but yeah it's a nice place for gaming, comics, and other stuff. Good to sell too. read more

They don't take most of the things the website says they take for store credit or cash. They really only take video games and accessories and the price they pay is much less than GameStop. Call before you go so you don't waste your time. read more

Terrible service, sold the wrong cord multiple times. Employees are as helpful as my sickly grandma is at skateboarding

I was looking for Rock Band instruments, and I found everything I needed. A seemingly brand new microphone, drumset, and sticks for about $30. I highly recommend this shop. read more

they don't check their merchandise before selling! they will sell you products that you can't use. don't buy game systems, smart watches or anything electronic from them. they won't offer refunds even if it's an hour from the purchase. they are a rip off. read more

Literally just bought a head set for Xbox one that they said would work brand new but doesn't have the correct plug in and refuse to give me my money back Stay away they don't know there stuff and sell you wrong head sets. Will never come back. read more

I bought 2 different ps4 vr sets and both did not work. I was only offered in store credit and used it to buy a wii game, it didn't work. Fortunately, they have ps4 DualShock remotes in stock most of the time so I use my store credit to get them from here. But if you are in search of newer games and electronics, TEST THEM FIRST. read more

TEST EVERY GAME YOU BUY BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE! I don't know if it just isn't their Policy to test the games before they buy them used or if it's just select lazy employees that don't test them but I purchased a used game with the strange idea that it would work when I got it home. System couldn't read it, took it back to the store and their system couldn't read it. This was all within a 10 minute window. All they could offer me was store credit, store policy. Don't waste your time with another game stop knock off. They basically stole $40 from me because I'm not going back. If you do shop here like, I stated above, ask to test the game first. All I know is I'm not the first person this happened to and I won't be the last. Save your money. read more

I bought and xbox 360 that worked for a few weeks. It randomly started powering off, when I tried to clean it it had roaches in side the hard drive bay. I recently bought a few games from them. I had a credit put towards that purchase but they did not apply it correctly got charged twice for the transaction. When I got home they had not put discs in 3 of the games I had bought and I had to drive all the way back with CS traffic it took 45 min. All they said was sorry nothing was offered. Long story short make sure you keep your receipts and make sure you inspect your games and anything else you purchase from them. I will no longer be doing any type of business there. I hate game stop but I have not had as much trouble with them or FX video game exchange. read more

This business is a scam - please be careful when buying any used products here. Game X Change refuses to refund money on any purchase in store. Ordinarily, I would understand this policy, but this game store knowingly sells defective discs to customers, and then only offers store credit in return. This evening my girlfriend and I picked up an old PS2 game at Game X Change, and it was defective. This is the second defective disc we have paid for in only three different visits. We went back up to exchange the disc for a different copy of the same game, but they did not have any more copies. They offered to give us store credit to use on something else, but we specifically came to Game X Change to play the game we bought. Now we are out $20, and have to go spend another $20 at a different store just so we can play the game we had planned our evening around. This store will not work with you to make your transaction right, they will not guarantee their used products, and they are knowingly selling defective used dics attached to a no refund policy. Save yourself the headache and disappointment, and shop elsewhere. read more

Always helpful, every time I go there. Cool selection options, & decent prices. Good deals all the time, and good trade in value for in store credit. read more

I use to really like this place bc I don't get many duds and the selection is pretty good, but idk if they just hire idiots that seriously do not care about their job or what, but let's start at the beginning. I picked up a pop doll with no tag (most are usually 10-12 most places for just a regular one). Next I grabbed about 12 movies. The guy that rang me up didn't know anything about what he was doing and the guy who apparently had been there longer wouldn't stop to make sure he's doing things right. First he couldn't figure out the price of the pop, didn't tell me how much it was just rang it up, then didn't do their (buy 2 get 1 free). He tells me the total and then goes "oh I forgot" when I pointed it out. Then proceeds with not being able to count. I get it that I might be a Karen about it, but hold on there's a reason I'm mad I didn't get 4 taken off (he only took 3). The total should have probably been about 60, but ended up being 75..... right.... Again the more experienced one wouldn't stop to assist for nothing. So I go out to my car already irritated, just to find out they charged me 25 for the pop. Kidding me right? How could you charge that much for a pop you can get for a fraction of that else where? I went back to get it fixed to which now the guy who had more experience stepped in. He reversed the first charge and charges me 45 for the movies by themselves with the additional one taken off that the noob missed. It gets even better, I get home and 2 of the dvds arnt even in their cases.... So now I got ripped off another 10. I love used games/movies stores, but it's bc of crappy workers who don't care to make sure things are done correctly is why people don't come back. read more

Cool folks, always friendly and helpful. The prices are also decent. This is our go-to game store in town.

So this place is really awesome. The dudes behind the counter are really helpful. I took a game in a few days ago to have it cleaned and after they ran it through the machine we were able to test it out on their console in the store. Their prices seem to be better than most stores and they give pretty good trade in values. My official go to place for all things game. read more

Visited today to sell some used games. I was leaning towards taking the store credit until I saw the prices of their games. They only sell used. Found a PS4 game we liked for $33. Checked Amazon and it was listed for $20 BRAND NEW. I show this to my cashier and whom I presume is the manager. With a listless expression the manager replies "ok". Apparently they don't match prices (or value customer service skills). Good luck selling USED games at 165% markup. read more

Went here today for the first time ever, wanted to see what the place offered to compete with GameStop. It has a really nice selection of old and new and when I say old I mean all old consoles (N64, GENESIS, Super Nintendo, Gameboy). And not only do they sell them but they also trade and buy old consoles and accessories. I ended up not finding the game I went looking for but I did end up buying a Kinect for my Xbox at $20.00 which was a beyond fair price. Then I got some games to go with it and ended up spending $40 or so in total. Positives: they cleaned every used disk before they gave it to you, staff friendly, good selection of oldies, 90 day warranty on most electronics, and a 24 hour game exchange if the one you got you don't end up liking. Negatives: refund only through store credit or same item (not really a problem though considering all the cons, but it seemed important to mention) read more
