Just went to browse in the back for retro stuff and the guy working there left his counter to tell me about some deals. Told him I was just browsing and he wouldn't shut up about these Gamestop-esque deals. I really did not care and it was extremely uncomfortable. It seemed like whenever our eyes meet, he would have to say something. It was like a Pokemon battle. I literally walked to sections of the store I didn't want to just so I didn't have to run into him. This should not happen. Not only that, the selection of games was not very good. I used to find rows and rows of cheap games here, but after swimming through shelves and shelves of nothing but DVDs and useless merchandise, one of the most valuable things they had was John Madden on Genesis in-box. Whooptie doo. Most of the other games had torn stickers on them. Poor Sonic & Knuckles had bits of the plastic cut in it, as if a buzz-saw nicked it somehow. Seriously?? How did they get like this?! The store was also very dirty and unkempt. I almost tripped on some bits of shelving when I went to the album section. I am a pretty avid fan of brick and mortar stores and was actually planning on purchasing at least something there, but I ultimately changed my mind and left. Overpriced and rude service…read more Came into this store looking at retro games and immediately noticed many titles were priced around 3x higher than what they regularly sell for online. I asked about the pricing and instead of a normal conversation, the staff became defensive and rude. One employee kept asking me to repeat myself, then made a comment about my appearance when I questioned the prices. Another employee handled it more professionally and simply said "that's just the price," which I respected. I understand local stores have overhead and can charge above online value, but customer service matters. If someone asks about pricing, that shouldn't turn into hostility. Left with a bad impression overall.
