To be transparent up front, never used Galway Downs as an equestrian facility. We used the polio field for soccer practice/scrimmage/games when my son played for the Quails. Even though we never participated in any horse events, we loved the facilities overall. The field was always pristine and well cared for. The overall facility was very impressive and the track was always groomed and ready for action. Only real drawbacks are the location. Deep in south Temecula off 79 South and parking was a little rough unless you were willing to off-road a bit to get closer. Other than that, great facility for soccer and I'd imagine the equestrian events would be spectacular in this setting. read more

Today I attended the Wild Horse Festival. What a freakin nightmare!!!! First the signage for parking lacked big time! We were flagged down a road by a worker. We then paid for parking but couldn't figure out where the festival entrance was. Finally we stopped to ask a parking attendant. He told us we were on the wrong side of the venue and needed to go 180 degrees around that parking lot to get to the venue. So I drove against traffic back to the parking "cashier" where I explained my dilemma and asked for a refund. Left the parking lot and headed back down the "main" road. Unsure of where to go, I had to get the first attendants attention with my horn because he was busy on his phone with ear buds in his ears to ask where we were supposed to go actually go since he's the one that flagged us down the first road. He advised us to turn left and head down the road. There were NO damn event venue signs, parking signs, nothing. I drove 360 degrees around the event back to square one and then some before I finally stopped at a dirt area and asked a very nice but very toothless lady where to go park for the festival in my most awful French language ever. I wasted nearly 30-45 minutes trying to find this music festival!!! Luckily she was cool and didn't mind my awful French language and agreed that the signage was awful. Luckily I didn't pay top notch for two tickets. Because, It was AWFUL. I can honestly say there were no more than 50 people there if that. It was hot, there was no shade, and the bands were just eh. I can't believe I spent 2 hours driving to Temecula on a Saturday from Rancho Cucamonga to be this disappointed. The wine was awful that we bought for $8 a cup. And it was warm. It was bitter for a white. We left an hour into the festival. Crazy enough the place is pretty beautiful. I actually was looking at this location for a fall 2020 wedding venue. But the pictures on the website make it look larger than it really is. Truly I think depending on the time of year this place has HUGE potential. But today it lacked everything. Signage, event staff who knew what was happening, vendors, shade, attendees, and most of all, the proper information to get us to where we needed to be. $20 a ticket, $10 a ticket. And $8 a beer or wine. And probably less than 50 people in attendance. That should speak volumes about the venue itself and I should be asking for my money back!!!! AWFUL!!!!! AWFUL!!! read more

Dusty, dirty and spread out. Little or no food available during the 1st pandemic horse show of the year. Stalls not clean on arrival, electricity not working, once a day if lucky garbage pick up, not vey well run. If your coming, bring food and supplies, pretend your camping. read more

Huge equestrian facility with a full race track, three courses, and a Three day event track. The owners are bringing in huge money for upgrades and general modernization. I can not fathom what it might take to maintain something of this scale. The PA system in the lower area kept dropping out but Murphy can show up anywhere. Outstanding staff,too. I seriously do not know what maniacal hunger posessed me to try the foodcart burrito but I kept checking to see if maybe it wasn't intended to be horse food. Bloody marys were on the menu though not available. Overall a highly positive experience and I am excited to see the place evolve! read more

This review is for the horse show facility. The warmup rings near the hunter rings (the upper rings) were full off rocks and also quite hard in places. The tents and Jumbotron and VIP areas are nice, but the footing needs to be a higher priority. My horse has an injury most likely from stepping on one of the rocks. At this point I don't know when he will be rideable, let alone showable, though it dies appear he will recover with time. read more

I have to say they are top-notch, very well organized managed and always successful for my customer point of you. The facilities are exceptional the staff incredibly customer focused and always willing to lend a hand. Every time I attend an event it continues to grow. They are not shy about adding and improving their facility and it shows with the quality of events as well as the property and amenities. If you get a chance, you should definitely get to Galway Downs equestrian Center. read more

Hands down the best facility for horses anywhere. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained with multiple arenas catering to all riding disciplines, there's a racetrack, an Eventing course with water features, wash racks, multiple barns with great trainers, a wedding venue, airstream camping and RV hookups, giant soccer fields and access to trails. Plus a regular lineup of hunter/jumper, dressage and Eventing shows and clinics all year round. I board there and I highly recommend Galway. read more

An awesome equestrian facility!! Lots of different arenas with great footing especially the Grand Prix arena. Large cross country course with many water features and jumps from intro to 4*. Always excited to watch my daughter show her horse here. You can always volunteer at shows too and make Galway bucks. read more

What isn't there to say about Galway? I've grown up here, worked here, and watched this facility expand into basically a Disneyland for all things horses. The wedding and event venue is all spectacular. You really can do it all at Galway, no matter what seat you ride, or if you're just a visitor. This is one of the most unorganized grounds I have ever been too. The office was way behind, I sat waiting for the class to post and ribbons to be awarded. Took them over 3 hours and they couldn't find my ribbon. They promised to mail it to me but that never happened. So upset I wanted the ribbon as it's my boys first horse show. read more

Galway Downs is the premiere equestrian facility on the west coast!! Robert and the staff do an incredible job hosting and running multiple international FEI events throughout the year, along with offering many hunter jumper, dressage, schooling, and breed shows. The staff at Galway also do a stellar job maintaining the facility day to day for us and our horses who are lucky enough to call this place home. You can tell Robert really cares about the facility and wants all who come and go to have the best experience possible! He keeps a very close, thorough eye on the place and does a great job staying on top of any problems/repairs, as well as adding improvements to the facility all the time. We have daily access to a top notch cross country course, an inclined gallop track, a full TB race track, more arena's with supreme footing than I can honestly count, as well as a huge grass jumping field, and miles of beautiful trails that overlook the wine country. Our horses live in extra large cinder block stalls, which stay considerably cooler in the summer months, with access to ample daily or evening turnout. My horses are so happy and at peace here, there's no place else I'd rather be! read more
