I have found KWF to be the best facility I have ever boarded. I live 70 miles from Temecula, and I happily make the drive in order to keep my horse and train at this high quality facility. Owners, Terry and Linda Paine, true professional horsemen always have the best interest of every horse, and I always am certain that my precious mare is getting the highest quality care. Everyone was really friendly, and they helped us feel at ease with the horses. I even learned how to tie a lose knot and how to brush my horse. When you get here, the ranch is huge but the directions are really clear about where to go and what to do. When you sign up for the ride they ask you questions about your experience with horses and use that to pair you with the best horse. For those who have none and have never been on a horse this is a great place to start. The staff are really knowledgeable about horses and are great at teaching you how to ride and control the horse. Also, the horses are highly trained for years and years so riding them is very easy and safe. The ranch itself is gorgeous with amazing views!! This event happened about three years ago but I thought I would share my experience. I have quite a…read morebit of experience riding horses, but I hadn't ridden in a while so I decided to go there for a lesson. At the beginning of the lesson the horse they gave me to ride was taken to the round pen to exercise out some of his energy, which I thought was kind of odd. Then I was told to get on the horse. As soon as I swung my leg over the saddle to mount the horse, he started bucking. I ended up behind the saddle sitting on the horse's rump struggling to stay seated but then finally went flying off. I was really surprised that I was given a horse like that because this was the first time I had ever been there. I tried to get on again and the horse tried to buck again. Someone grabbed his head and I was finally able to get on the horse. After that he was fine but I had some massive bruises the next day. I think Green Acres needs to have better trained horses.

I'm not sure it's exactly like riding a bike--but Karen made me feel completely at ease from the start. Kiwi, my horse, was incredibly patient and gentle with me. I swear she knew I needed a little extra TLC! It made the whole experience so enjoyable and stress-free. I even got to do a tiny bit of trotting, which was such a fun bonus. Overall, it was such a great experience, and I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to try horseback riding or get back into it!

To be transparent up front, never used Galway Downs as an equestrian facility…read more We used the polio field for soccer practice/scrimmage/games when my son played for the Quails. Even though we never participated in any horse events, we loved the facilities overall. The field was always pristine and well cared for. The overall facility was very impressive and the track was always groomed and ready for action. Only real drawbacks are the location. Deep in south Temecula off 79 South and parking was a little rough unless you were willing to off-road a bit to get closer. Other than that, great facility for soccer and I'd imagine the equestrian events would be spectacular in this setting.

I always liked the idea of riding a horse but was always afraid I would fall off and break a few…read morebones. Being completely new I needed someone with a TON of patience. I took lessons at a few other places and couldn't seem to find the right person with the right amount of patience for me (yes I'm that difficult) . I finally got in touch with Amy over at Hanover saddle club and she was able to get me started right away even with my difficult schedule. She was so patient with me, and her love and knowledge about horses was far beyond anything I ever knew. First lesson she let me ride cute little domino (princess pony). It was perfect because I was still not comfortable getting on the big horses - still afraid of falling off. Domino was just the right size for me and she is just so adorable. Now that I have become more comfortable with this horsey stuff I bring my daughter and husband with me for lessons and we all go out on the trails and it is absolutely beautiful with the sunset! Now my 9 year old is riding domino, and my husband loves slack. Currently I'm riding jazz- he is a must ride horse! When you visit please tell Amy I sent you to ride jazz you will love him!!!! I grew up with horses and knew I wanted my daughter to experience that same environment I did as a child. I wasn't sure if she would like it but she ended up LOVING every moment of it. The ladies there are so kind and patient. I can't wait to take my daughter back next week. She is counting the hours to her next lesson. Hanover is the best place to get lessons for riding! She is an outstanding riding instructor but no one receives better care than her horses. Come by and just look at the horses - all are happy and healthy and most live well past their 30's. I think of Hawkrest as "horse heaven" since your horse couldn't be more well cared for. Both of my daughters learned to ride here, and I happily board my horse here - even if I had the ability to keep him at my home, I would entrust him to Hawkrest for the top notch care he receives!
