We saw an Amazon coupon deal for 98£ for two and decided to give this place a try. Located on the 28th floor of the Hilton Park Lane, the views of the surrounding area are breathtaking. Unfortunately, we could not see much from our table but the ambiance was nice anyway. Overall service was good but when delivering dishes, sometimes they announced what the dish was and what was included and other times they did not. The amuse bouche was a not creative. From what I can remember it was some bread sticks and olives. The red mullet lacked flavor an was a bit cold. I am not sure if our experience would have been different had we not used the Amazon deal but the food was just okay for me. Champange Amuse bouche Tomato gazpacho, watermelon, cucumber & bocconcini Red mullet, escabeche & black olive caramel Braised lamb belly, feve, Charlotte pomme ecrasee & herb lamb jus Baked egg custard, rhubard compote, chocolate foam, & honey comb

Galvin is the roof bar & restaurant on the 28th floor of the Hilton Park Lane. If this was NYC or Hong Kong, this bar would look at the side of another building, but being that it is London, you can practically see Iceland. The view of the surrounding area is fantastic. My visits were to the bar only. Most of the seating looks to the west out over Hyde Park and if the sun is out, the sunset. I think the better view is to the east, where you can see the emerging London skyline, including the Shard tower. The music was kind of loungey, downtempo electronic and the décor was modern, but comfy. The service was very good. My drinks came quickly and were well made. The only beef I have is that the drinks were very pricey. I ordered 2 cocktails and the total was around £45. Yikes. Also, the crowd was mainly hotel guests and couples having a "romantic night on the town". Definitely not a happening, go-to hot spot, but it was a fun place for a few drinks. Great place to come after work and have a drink while watching the sun set over London.

Galvin at Windows, featuring head chef Joo Won, is a gorgeous Michelin-starred restaurant overlooking Hyde Park in the London Hilton at Park Lane. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and even playful for such a usually serious atmosphere. One of our servers was a bit overbearing, but she lightened up by the end. We were lucky enough to get a reservation right by the windows! I wish we came during a greener season, but the view was still beautiful. We had their set lunch menu with a starter, main course, and dessert. Fortunately, there were 5 of us, so we had a great family-style tasting of each dish. One of the starters, seared scallop with caviar had a rich, buttery foam and could have passed for an entree. It was so great. The smoked haddock fritters, Moroccan couscous & lemon yogurt were my second favorite starter. My risotto was a bit too rich/creamy for my taste, but a side of their seasoned carrots and lightly dressed salad really evened things out. I highly recommend this place -- the set menu is delicious and does not require you to put out a lot of money for what you get. Yum! They even gave us postcards to send to our friends/family, and sent them off for us!

Lovely restaurant located on the 28th floor within Hilton London hotel. Seems to be a restaurant where people bring their business partners for lunch, there were a few tables of men in suits, ties and brief cases Staffs: Professionally dressed and very friendly, attentive and service was fast. Offered me a postcard (With a picture of the view from your seat), they will send it anywhere it the world if you fill it in, complimentary :) I thought it was a really nice gesture! The view was ok. If you are seated next the to window (depending where) you'd probably get to have an overview of the city. But there's also a seating section where the view faces a large field. I enjoyed the food mains the most. The pork cheeks were soft and juicy, nicely paired with polenta. The portions were ok, not too big but definitely not a tasting menu's size either. I thought the orange cake could have done slightly better. Seems like an OK place to take my parents here for tea or lunch. They would probably appreciate the classic interior and the peaceful scenery.

Amazing venue, service hit or miss, lovely very overpriced cocktails - but this deal wouldn't feed a small child let alone two adults! We had to go for something to eat after. I know it was only £30 but the evening ended up costing £130! Go to M&S and buy the 'picnic' items there/ no difference!

We went to Galvin at Windows for dinner on my girlfriend's birthday. We were given a window table and although it was a cold and rainy evening, the views from the 28th floors were amazing. The food was fantastic and the portions a decent size. The staff were fantastic even before we arrived. Very friendly and helpful. A nice touch was the unexpected chocolates and birthday cake at the end of the meal for my girlfriend. I will definitely go back there again.

For dining or drinks with a view it doesn't get much better than this! We went for early evening drinks with a few bubbles thrown in. We had a booth reserved by the huge window and the view was spectacular - the service was even better, our waitress was so attentive and made sure that our champagne glasses were never less than half full! Make sure you book to get a good seat.

Amazing service and cuisine. Beautiful plating and such delicious and exquisite combinations. Amazing! Definitely a place we will return to on a trip back to London! Professional service provided through the entire restaurant by every member of the staff.

Those of us with family and friends with a penchant for arriving on early morning flights at Heathrow need to know about Galvin at Windows, the amazing top floor restaurant at the Hilton. If you would like to show your jet-lagged guests a stunning early morning view of London, park nearby before the traffic wardens emerge from their holes, march across the foyer, come straight up to the top floor in the lift and be amazed. For years, the buffet breakfast here cost as much as their ticket over, but recently it has been revamped as Gavin at Windows and now coffee and toast can be taken for single figures, while the morning papers and the unique view takes over what little conversation they can manage (from where else can you see into the Queen's garden?).

Did Sunday lunch with my two good friends and took advantage of their £25 menu with champagne thrown in. With wine & service, came to about £60 each. Total Bargain! Service was impeccable. From taking my coat, guiding me through cocktails in the bar menu while we waited for friend to arrive, to escorting us to the table and insisting on bringing our drinks over from the bar. And then fluffing the cushion on my chair while I took a seat not only overlooking Buckingham Palace, but the full view of The Queen's back garden and tennis court. Our waiter was impressive. Totally at ease with the menu, guiding us through selections and his suggested starter (salmon & crab, garnished with caviar) was a dream. The portions are not handsome but they are rich and you will not need anymore. Ahhhh, dessert...followed by coffee and petit fours sighs. The marsh mellows will melt on your tongue. You all need to do Galvin before you die, in case you don't go to heaven. It will make up for it.

I started with the Camembert Frit (Camembert cheese coated in breadcrumbs, fried, and served with redcurrant and raspberry coulis). This was delicious! The cheese paired so well with the raspberry coulis and it was no greasy at all (perfectly fried). For my main course, I got the Steak d'Agneau au Romarin Grilled lamb steak with red wine & rosemary sauce (served with sautéed potatoes). This was delicious as well! The lamb steak was so tender and flavorful and the sauce went so well with it. The potatoes also went very well with the lamb. I have also had their Filets de Cabillaud Rôti (baked cod fillets with sun-dried tomato and cream sauce), served with leek and potato mash. This was excellent! The cod was so fresh and the sauce was to-die-for! I could have licked all of the sauce off of my plate (if it were socially acceptable haha). The sauce was so fresh and paired so well with the fish. The potato mash was also fantastic--perfect texture. For dessert, I had a rhubarb tart. This was delicious! I loved how the tart wasn't too sweet and I could really taste the rhubarb. The service was also excellent. The servers and managers were very attentive and considerate of my husband's allergies. They were super accommodating, which is the reason we came back again! The have a great price for their prixe fixe menu. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! In a nut shell, great service, excellent food, fair prices and great ambience!

The Food: We did the Valentine's set menu, and a fair warning: it creeps up on you! Every course is delicious, but by the time dessert arrived, we were absolutely stuffed. Even if you aren't typically a seafood fan, give it a chance here. The dishes are incredibly approachable, well-balanced, and clearly had a lot of thought put into the flavors. The Vibe & Dress Code: The atmosphere is unmatched, but learn from our mistake! We spent the day exploring Covent Garden and didn't have time to head back and change. You definitely want to dress smart-professional to match the elegance of the restaurant. We felt a little underdressed for the level of experience they provide! Given how difficult it was to get a seat, I would have liked to have been seated in the main dining room with the more impressive array of decorations, but my tiny table tucked away in a corner near the entrance wasn't all bad; decorations were still plentiful, and I didn't feel in the way of passing traffic. With the food, you get what you pay for; which may not be as much as you might think given the "poshness" of the place. Without booze, you shouldn't end up paying more than £50pp. The menu has an array of seasonal favorites like Hertfordshire Beef with a red wine jus, roast chicken with leeks and girolle mushrooms, and seasbass with Autumn vegetables. Seasonal desserts are also available and the booze is seemingly never-ending. You can never go wrong with the chicken here, regardless of season, and with a seasoned sommelier always on-hand, rest assured all your wine pairing needs will be met. The beef and venison dishes are also superb, with both light and hearty sides to compliment them perfectly. Dessert can be a hit or miss. I didn't like my first experience here with the Delice, but my second experience was a delicious poached pear with a superb buckwheat ice cream and buckwheat-infused biscuit. I paired mine with the recommended Bordeaux wine to wash down the sweetness, and let me tell you, it was an extra £14 well spent. Overall, this isn't the type of place you visit every week, or even every month, but it's definitely worth planning months in advance to come during the hholiday season. Reservations are a MUST.
