    where's the recession? the restaurant was totally packed on a tues night??? the atmosphere was rather noisy. not a good romantic date place. thanks to robin s. i pre-ordered the whole roast black leg chicken stuffed with foie gras when making reservations for dinner. service was good, fast friendly and efficient. we were kindly advised that the portion for the chicken was good for sharing. so we ordered 2 starters and a side of green beans. fresh lemon and vine ripened tomatoes sit on the table. you cut and eat what you want. a nice touch indeed. the first starter was warm buratta with tomatoes, olive oil and basil. the sweetness of the tomatoes together with the warm creamy buratta was delicious. the onion tart with anchovies was disappointing though. way too sweet with little or no anchovy taste. then came the star event which took more than an hour to cook. the whole chicken is good for sharing among 3 adults! it's that huge. clearly the legs of the chicken were black in colour. i found the chicken tough instead of tender. the foie gras added a richness that made the dish tastier but at the same time quickly filling. the two of us could not finish it. at 55 pounds, it might cause some financial crisis after consumption!:) the side of green beans were overcooked and rather heavily salted. dessert was lemon and vodka sorbet. good palate cleanser but not so strong in the vodka department. a 12.5% service charge is automatically added to the bill. judging by the turnout on a weekday evening, it must offer more than what i have experienced. for now it's only a-ok for me.

    Just a perfect place for summer lunch. Bright room. Delightful, light cuisine. Good complimentary wine list. Nice positive energy. Nothing wrong for a summer lunch.

    This would rate at the top for favorite restaurant in London. If you want to dine here be sure to get reservations in advance. It's a small restaurant and seating limited. We started with the white truffle pasta 120 pounds. A special dish but I would say the macaroni was to heavy for the delicate shaved truffles. We tried to request linguine but you know how Chefs do not like you to modify their dishes. The duck and Dover Sole were amazing. Fancy restaurant but they put your bread on the table and leave out a tomato and lemon for you to cut and eat, was interesting. In the picture was a glass if amazing wine, steep in price but worth it!

    Easily one of the best meals I've had in London. Scallops carpaccio to start was amazing and sea bass baked in salt was so tender it melted in my mouth. Champagne by the glass - good selection and a Sauternes for dessert. Service was impeccable yet not pretentious. The bar staff appear to have a lot of fun while doing their job, which was contagious. I'll be back with friends next time.

I started with the Camembert Frit (Camembert cheese coated in breadcrumbs, fried, and served with redcurrant and raspberry coulis). This was delicious! The cheese paired so well with the raspberry coulis and it was no greasy at all (perfectly fried). For my main course, I got the Steak d'Agneau au Romarin Grilled lamb steak with red wine & rosemary sauce (served with sautéed potatoes). This was delicious as well! The lamb steak was so tender and flavorful and the sauce went so well with it. The potatoes also went very well with the lamb. I have also had their Filets de Cabillaud Rôti (baked cod fillets with sun-dried tomato and cream sauce), served with leek and potato mash. This was excellent! The cod was so fresh and the sauce was to-die-for! I could have licked all of the sauce off of my plate (if it were socially acceptable haha). The sauce was so fresh and paired so well with the fish. The potato mash was also fantastic--perfect texture. For dessert, I had a rhubarb tart. This was delicious! I loved how the tart wasn't too sweet and I could really taste the rhubarb. The service was also excellent. The servers and managers were very attentive and considerate of my husband's allergies. They were super accommodating, which is the reason we came back again! The have a great price for their prixe fixe menu. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! In a nut shell, great service, excellent food, fair prices and great ambience!

Given how difficult it was to get a seat, I would have liked to have been seated in the main dining room with the more impressive array of decorations, but my tiny table tucked away in a corner near the entrance wasn't all bad; decorations were still plentiful, and I didn't feel in the way of passing traffic. With the food, you get what you pay for; which may not be as much as you might think given the "poshness" of the place. Without booze, you shouldn't end up paying more than £50pp. The menu has an array of seasonal favorites like Hertfordshire Beef with a red wine jus, roast chicken with leeks and girolle mushrooms, and seasbass with Autumn vegetables. Seasonal desserts are also available and the booze is seemingly never-ending. You can never go wrong with the chicken here, regardless of season, and with a seasoned sommelier always on-hand, rest assured all your wine pairing needs will be met. The beef and venison dishes are also superb, with both light and hearty sides to compliment them perfectly. Dessert can be a hit or miss. I didn't like my first experience here with the Delice, but my second experience was a delicious poached pear with a superb buckwheat ice cream and buckwheat-infused biscuit. I paired mine with the recommended Bordeaux wine to wash down the sweetness, and let me tell you, it was an extra £14 well spent. Overall, this isn't the type of place you visit every week, or even every month, but it's definitely worth planning months in advance to come during the hholiday season. Reservations are a MUST.
