Always and I mean always have everything you need don't want to drive to Elk Grove or Lodi ace is the place in Galt.

I love going in there. They always help me find what I need, and if I don't know exactly what I need they help me figure it out. The girls worked hard to get one of my tools unlocked. I give them props for hiring great staff. read more

So disappointed in Galt Ace Hardware. I always try and shop local to support local businesses but the customer service at Galt Ace Hardware is so horrible that I can't ignore it any longer. Placed a small order online for pick up that included hardware A 10 ft CVC pipe and a few other items. Arrived showed my confirmation code was given some paperwork to sign and then the girl at the front desk handed me all of the items, including the 10 foot pipe. I asked if there was anyone available that could help me take the pipe to my car and she looked at me and said no sorry . So I turned to leave but I couldn't open the door holding the 10 foot pipe so I turned to look at her and she just stared at me with a little smile on her face as she stood there and watched me struggle, so I eventually opened the door by pushing it open with the pipe. Thanks for helping the senior citizen Galt Ace Hardware!! read more

There's 10 people in line, 5 employees walking around the store, and only one register open. I could have gone to Elk Grove Home Depot and back with how long it took to check out. read more

Came in close to closing to pick out some paint and found the perfect Magnolia color. There was a hiccup with the original mix, but Adrian (I believe that was his name) went above and beyond. He recommended a high-quality alternative that was on sale and matched the color perfectly. He even took the time to bring our gallons of paint up front, no one does that any more! He was kind, knowledgeable, and super helpful -- exactly the kind of service that makes a place stand out. I've always liked Ace, but because of Adrian, this location is now my go-to. As someone who works in HR at Chick-fil-A and values top-tier customer service, I just want to say: great job, Ace. You've got a real gem on your team! read more

Used to shop here all the time. Went in this morning with a broken shower part and needed a replacement that I found on their website. The gentleman who I asked to help find it didn't help at all. He gaslighted me, telling there was no way he could know what part was needed. Had the part number and everything with me. Never again. read more

The rack for my mobility scooter lost a bolt so I couldn't get in the store. They came out and I gave them the bolt I needed replaced. Outstanding customer service and great people to do business with. Thank you for all the help. It would have been very difficult to accomplish this fix without their help. read more

Rudest, most useless staff. I have tried getting paint here to be told the machine is broken for weeks. Then online it shows they will get it delivered from other stores at no cost. Nope. Called to see if you have a part, confirmed by staff only to arrive to have none. Staff are dismissive and clueless. Thanks for nothing ace read more

Typically Ace is more expensive but great service. Not here. Sales Manager appeared not to be bothered and would not walk with me to the isle and promised to send someone. Of course did not happen. Also, some of the isles are blocked off and you need the ever absent personnel to walk with you. Nice treating your customers like thieves and then not helping them. No expertise, extremely dirty store, cashiers very busy chatting, badly stocked isle. Why would you pay more minus the service? Take the extra 10 minutes and go to Home Depot. I only went to this poorly run establishment because its convenient. Its not worth it and a poster child of why small businesses fail. read more

So... first time coming here because we were on a mission to get a Weed Eater. Found it online for $94.99. When we first walked in, it was funny that they had a little bit of everything, I liked that part, but frankly you would have hard time finding anything because it's discombobulated. Things are piled up and so disorganized... Anyways back to the reason we came here. They had the Weed Eater we wanted in stock for $119.99. Hubby showed him their online price. And they said they can order one and give it to us for $94.99, but couldn't give us the one that they already had in stock. Can I ask why that is? They lost a sale. No logic right there. read more

I have never seen a worse example of what not to do in guest service. It's funny, in the day of Amazon, the life blood of a local small business is guest service. You greet customers when they walk in the door, not about at them that they need to leave your backpack at the front door. Than, if you don't want a customer with a backpack in your store, than when he asks you to get carpet cleaner he can pay for it and leave; than help him instead of physically trying to intimidate him. Lastly, when the customer asks for the manager, don't lie and say he isn't there, and if a customer asks for there Corporate number offer to them please. read more

Compared to nearby Aces this one is by far the most expensive. They have a decent selection after the upgrade but with Homedepot 15 mins away this is def just a last-minute kind of place unless you have money to burn. For the most part, they have a good staff unless you get there after 6. Normally stores begin shutting down after the stores close unless it's slow but at this ace it can be 6:10 and they act as you just walked in 2 min before closing and are too busy pulling pallets and cleaning up to help with basic things like cutting wire, I ended up cutting it myself after waiting 10 mins while the door greeter sits up front doing jack. I don't get why they close at 630 anyways why not round it to 7? Every Friday I stop at the atm after work usually around 645 and tons of people pull up to shop but it's closed. Why lose all that business to homedepot, tractor supply, or Walmart. read more

This is a fun store! Almost more fun then perusing Orchard Supply! They had a great sale over Fourth of July. I ordered a couple items and the closest store that had them was the Galt Ace. They have a whole lot of items and a little bit of everything. One issue...this is not a company owned store. It is a franchise. So if you wish to return an item that you purchased at the ace online site there could be an issue. But with their helpful and friendly employees we got it solved. I just wish the store was closer because I'd like to spend more time shopping there. "Ace is the place of the helpful hardware person!" :-) read more

Galt Ace Hardware - They carry some Craftsman (Sears) products - Hardware Stores Near Me - Galt, California

Don't waste your time. They remodeled and stop carrying a lot of hardware items. No door shower seals and no staining rags. Seriously, these are basic items with no place on the shelf read more

Unprofessional staff, high prices, rude Mgmt. Very poor shopping experience. I'll never return.

Awful customer service. Rude employees. Seemed like the manager up front had rude comments, definitely not worried about being friendly or customer service oriented. Place has gone down hill. I have spent a lot of money here over the last 15 years. I will never spend another penny at Galt Ace Hardware. read more

Been a long time resident Of galt,20+ years. Always went to Ace versus the big box stores just simply for the customer service. Didn't mind paying more than the big box stores because of the customer service. But I've been in there four times during this lengthy remodel. And I have never met more rude kids running the place in my entire life. Store Shows they close at seven got there at 6:28 and they tell me were closed. I said but the app says seven? Some Voice from in the back says well there's a sign on the door as you come in. In the old days even if you were there close to closing they would attempt to help you with good customer service and knowing the customers important. The answer I got was come back tomorrow when we're open. And four of them were just standing around in a casual conversation at the front of the store while the open sign still flashed in the front window. The time before was just trying to buy some drillbits. This was in the middle of a Saturday and was told they're in a tub somewhere and the gentleman walked away. I stood there in disbelief what happened to customer service. After 20+ years of shopping there I will definitely make a point no matter what to go elsewhere. Another service organization changes with the times. No longer the helpful hardware store. read more

This store is in need of TLC and elbow. Grease. Surprised ACE Corp allows this poorly stocked messy location with grumpy employees to be an ACE affiliate. Oh, and their prices are really high. Find an alternative source, better yet get Young ACE of Lockeford and Lodi locations to buyout and run this store. read more

Don't go on the weekends. There's no one at the desk to greet you or ask questions - all I wanted was some mulch outside. There were 2 long lines for the cashiers. I asked if someone could help me outside as nothing was priced. An unpleasant cashier told me I would have to wait in line to get the price. Come on now. And the stuff should have been priced. Would you wait in some long line just to find a price? Isn't Ace the place with the great customer service ready to help. Not on weekends! read more

Galt Ace is an ace like any other. If you're me, the employees ignore you because you're a minority, and spend their time meandering around the store in some trivial pursuit of items that probably do not exist. They do have a fine selection of items you'd normally find at a hardware store. But here's the thing that separates the Galt Ace from all others. I was looking for something down an isle, when I overheard an employee talking to a customer. I didn't catch the entire conversation, but the employee, an older Caucasian man, said "...just like those little China men." The normal reaction when using racial slurs is to look around to see if any minorities are present, which this man did, only to see me staring back at them. The man then walked away. What a town! read more

Literally heard employees over the walkie telling each other to follow my husband, toddler, and I. I'm in there often, tf you think I'm doing? Just because I know where items are that we are PURCHASING. Super unprofessional. read more

Went there today and the older woman cashier and a couple of the guys helping people on the floor were not wearing masks. Stopped by store this morning for a garden spigot repair. I had tried to remove the washer screw with a phillips and messed it up. Steven, and employee graciously offered to try to remove the screw and help me replace the washer/seal that was too old to stop the spigot from leaking. In about fifteen minutes he replaced the screw and seal, for a total cost of 1.06. Of course I will buy other items in the store as he made me feel important and the service really was worth far more than the purchase this time. read more

This is what happens when you hire teenagers to work at a place like this. I came in to this store countless times to buy fire stove pellets. Every single time I go to this store all off the workers there seem to be more involved with having other conversation while I am at the counter instead of assisting me. I do not have any specific names but I do not need them. Since I have been there I have been treated like I am a huge inconvenience. This is unacceptable read more

This place is great! You are greeted immediately upon entering and they are quick to help you find whatever it is you need. It is seriously a full service hardware store. The management is shady. The employees are helpful though. Jenna up front is really nice. Amber the "manager" wouldn't honor a raincheck on an item in the ad I purchased a week ago that says "Rainchecks are honored" unless I had the original receipt even though they pulled up the item in their computer with my number. I asked if they could just reprint but because I was trying to get the sale price they would not! Lucky for me I had the receipt at home. And once I brought receipt back Amber said "Oh well I thought she paid more, I would have just done it then." Not customer friendly in that sense. I mean because it's local I'll be back for things we need quick but I would prefer home depot. Sad because I would rather put my money into local businesses. read more

Always friendly, helpful, and super knowledgeable. Good selection of hardware. This is my first stop if I need something for the ranch. I will never go shop there again will gorequest for full refund. Rick (manager) at the entrance greeted me. Told me to go aisle 19 someone will be there. Same person embarrassed me while I checked out at the register.. lashed out and said it so loud so many others inside the store heard.... "we dont give out free stuffs" Behind me 2 customers (waiting) and by Rick at least 2 employees and cashier and many others. I think he is races (am Asian, he is White) for .78 cents total charges for less than $2 out the door. Is that right things for him to judge me? WFH... I gived the helper a note. The helper checked out few pieces and found me scrape piece. He said they sale by foot. Helper said "you are good" (unsure what he meant) I will cut you piece. I am okay you sale me a foot and return the rest..no prob. I walked to register. Cashier asked me I said 2 of these.. as the cut pipe the young said called it is good. You need to called him.. she got on speaker asking. Rick heard it and said we never give anything for free in front of all customers and to his employees. I didnt asked for free stuffs. What give him rights to say ? People like Rick lashed out at me will not have me as a return customer. read more

So I go in because the husband sends me for some plumbing parts for the guest bathroom sink. I take a picture of the part and the size he needs. I'm immediately greeted and informed Dan will be assisting me in the plumbing aisle. I showed Dan the picture and told him the size my husband was requesting. It took less than 5 minutes and Dan ensured me that my husband could use this kit for what he was seeking. Then I asked if he could assist me in seeking a light bulb for one of those scented wax lamps. Without hesitation he found it as well. I thanked him for his help and joked with Dan when he said he'd see me later! I told him I hope not too soon because if I had that meant the husband was sending me back because I got the wrong part. He laughed along and I appreciated not only his knowledgeable and patient assistance but also for his sense of humor!!! This is what makes this place outstanding!!!! Yep, the light bulb and kit all fit without me having to make a 2nd trip!!! Thank YOU Dan!!! read more
