have had several complaints made to corporate over the past few years. Nothing is ever done. So…read morethis is probably a waste of time. All you need to do is look at the customer reviews for the Sandusky Ohio location. I was desperate for a place with weekend hours. That's how these corporate places always have customers coming back. Since last Friday 2/14, I now know my local Ford has service hours on Saturdays. So I will NOT be returning First off, Firestone claims that I need control arms on rear if my Edge. This is hard to believe since the shaking I am feeling is in my steering wheel and brake pedal. Secondly, why does your techs NEVER take my vehicle for a drive before looking at car and pulling straws? Why did the interior of my edge have greasy finger prints on the visor, above drivers door, and below my panorama sunroof?????! When I noticed it as soon as I got home and went to open garage door for house, I backed right up and took it back. Tony was VERY RUDE!!!! He made it seem like it was already like that when I took it there. Excuse me????? I demanded that it be cleaned and look like it did when I dropped it off! About 20-25 minutes later it was clean. Too bad corporate doesn't allow me to post these pictures in my review! I love how the company takes down bad reviews on Google. Miraculously, they have 4.3 stars on there. They should only be doing tires and oil changes!!!!

What a sh1t show. Overbooked. The techs are in no hurry at all. They may or may not do the work…read morewhen they say. They definitely won't call you and let you know what's going on. You will have to track them down yourself and badger them for answers. I've always gone to Firestone and now this particular store ruined it.

They got me in quickly, found the hole, and patched it. There was one person ahead of me, and even with that I was on my way in about an hour. Multiple issues at this store…read more On Wednesday, June 10th, took my wife's car in to see if a nail in her tire could be repaired. Left the car with them after dropping it off with their manager, Ray. Received a call from Ivy later in the day, she said it was repaired and ready to pick up. Went in to pick it up, paid, walked out to the car and the nail was still in the tire. Went back in and the manager told her he said it wasn't repairable. He got me a refund. We then ordered tires, Continentals with an 80,000 mile warranty, excellent ratings for wet/snow traction, and was told to bring the car back on Thursday morning for installation. Was told it would include free alignment, a $110 rebate, and a free oil change. We advised him not to do the oil change as one was just completed on the car very recently. He said he would note that and we could use the free oil change at a later date. On Thursday, June 11th, dropped the car off to Ivy at the shop. She couldn't find the tire order. Called her manager who placed the order, he advised where it was located and she found it. Left the car there at approximately 10am. Received a call later in the day around 3:30 or so and told to pick up the car. Went in to pay, the bill was lower than quoted, handed Ivy the money and she then told me they put completely different tires on the car, Coopers that had the same 80,000 mile warranty and similarly or better we/snow traction. She handed me the receipt and then also said the oil change was completed. At that point I looked at the receipt and saw the Coopers only had a 65,000 mile warranty. I asked her why we were never contacted about the different tires, she said she could not explain. I asked her about why they did the oil change after explicitly saying not to. She could not explain. She said she would call her manager to get this resolved and to just drive on the tires until they get the right ones in. She said she would call us later to let us know what the next steps would be. She never called us. On Friday, June 12th, I drove back out there and talked with the manager, Ray. He was advised of everything that happened. He explained that the wrong size Continental tires were ordered. I advised I was upset over never being contacted and approval never being given for the Coopers to be put on. I advised that after researching the tire model put on, it is a mid tier/budget option with wet/snow ratings below the tires we wanted along with it being only a 65,000 mile tire. He said the only place he can get the Continentals from is Tirerack.com and it will take longer to get them. He said they cost more as well. I advised that at this point I am not paying anything more than I already have due to 2 unauthorized services being done to my wife's car and multiple days of having to use up my time and us being without our vehicle, once they got the tires in it will be day 4 of being inconvenienced. He said he would have to contact his district manager to get approval for this. I advised I just wanted this resolved in an appropriate way. He apologized and said he would call me back later in the day and let me know how this would be handled. We never received a call back. It's now Monday and I had to call Mr. Tire myself. Ivy took the call shortly before 10am. She said Ray was not there but would be back soon. Still waiting for a call back. Be cautious with who you take your vehicle to. Update: July 7th of 2026: Had to get corporate involved and they resolved the problem by having the correct tires put on at a different location (Tire Choice in Norwalk, Ohio). Mr. Tire in Sandusky did not once reach out or try to call us back to resolve what should have been a simple fix. I will never go back to that store. However, corporate did a very good job resolving this problem. Kudos to Tire Choice and Jason in particular for handling this professionally. Highly recommend Tire Choice in Norwalk.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR OR BOAT TRAILER HERE!!!!!!! If I could…read moregive it no Stars, I would. My boat trailer boat down last Memorial Day weekend. A friend recommended I have the boat towed here for repair. Maag's did the repair and WAY overcharged me for parts by about at least $400. I had my trailer serviced this spring on the eastside of Cleveland, they did a great job cleaning the spindels and repacking the bearings so there should have been no issue for the entire season. After trailer the boat 7 times this year (approx 900 miles) this season, both sets of bearings (inner and outer) failed on the driver side this week and I was broke down, JUST LIKE WHAT I WAS TRYING TO PREVENT. I have never seen inner bearing fail on a trailer before. I got the trailer fixed and while driving it home from the parking lot I repaired it at, I realized the passenger bearings were also bad. Cheap parts, over-priced service. The friend who recommended Maag's to me will no longer be using this service. When I called today to complain about this. The owner hung up the phone on me. Great customer service. I think that says it all.......

It's becoming increasingly rare to find a repair shop that takes the time to listen, explain things clearly, and truly put the customer first. Walt and his team are knowledgeable, responsive, and clearly take pride in their work. What impressed me most was their integrity and willingness to help rather than simply sell services. They made what could have been a stressful situation incredibly easy and straightforward. Definitely less expensive than I thought it would be. If you're looking for a trustworthy local repair shop that values its customers and stands behind its work, I highly recommend Walt's Auto Repair & Towing. Sandusky is fortunate to have a business like this in the community. Thank you, Walt and team, for the outstanding service!

Full disclosure - I think the problem started when he confused me with my sister-in-law, who's name…read moreis also Tiffany LaCourse. She's had some issues with him recently and I don't think he realizes we are two different people. That having been said - my son was in an accident last month (June 7th 2025) and Walt's Towing ended up towing his car. When I picked my son up from the scene, they weren't sure what tow company would take the car, so the sheriff gave me his card with the report number on it and said the tow company would get in touch with me. No one ever called me, and I was completely slammed between work, my boys' baseball schedules, my mom's doctors appointments, and everything else going on. I talked to my insurance company (State Farm) immediately after the accident, filed a claim, and they said they would make sure the car was at a facility that didn't charge storage and if it wasn't - they'd have it moved somewhere that wouldn't charge for storage. I assumed since I never heard anything more from my insurance or the towing company - that there was nothing to worry about. Weeks after the accident - on Friday, June 21 2025 - Walt and his girlfriend showed up at my house at close to 8pm when my husband and I were in Ashland at a baseball tournament and he scared my elderly mom and my 9 year old son. He gave my mom a copy of the police report with a POST IT NOTE attached with a price of $1,398.13 handwritten on it (see attached photo) and said he needs to be paid ASAP and I need to get my car. That is NOT an invoice - let alone itemized. I still to this day have not received an invoice. I called the police on him that night and made a report. I've tried to reach him and so has my cousin Richard (who tows vehicles) numerous times to get the car - so the storage fees would stop - and he hasn't answered or reached back out to either of us. Now this weekend - July 19 2025 - I got served with small claims court papers. He's taking me to court for almost $2400! And he still has my son's car and has still has never returned any calls to this day! I fully intend to file with the BBB, Ohio Secretary of State, ODOT, and any other authority I can to have this remedied.
