Gregg, the owner of Galloping Groomers has been grooming my pups for 12 years. We had a golden doodle pup that no other groomer we took her to could handle. She was frightened, skiddish & non-compliant. Gregg was recommended to me by another golden owner whose dog had similar issues. From the 1st time he came to our home, he put Bailey at ease enough for her to be able to be groomed. His many years of experience certainly showed & he still comes to our home every 5 wks for our pups. Last year he even noticed an abnormality on her paw which unfortunately was cancer & led to her passing in April. Gregg is awesome & the convenience of a mobile groomer is an extra plus. read more

We were not pleased at all with this groomer. Due to van trouble the morning of our appointment, the start time was delayed. Unfortunately, we didn't get the call about this until the time when he was supposed to be here. We agreed to accommodate a later time that same day. But when he hadn't arrived at the revised time, we had to call him to see where he was. His response was "I would've liked to have been there by now, too." A more conciliatory tone would've been much more appropriate since we were accommodating his schedule at this point. Upon arrival, when he asked how we wanted our dog's hair to be cut, we said "only a little bit" and "not short at all." When we got our dog back, he was cut extremely short and practically shaved in some areas! When we pointed this out, he said "Well, that's how I would've had it cut." Overall, the groomer was gruff and not overly friendly on the day of service. We would not recommend this groomer. read more

Greg did such an awesome job with coco. He doesn't do bows or bandanas or anything like that but he's patient with a fussy dog like my coco. She doesn't like it when you brush her legs, so often times she becomes very matted. This being said, Cocos haircut became shorter than I'd like, but hair grows back. It's such s great convenience to that he comes to your house. All he needs is an electrical outlet to plug his dryer/buzzer in. If also have us a peace of mind that your dog is right outside your house and is being taken care of. A+ for Greg the galloping groomer! :-) read more

What ever you do dog owners who love their canine companions should stay as far away from these groomers as they have no idea what they are doing!! My beloved pal went into their truck a handsome devil and reappeared an hour later completely massacred. They obviously don't have a clue how to give a proper grooming!! Looks like they blindfolded themselves and shaved him from head to toe! Will never use these guys again and neither should anyone else who cares about their beloved pets. I am all about this guy and the convenience he provides. My cocker spaniels are fussy with grooming (which many cockers are). Greg hooked then up with a perfect groom without incident. I have had my dog groomed by Greg 3-4 times. My dog is a retriever mix and has gorgeous red hair. When Greg usually arrives, I am there to greet him and let him know to just trim Dewey (my dog). He always did a nice job until this last time. He was running late- he had told me he would arrive between 11 and 12 and didn't arrive until about 1230pm-and I couldn't stay home bc I had plans to attend my brother's graduation so my husband decided to stay home and greet him since Dewey really needed a trim and bath. I came home to see that Dewey's beautiful coat had been shaved very closely, was uneven in places, and an area behind his ear had been knicked. I called Greg today (the day after the groom) to discuss how upset I was and what had gone wrong. I absolutely understand and acknowledge that it could have been a miscommunication, since my husband asked for a "tight" trim, but I spoke to 3 other groomers today to ask their opinion and they said that is like asking a hair stylist for a "long pixie cut"- I would have expected a professional dog groomer to take the time to have the knowledge and explain that retrievers coats should not be cut close, if you look at the before and after pictures I posted you will see exactly what I'm talking about, I don't mean to be insulting but I am not a dog groomer and it seems like just common sense. That being said, he was nice enough to take the time to talk to me on the phone about the situation. I also asked him why he had t mentioned anything about the cut behind Dewey's ear and he said he "hadn't noticed" because he was tired. That is concerning to me, but just like with the shave there isn't much of anything I can do about it now. He explained his lateness as being due to the nature of the job l, the cut as a miscommunication, and the knick as a mistake. I forgot to mention to him on the phone the uneven cut, but you can clearly see it in pictures. All together prompted me to write a review, since I use reviews frequently to help me choose different services. I cannot stress enough that I am not disputing that my husband asked for something that was misleading/unclear, but the more I look at my dog the more upset I am that a professional would shave a retrievers coat that close, and he is charging professional prices. I am aware that coats grow back and am praying that his hair grows back healthy and with no issues, if it does I will update this review and leave an additional star. I hate to leave a negative review based on one bad experience, but my dog is a part of my family and this was a really bad experience. I asked for a refund, but he said he doesn't really do that but would offer me a discount for his next groom, although I do not intend to have Dew groomed by him again either way, he is a nice person but the work and pictures speak for themselves. read more

I have seen this van around my neighborhood for quiet sometime, and yesterday I decided to call and make an appt. Greg came to my home on the time schedule, he did my two dogs in two hours. Our 11 year old Corgi had a bad experience two years ago at a groomer and we have put off taking her back because we didn't want to subject her to undue stress. Greg was so patient with her and she took to him immediately - she was not upset or nervous around him at all. Having him come to your house and being able to have her groomed in our driveway made all the difference, we didn't have to leave her someone for hours or have her put in a cage. It is worth every penny. She looks great and was a great experience. We will definitely be calling Greg again when she is ready for her next cut! read more

My story is similar to Regina R. We have a Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees with a thick, soft, beautiful golden cream coat. My fiancee asked the groomer to cut Seneca's fur short. He came back to us shaved nearly down to his skin. This was about 3 months ago. I became concerned because his fur was barely growing back, especially the soft under coat. I looked up grooming on the internet and found out that a double coated dog should NEVER be shaved. According to other groomers even if a customer asks a groomer to shave their double coated dog the groomer should let them know it is not advised. According to other groomers his coat may never be the same. He still has no undercoat and the outer coat is coming in coarse and uneven. Seneca loves cold weather. He might need a sweater this year. I'm sad to say that I am highly disappointed. I read such great reviews on this groomer and expected professional service. But instead I witnessed abuse and unprofessional reactions. I'll be the first to admit that my little Pekingese is terrified of doctors and groomers, so when o called galloping groomers I made a point to tell them that my little might try to bite. When the man arrived my dog did just that, but didn't make any contact. The man was able to but on the leash and walk my dog out of the house without a problem, until my dog saw the van. He then sat and instead of the groomer trying to coax him or asking for my assistance he proceeded to drag my dog across my pathway to the van. I was not happy about that but again I somewhat understood. When my dog entered the truck he was so terrified that he peed and the groomer then yelled about the small accident and then picked my dog up holding him by the tail and choke leash to put him on the table. I'm sorry but after seeing that I lost it!!!. If you were a professional working with animals you got to expect accidents. Many animals pee in fear and excitement! To angrily pick up any animal by the tail and choke them with a leash is not going to help their extreme fear. That is abusive and down right unprofessional. I was standing right there you could have asked nicely for me to assist you until my dog felt more comfortable. My dog is not afraid of any other groomer he has gone to. We decide to try a mobile groomer only for the convenience. I'm sorry I left my other groomer and will be heading right back there!
