After getting a recommendation on Facebook for a specific cat groomer for my Maine Coon, I took him to Pet Oasis today. The groomer Ashley claimed to be a Maine Coon groomer of six years. My Son and I left him at 1 pm and picked him up at 3 pm. I couldn't see the full cut because my baby was climbing all over me. We get home and he is omg butchered!!! While there I still felt a matt and asked her to cut it out. I get home and omg he looks terrible!!! His cut is completely choppy, totally uneven and his mane is chopped up badly! I texted her that I wasn't happy and she told me she could fix it. I told her I was completely unhappy and that it was so uneven everywhere. She then calls me and is yelling at me that she had no time to do it properly because she only had 2 hours with him. Andddd calls me "A fat ugly bitch!!" Then hangs up!! $90 and I gave her a $25 tip for this?? STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! The most unprofessional "groomer" I have ever met!!!! He looks terrible!!!! read more

Completely unhelpful. Both woman who work here are always on their lap tops and cellphones. One even wears the headset and locks herself inside. You have to knock on the door during open business hours? Some items on the shelf are expired and no one cares. The loyalty program is a joke. I've been coming for years and have yet to receive a discount on anything. Don't ask for a sign up if you don't offer the incentive back to your customers. Hire someone who is passionate about the job, actively seeks out to help customers, checks the shelf's for any expired items or coach your employees on basic interacting skills. Pathetic. read more

Hi so this is my second time with Christina and she's great. Her personality with my dogs is so sweet, they actually want to walk into the store and they go to her voluntarily, they love her. So happy with her cuts and skills, and she's sweet. Downside, she's only at this location once a week for a couple of hours.. . And alex, the guy at the register is so cool and accommodating. Anything u need, if he has it he'll be sure u get it or try his best to help u out.. And even have a high school internship for kids. How great is that?? We took our 6 month old Shih Tzu puppy Teddy to his first professional grooming appointment at Pet Oasis with Francesca and we absolutely loved her. She was so patient with him and did a really great job. You can tell when someone is a true animal lover. The appointment was under an hour which I think is great timing and not too much stress on the animal. Teddy was really happy after his appointment and looked really good. I took Daisy to get groomed at Pet Oasis on Hylan Blvd with the groomer, Rhonda! This was Daisy's first grooming experience and I am so glad I chose Pet Oasis! I was always worried to bring Daisy to a groomer because Daisy is a very nervous pup an does not let strangers touch her, if they do she yelps, squirms, jumps and bites; very uncomfortable when she's nervous. I let the groomer know ahead of time about Daisy to make sure she would be comfortable and thankfully she was! I did bring a muzzle for Daisy for the groomers protection, and Rhonda did a great job working around Daisy's muzzle. Rhonda was very patient with Daisy, she tried her best to make her comfortable and really took her time. I'm so pleased with how they treated Daisy and how great of a job they did. With the way my dog is, I did stay with the groomer to control the dog, so if you feel like you have to do that, they won't have a problem with you staying which is grThe employees are also extremely friendly and social! Today, October 11th at 12:15 PM I went in Pet Oasis on Hylan Blvd in New Dorp. Upon entering the store the first thing there is, is the cash register counter. There is a girl behind the counter, long braid and dark brown hair with bangs, who did not have her mask on. I asked "Can you please put your mask on?" she gave me a dirty look and slowly raised her bandana, which hung around her neck to cover her mouth. I waited by the door for her to put it up completely and she said "you can come in I'm not gonna bite you." I replied "You're not going to bite me?" I am waiting for you to put your mask over your nose. She looked at me with daggers in her eyes and turned her head. I told her I don't think your manager will be happy with this. Two weeks ago when I went into the store she was eating at the counter and chatting with her coworker and I refrained from asking to put the mask on because she was eating. Honestly, you don't know if people are coming in with compromised immune systems and it is a risk to come in at all. My daughter told me to inform management, however I gave the benefit of the doubt, however I see I was mistaken. There is a young man who works often during the week and when I ask him he immediately puts it on correctly. When anyone enters the store the protocol should be to put the mask on properly. I know the manager Samantha expects so much more from her workers and values her customers. I had a third situation with the same girl, at the time her hair was purple, however again I refrained from asking. How dare she answer I'm not going to bite you and try to demean me or my situation. I am making a formal complaint to the Pet Oasis Corporation as well and expect this young lady to be reprimanded if not fired. read more

I was refer to Pet Oasis on Hylan by my dogs vet. He is a 2 year old shin tzu who all of a sudden had food issues. Looked like he was allergic to chicken. When I went in I had no idea what I was looking for or what kind of food I wanted for him. Just wanted him to get better. After a very informational conversation with Sam about different foods I decided to go with the raw diet. She said Teddy might not like it right away but the many benefits. Samantha the Manager took extra care when I changed Harry's wet food from Blue Buffalo to another brand. She was patient and knowledgeable and recommended a few she thought were best for Harry based on the questions she asked about his likes and dislikes. This pet store recently opened up down the block from us. Went in there and explained to the employee that our dog has a very sensitive stomach and we were looking to switch his diet. He was extremely helpful and knowledgable. He gave us samples of food for us to try with our dog. After today's experience I will never shop in another local pet store. I've never in my life had such an amazing experience and a wonderful relationship with knowledgeable people who truly LOVE what they do especially their groomer DOLORES! As well as the rest of the staff! They are highly educated on what's best for our fur babies when it comes to food, treats, and toys!
