Came in a few days go for food and treats for my cats. One has a sensitive stomach and I knew I can find the right food for him in a mom and pop pet store. The place was nice and clean and they had a store puppy !!! It was super cute and friendly. But I found great healthy grain free and healthy choices for my cat and he has been good since I bought his food there. Little pricy but usually is at a mom and pop store. read more

Allison the groomer is Awesome! I brought my Golden Retriever in for a summer cut and got exactly what I wanted. I had stopped by a few days earlier to inquire about getting an appointment and met with Allison for a consult. She was so nice and encouraged me to bring in a picture if I had something particular in mind. "I'll try my best" she said. As a salon owner, I certainly did have something particular in mind. So I made my appointment and brought my precious Sugar Bear in with a pic from the internet. Thirty minutes later, my dog looks exactly like the pic. Needless to say, she made me SO happy! ps- The owner is very helpful and carries an extensive variety of top of the line products at reasonable prices. read more

I chose pet oasis after reviewing them on yelp. Up to that point I was very disappointed with dog groomers in Staten Island with their attitude, scheduling 2 weeks in advance and very expensive prices ($95 for a beagle, are you kidding me?!!). From the moment I called Pet Oasis until I walked out of there, I felt I was treated right as a customer, the staff really loved the animals, great cut and very reasonable price! I've called for an appointment 5 times over the period of a month and was promised the groomer would call me back as she was unavailable at the time and each of the 5 times I never received a call back. I spend a decent amount of money in the store but I guess they don't want my business or my money anymore. I like to support mom & pop stores but, time to move on. read more

I am writing this because I'm extremely angry at Pet Oasis. My dog had beautiful hair. There was some matting but if a good groomer took the time to try and comb them out, she wouldn't have had to shave my poor puppy. She never called me to tell me that she was going to shave him. I'm completely devastated. My dog has no hair. She did a terrible job and left him with skin. Shame on you for not consulting. She claims she told my husband but he told her to call me. She kept pictures of the matting. That's no excuse for not calling me. I should have known when you finished in 40 minutes. Maybe don't book so many grooms and you can take care of the puppy better. read more

The groomer (Dana) was very pleasant. The haircuts were a little shorter than what we asked for. Took a couple days to get used to it but our 2 dogs got a ton of compliments ... The downside of this shop was the high pressure sales pitch from the counter guy ... it was little annoying. He wouldn't take "no thanks" as an answer to the relentless pitches on everything from food to flea/tick treatments.... I think he should ask once and after that leave the customer alone. read more

Pet Oasis is great. I go there quite often for my pets needs. Laura and the whole staff is really wonderful and very knowledgeable. If you are not sure of something theyo will be happy to help you out. The groomers are great too. I go to the one on Richmond avenue because it's the closest to my house.. If the one on Victory Blvd is closer to you ,that store is awesome too. Danny will make sure you get exactly what you need . He also is wonderful. Pet Oasis is a pet supplies store specializing in quality foods and accessories for your pet. Recently opened, Pet Oasis is located in a shopping center on the Southeast corner of Arthur Kill Road and Richmond Avenue. I had bought a specialty food for my dog at another store, but when I went back there it was out of stock until their next delivery. I needed it sooner, so I looked on the brand's website to find other stores nearby. Since Pet Oasis is new I had never heard of them, but the address was nearby. When I called, the friendly person who answered the telephone told me they had the food in stock. The next day I went over there with my dog, and we found pet store nirvana! Pet Oasis has a boutique feel, and it is easy to find what you are looking for. The space is clean, well lit, and well organized. Foods are all within date of expiration, and the selection of quality brands is extensive. Encountering a friendly and knowledgeable staff was a refreshing change of pace from the surly crew often found in pet stores on Staten Island. I got the impression that they had carefully selected items in the store to ensure there was something for everyone. I discussed the pros and cons of the diverse brands they carry (e.g. meal vs. meat, high protein, grain-free, etc.) with Joe, one of the Pet Oasis owners, at length. I was impressed by his engaging manner and breadth of knowledge. He was truly accommodating, and eager to help. He wasn't pushy, and didn't try to sell me on any specific brand. Based on our conversation I chose a new "healthy" senior food for my overweight mutt that he really seems to enjoy. When I needed more food and called Pet Oasis to make sure they had it in stock, Joe answered the telephone. Once again he was professional and friendly, patiently answering all of my questions. It is a huge relief to know there is a finally a great pet store near where we live. I highly recommend Pet Oasis to anyone who would like to experience a pleasant pet supply shopping experience on Staten Island! read more

I wouldn't call this a pet store I would call this a dog store... They sell mainly dog items...limited selection on other pets... I kept on asking if they have cat deodorizer or cat leashes they just keep saying no ..there respond was...if its not there then we don't have it.. Ok we'll if it was there why would I even ask if you have it or not...oh we'll I'm guessing because this place just recently open they are limited selection of stuff ...but the store itself is like a mini deil...so I don't really know...browsed at other items... was extremely over priced compare to petco which gives me more question marks ... read more

My 6 year old Rottie was diagnosed with pancreatitis, not knowing what to do or where to start: I walked into Pet Oasis with a pit in my stomach & the associate behind the counter picked up on it immediately & asked me what was wrong ? From there Samantha took the reigns & walked me through a program: I was too overwhelmed to comprehend so I said I would come back. Sunday night I went back to the store for treats to give my pup so I Could give her meds. There was a blackout at the shopping center & low and behold: Samantha is sitting outside the store in the dark. During a blackout she turned her flashlight on & walked directly to the item I needed, when she realized who I was, she pulled up in her a phone all the information she was explaining to me a few days prior BUT this time she's was showing me a conversation she had with the Vet & the Rep from Honest Kitchen This young woman did MORE for us than our own Vet. I was blown away. Not only did she remember me but had detailed info for me regarding the best plan for our baby. I have come across a lot of great people but Samantha is an unbelievable soul. The research she did for us was so above & beyond, I don't have words. Every person at Pet Oasis is exceptional! Truly I have never experienced a place that I can count on like PO. Samantha had no idea of my situation outside of my pup, I'm not well for 10 years, my husband is laid up with a unbearable back issue & my pup is covered in stitches from a tumor removal. Stress is not a good situation for me; Samantha took all the stress away. If you're a customer of Pet Oasis: you're like a member of the family. I'm so impressed & so grateful to Samantha for her guidance & care. So many amazing experiences with P.O. but this was THE MOST important scenario I've come across Re: my Layla so far & Samantha truly taught me how to care for her: what the condition calls for! I truly cannot stress enough how pivotal , care like this is during a crucial event; My dog is such an essential part of my life & not knowing what to do for her was heartbreaking: like I was letting her down. I almost feel like Samantha spoke for her: I know this may seem a bit dramatic but when you spend a lot of $ on your Pet, don't you expect to walk out of the vets office knowing what to do ? Layla went in for a tumor removal & came out with a completely different issue at hand. I was thrown for a loop & Samantha picked me , brushed me off & steered me in the direction to help Layla for as long as I can ! This was HUGE & Thank you doesn't seem like enough cannot say enough about Pet Oasis, Samantha & the entire staff: staff members rotate so they know the customers! Pet Oasis has been wonderful in helping me work through my dogs food allergies. If they don't have what I need, they have ordered it for me and it comes quickly. The prices are standard compared to the internet, and the reason they may be more expensive than Petco is because the products are better. The staff recommended great products & gave me helpful instructions on feeding & caring for our new pup .
