I brung my kitten to the vet for her first round of shots but I did not bring a carrier, they then gave me a cardboard box that they sell their cats in. After, it turns out that my kitten still had to wait a few weeks before getting the shots, after those weeks have passed i scheduled another appointment for her shots. i came in with my kitten in the carrier THEY GAVE ME, and they refused to take the kitten and made a problem about it. waste of time workers are lost and slow read more

want to write a review to warn others about this Petco location. This is by far the most unprofessional pet store I have ever been to. The first time I visited, my dog received a full check-up and several vaccines, and the vet told me to come back a month later for the next round. So I brought my dog back as instructed. However, this time I encountered a completely unprofessional veterinarian. She kept saying that my dog was "not cooperating," and because of that she couldn't give the vaccine or express the anal glands. If every dog cooperated perfectly, why would we even need professionals? It was clear that the doctor--or maybe the staff--simply didn't want to do anything. I honestly felt like she was just there to get through the day without actually helping anyone. I strongly advise others to stay away from this location. The experience was terrible, and I have never encountered a vet with such an unhelpful attitude. Based on her tone and behavior, she had no intention of assisting at all. read more

I had a scheduled follow up appointment with the Vetco clinic for my dog Rome's shots. He originally had his 6 in 1 Canine shot at the Reading, PA location with no issues. Today I was doing a follow up for his booster shot & was told that by him (Rome) not ever being at this particular location that he couldn't been seen for his follow up. I'm a truck driver & I travel a lot. I scheduled this appointment around my schedule to be sure that my pup gets his medical attention. Not only did they refuse my dog for his Booster shots but, they also denied him his flea, tick & heart worm medication because "he never been to this location." This is horrible seeing that my dog is always traveling with me. I can't just stop at the drop of a dime to bring my dog to the Vet. I literally had this planned & scheduled within my availability. So now I am forced to spend $58 again on the 6-1 canine shots & have to do the follow up shots once again which will be more money. They didn't even want to take my pup in for anything. I've been to this store many times. But today, Wednesday, July 31, 2024, I was totally embarrassed by the Manager of this store. I've owned tropical fish for over 50 years. Today, I wanted to buy 6 fish for my 20 gallon tank. I told this uninformed lady manger that I have 8 fish left in this tank and with the purchase of 6 additional fish the total of 14 fish in a 20 gallon tank would not impede on their health and longevity. She had to tell me how much she knows about fish and that 1) she would not allow the 30 day guarantee for these fish. I told her ok as long as your fish are healthy. She then tells me that she not going to sell me fish. How ridiculous! What kind of trip is she on? With the fish food that I was purchasing and the fish that I would have purchased for both of my tank the bill would have been around $150.00. How rich this company must be that they can throw out a customer that wants to spend money. I don't know how long this women manager has been working here, but if it were her business I'm sure she wouldn't ask a paying customer to leave. They really need to look at their business practices and get this women off her power trip. read more

Don't get your dog groomed here. They will hurt your dog & cover it up! They clearly injured/hurt my puppy the last time I brought her in for grooming. My puppy, who is a people-loving girl, hid behind me shaking, scared from our last appointment (months later) once she saw the groomer, Lisa that worked on her. It was surprising to see and also concerning, so I asked the groomer "did anything happen at the last visit, I've never seen her do this before" and she assured me nothing happened. So I rescheduled for the following week, not thinking anything bad had happened, only thinking my dog was having a bad day and we could try again next week. Not even, 11 minutes after leaving the store I get a call that they no longer can groom my puppy because "my conversation wasn't heartfelt" and that they "watched the tapes from my puppy's last grooming appointment and nothing happened". It was extremely extremely suspicious, the way she spoke was very strange - the fact I was even getting a call was even stranger. I clearly wasn't concerned and was trusting when the groomer told me that nothing happened, I even rescheduled, because I thought it was my dog acting strangely, not the stores fault. So when the manager called to tell me that they can't groom my puppy it was clear that they were covering something up, otherwise why deny a returning customer that spends close to ~$500 a month at Petco on their dog? Ive heard horrendous stories about Petco grooming but thought that this location would be fine because it was newer and my puppy was so happy to see me after her last visit, I didn't think it was because she had just been freed from whatever had transpired. Safe to say that whatever's going on here isn't right, I would be extremely careful bringing my dog here. Something clearly happened and they are covering it up. I know that this location is extremely over crowded and over booked with a ton of dogs in one room at a time. As a dog owners we are responsible for the well-being of our dogs, if our dog exhibits behaviors that are concerning and an owner inquires about it, it should be understandable, and not penalize. Otherwise, how can they say that they are a pet wellness company when a customer looks for reassurance when their dog acts scared for the first time at the presence of one of their groomers? Safe to say once your dog goes behind those doors it's like a game of Russian roulette. (Originally didn't mention the groomers name, because I don't want to mess with someone's job. But I feel that's it's important that customers are informed of all that's transpired when choosing a groomer for their dog, her name is Lisa, beware.) read more

I went there to buy a few fish, some cat fish and a few white tetras. I was laughed at and told "no way" because my 10 gallon tank with 2 fish in it apparently wasn't big enough. My tank is fine for that and I should not be laughed at, I am a customer. Eventually the store manager came and gave me 1 cat fish, she told me "it won't go well" The cat fish is fine and thriving, It seems maybe Doctor Dolittle didn't actually know anything. Everyone acts like they are professionals with this stuff but I grew up with 20 fish in a 10 gallon tank and they lived forever. Brought our Yorkie for haircut we told them we had given him a calming chew they refused to cut his hair because they said he was sedated. He wasn't sedated at all he was wide awake. We then made another appointment a week later. Was told not to sedate which we didn't got emails and text confirming our appointment walk in the door and was told he was red flagged for being on sedatives and refused to cut his hair. Called customer service and still no reply. So for giving him a calming chew once they will never cut his hair again. Ridiculous! read more

First visit and it was great. The manager Tiffany gave superb service. I came to buy a baby bearded dragon. I knew of the reptile sale that began the day of my Visit because a flyer that was given to me in a long Island location. I know how these stores are usually understaffed and I patiently waited for help after seeking out a sales person, Tiffany was very helpful and even offered to call the LI location to verify the sale that she wasn't sure of. Although I didn't leave with what I wanted she was very kind and helpful. I later returned with the flyer I had and she sincerely apologized for the inconvenience and confusion. The sale was honored of course and she still was very kind and apologetic about the confusion. The cashier apologetically said they only do price matching with competitors' prices and not from their own website. This would have saved me $10 and a trip to the store which is not located near my job or house. I could've just paid for express shipping for the same price. A lot of lies and fabrications have been told in the review by Wendy Bosco. Diana has been my groomer for 4 years and she's always done an amazing job. I took my pet to her since he was a puppy and she's ALWAYS done a fantastic job even now that he's 4 years old and bigger. In the same respects though I paid for a full groom which was $59.95 every time. Never have I been a cheap ass consumer and expected everything for a measly 25$ if the pet owner truly loves and cares for their companion, they would never go the "cheap bitch" way and look to get as much as they can and jew the groomer down on the price to take advantage. I've recommended 3 of my friends to Diana and they've all had the same top notch 1000% great experience, interaction, pricing and results with their animals and grooms. I've watched Diana start to finish with my pets grooming and never once has she shown anything but love, respect and compassion for every animal she comes in contact with. So in conclusion Wendy Bosco show some respect for yourself, some integrity to the students you teach and honesty to your neighborhood on Winant. And stop the lying and garbage accusations because you chose to be a cheap tw*t and take advantage of a kind young girl who by the way wouldn't be the grooming salon manager if your bullshit review had an ounce of truth in it, which it doesn't cause you're not special and no one cares what you think. Lastly it just shows what a lowlife piece of.....work you are for not tipping. They're doing a service for you and you have zero decency.
