Picked up my yorkie to find that his ears were destroyed, all his hair on them was shaved and they admitted to knicking one of them. But they left the rest of his hair on his body and legs. I will never come to this place again. I brought a beautiful puffy poodle puppy , and left with extremely short ugly hair cut. I wanted my poodle to have little shape , but not to cut all her hair completely . I just moved to staten Island and needed to find a new place to get my dog groomed. My dog is a maltipoo and is usually matted around his face. I usually spend 90+ dollars at petco just for them to shave him to his pink skin. The groomer Dana did an amazing job keeping some fur while shaving off all his matted areas and even left left a lil poof on top and his ears definitely recommend this place and can't wait to go back. Came in with my dog, Kaiser, and the staff was happy to greet with both :) I was just looking for dog treats and said that I wanted products made in the USA and they said that's all they carry. How great is that!? No need to worry about stuff made in China. I also asked about grooming services, since I can't cut my boy's nails on my own. It was $10 and they did it right on the spot. Great for me, since I didn't have to worry about cutting too far into his veins and great for him because he had a lovely lady holding him :) Lucky guy! I brought my dogs in for grooming a couple of weeks ago and the groomer cut my dogs ear to where it was bleeding. I am totally disgusted with the incident. I will not be bringing my dogs back. That is just not acceptable. The owner is lucky I even paid my bill, which she accepted with no hesitation. To add insult to injury, the owner insinuated I let my dogs get matted, as if to blame me for the incident. My dog barely had hair on her ears to begin with, she is a rat terrier mix. I just can imagine my poor baby wimpering when she was cut. The time before that they cut my yorkiepoos nail too much where she bled. I should have learned my lesson the first incident, but I gave them another chance, my mistake. Careful who you bring your fur babies to there are plenty of groomers out there, no reason to accept carelessness with our fur babies. read more

First time going and last time. I called to ask if I could come in to get my dogs nails cut the lady on the phone said "yes, If you come now" and I said okay I will be there in 10 minutes. Granted it probably took me 15 minutes to get there, however, it is inexcusable to tell me once I get there that the person who cuts the nails left. So why wouldn't you call me back and let me know before wasting my time, energy and gas. Just lost new customers (3 dogs) in a blink of an eye. For starters We have been leaving our Maltese here for 7 years several weeks at a time and even some for just a few days and we always groomed her here. We never had a problem and were always happy. She loved Jessica the worker. Jessica is excellent and always takes care of our dog. This past week we left our dog there for 6 nights and got a call this morning saying she was just groomed and ready to be picked up. When I walked in and saw my dog I knew she wasn't groomed. Her hair was still full and in her eyes, and she had poop on back of her and her paws were black. She smelled of pee. Then the owner told me he groomed her yesterday morning, and I asked why she wasn't groomed today and he changed story and said someone else groomed her yesterday. Then I picked my dog up and I saw on her back she had a large scab. I asked the owner what happen and he said he knew nothing she probably had a growth on her. I insisted she had nothing on her. So that's how I knew something had happened to her because they didn't groom her. They were trying to cover it up by not grooming her so we wouldn't see it with her hair. But what dog owner wouldn't notice a mark on their dog? So I left and took her to the vet and for first the vet said she definitely didn't get groomed or bathed then he said she caught fleas from the place and third he said about the scab that she got an infected cut and he doesn't know how she got it. I was so upset when I picked her up today. I always recommended this place to all my friends but after this I will not recommend this to anyone. My poor little dog is only 11 pounds. I just think this is a horrible experience the dog had to go through. My heart is broken to see my baby like that. I wish I could give no stars but unfortunately to post this I have to give one. They are very laid back but also professional in a way that you can feel comfortable leaving your pets with them. The people are nice and helpful in the store, but as far as buying a dog from this store, I don't think so. During one of my visits, the sales guy there was trying to get us to buy a sick dog. He actually told us he's sick, we've been trying to get him better, don't know what's wrong, so you would think they would a) NOT knowingly sell a sick dog who could die the day you get him home or B)keep him in the store and get him the medical attention he needs until he gets better. I think it's a lot of nerve to try to sell this dog AND give a discounted price of almost 1000 bucks?? I think not. The second time I was there, again we were holding a dog, I can't resist when I go in a pet shop. Now, I know my dogs. This dog was without a doubt a mutt, and definitely mixed with Schnauzer. It had the body, the distinct face and long nose and this dog was heavy. Had to be at least close to 8 pounds. The lady tries telling me this is a pure bread miniature poodle. What? Now being someone who has owned poodles there is no way in hell this dog was a pure bread poodle. Nope, she had the paperwork and everything. I don't like being lied to, had no idea what bogus paperwork they were showing me, or why they would be so silly as to pass this dog off for a pure bread poodle. Customers don't like being lied to. So on that note, nice place to come in and maybe hold a dog or two, but go to a breeder or a more reputable place that will guarantee the dog is not from a puppy mill. Though I know I may be living in fantasy land on that one. read more

I have been using Petsvilla for 2.5 years now. I have always been happy with how they groom my Yokie Bella. The groomers are very loving towards her when I drop her off they give her hugs. The thing I most appreciate is the actually listen to my requests...I hate fully shaven styles and like the way they style her. I once took Bella across the railroad to a different establishment and wanted to cry when I picked her up, they shaved her down to her skin. I have been taking my dog Pebbles in for haircuts at Petsvilla for quite a while. The last time I had my dog groomed she came home with not one- but two gashes in her front right paw. Now- here's a little background on my dog. She is a tiny , lovable shih tzu who has been to two other groomers for the past ten years (so she's accustomed to being handled and groomed) with absolutely not a single knick on her. Here's what astonished me..when I was given my dog back after her haircut was complete- the groomer pointed out only ONE of the gashes (yes gashes..deep ones) and said that she got "nicked." I was understanding because it can happen- maybe it was a skin tag. They did give 10 percent off my bill..and I went on my way. When I got home I noticed my dog was a bit lethargic. I wanted to put ointment on her wound and when I lifted her arm that's when I not only realized how deep the first gash was - but that there was another right under her arm. These were not little "nicks" these were deep gashes that my dog still has scabs from. I can't even imagine the amount of blood that was lost during this. One little "nick" I can understand - but two deep gashes is just negligence. I called Petsvilla right away and explained everything and while I was told "sorry" that's where it ended. It's been a week and I have not received a single call from Petsvilla to see if my dog is ok. This is absolutely unacceptable and the not only negligent but lack of compassion to boot. I am not here to tell anybody what to do or where to go to get your animals groomed..I am sharing my very unpleasant experience with you all because I want to caution people and maybe have this not happen to someone else's animal. As for the well being of my dog, she is doing fine now. I have been treating her with topical antibacterial ointments and luckily there was no infection. The experience was horrible however, as our pets are a part of our family and to see them clearly in pain with gashes is absolutely unacceptable. I shouldn't have to worry about sending my dog off to professionals and wonder if she's going to come back gashed up. Pure negligence. And the kicker- the haircut was lousy this time to boot. read more
