The only reason I purchased from Galaxy is that it's a Black Owned business, and the hair is ethnically sourced. As well, after research I concluded that the owner, Addie, seemed like a wonderful woman, and the fact that she wanted to get better hair and multiple textures was inspirational.
I love the texture of the hair. I purchased the Calibo Curly and the Macti Wavy. Unfortunately, the Macti Wavy and frontal I ordered never came. It's been three weeks, and the status of when I'll get it, or if I'll get a refund is currently TBD. I've had the Calibo Curly hair in for almost two weeks. Even though I love the texture, the weft is really thick, so it does make it harder to do the flip-over-method when sewing it in. The hair does shed more than expected, and the 18 inch Calibo Curly came in really thin and brittle at the ends (this is different than what I'd seen in pictures on their Insta, Facebook, Youtube, and Website). I do plan on keeping the hair in longer since it can last for up to 5 years, but so far, in comparison to other "good hair" I've purchased, the shedding is equivalent to AliExpress hair I've had in the past. This is the most upsetting.
This review would have been maybe three and a half stars, but the customer service has been awful, and I don't say that to be dramatic. I've worked in so many customer service roles, and when I finally got someone on the phone, the guy I spoke to sounded like he'd been asleep for five hours before he answered, and even though I served him with respect and kindness, he couldn't care less about my problems. He eventually said he couldn't help me, and he'd have to take my number down. When I asked him when someone would reach out to me, he said, "I don't know. Maybe tomorrow?" And to no surprise, no one ever called me back.
I've also been in email correspondence with someone, and the process has been like hurting cats. Sometimes it takes forever to get a response on a simple question. All the apologizes seem empty and hollow. Even when I've asked for a simple refund on the hair that (still) hasn't made it to me, they've been dismissive and have asked me to "simply wait". When I ask questions in general, a lot of them don't get answered.
So the experience so far has really sucked. Guys, I really wanted to LOVE this hair. I really wanted to SUPPORT this business (IT'S A BLACK OWNED BUSINESS BY A WOMAN - I WAS SO HYPED ABOUT THIS), but man, they've really crushed my hair dreams. I've spent 1,000 dollars on their hair, and they've treated me like my check bounced.
I hope to update this with something hopeful, but again, it's almost been a month at this point, and I'm feeling pretty hopeless and like I'll be out of money in the long run. read more
