Ambience was gorgeous.

This was a fantastic luxurious dining experience. The service was exquisitely kind. This was my first night out solo dining and the staff here made the experience so comfortable, even though most other customers were couples. The food was amazing with every bite just as delicate as the one before. The food was plated with precision, deserving of the Michelin stars.

Cuisine: 6 Service: 6 Decor: 7 Value: 6 Overall: 6 Disclaimer: This review has been sitting in my drafts for many years, so take it for what it's worth. I was looking forward to finally trying this restaurant, but honestly it didn't live up to expectations. Not that it was bad, just not all that memorable, which should never be the case when you pay the type of prices these meals cost. The only dishes that really stood out was the Smoked Eel Velouté. The Siberian Sturgeon Caviar and Seared Sullivan County Foie Gras were excellent, but can you really go that wrong with these incredible ingredients? Most of the other dishes were decent, but nothing I will remember in a few weeks. Service was fine but felt a bit cold, as does the space. Honestly, I was never really comfortable the whole time I was there. Everything was just not bad, but that's not what I was looking for.

Perfect place for special occasions. Location: Street level of Grace building across from Bryant Park. Ambience: high ceilings, spacious, simple elegance. Separate round bar area in front. Main dining room separated by architectural elements. Definitely 2 Michelin Stars decor vibe. Most of the crowd were either groups of business men in suits for business dinner or couples, likely for special occasions. Service: Attentive, team service. Food: Alsace-French food. Alsacian tartes are a specialty. We got mushroom with added truffles ($85 add on), Crispy thin crust and earthy mushrooms. Tasty but not sure the truffle added that much to the flavors in this case. Smoked sturgeon tarte with caviar was stellar, such a delicate flavor. The foie terrine was highest quality and so creamy and the accompaniments were the perfect pairing. For entree, we had duck and squab. The duck was good sized in portion, juicy and exceptional flavor. For me, the squab was just ok. I like my squab with a crispier skin and more of the fat rendered. The trade is the meat is very tender and juicy inside. Dessert: delicate and tasty overall. Not overly sweet. We had 3 and they were all excellent. The chocolate soufflé Tarte was beautiful as well with signature crane design on top. I enjoyed the meal but nothing I crave daily, so this is probably going to be a special occasions kind of place for me (price point and time commitment). Definitely recommend for business dinner or special occasions.

Came for an anniversary dinner and was absolutely blown away. Every team member ensured every detail of our night was absolutely perfect. Everything we ate was to die for, from the tasting menu items to the amuse bouche. Months later we are still reminiscing over a little white chocolate cube filled with passionfruit that started off our journey at Gabriel Kreuther. The sommelier made sure we could find a bottle that could complement our different meals that was within our budget. Not a dull moment during this experience, definitely a splurge but beyond worth it.

Gabriel Kreuther, a 2 Michelin star restaurant, delivers an exceptional meal and service in such a convenient location across from Bryant park. Reservations are quite easy to book across a range of times and parties. The dining room is quite large with ample space between tables and wasn't noisy at all. I did find the plush booth seat to be quite far back though in terms of leaning back. The staff were immediately attentive, warm and engaging and they operated like a well-choreographed team. For dinner options, you can select a 3- or 4- course meal or chef's tasting menu (though I assume smaller portions) with menu available online. Two wine pairing options are also available in addition to a book of drink (wine) options. I opted for the chef's tasting menu - unfortunately I lost track/didn't keep down details of every dish and I wasn't given a menu copy. The highlights were the duck, sturgeon caviar tart, Long Island fluke. The foie gras was good and had an interesting presentation, like something out of the MoMA. The duck was excellently cooked with a lot of flavor and the caviar tart had just strong, powerful bites. Overall though I found the course to be well-polished but little to stand out. The service was fantastic and wine pairing complimented each dish well. I think it's a good value for the dishes and especially for a two-Michelin star restaurant. The tasting menu had a solid baseline but not a high ceiling with the best dishes, for instance comparing to the langoustine at Aska or tuna/salmon at Le Bernardin, having that "knockout" dish for me but still an excellent meal!

Went to Gabriel to celebrate my husband's birthday, and we absolutely loved it! Getting a reservation for a reasonable time on a Friday was surprisingly easy -- a rare win for a Michelin-starred spot. What really stood out to me was the flexibility of the menu. There were options for different dining styles and price points, which I wish more fine dining restaurants would offer. Whether you're going all-in or keeping it a bit more low-key, there's something for everyone. The space itself is beautiful, and the staff struck the perfect balance of kind, funny, and attentive. They made the night feel special without being overly formal. We chose the blind chef's tasting menu, and while it was a lot of food for me, everything was absolutely delicious. Highlights included the La Belle Foie Gras Terrine, Citrus-Cured Long Island Fluke Crudo, Sturgeon & Sauerkraut Tart, Squid Ink Orecchiette, Red Wine Marinated Golden Bass and Hay-Smoked, Two-Week Aged Hudson Valley Duck Breast -- each dish more memorable than the last. And yes, A LOT of food. We paired our meal with cocktails (all hits, no misses), and the desserts were truly out of this world. If you go, do not skip the chocolate -- you'll thank yourself later. All in all, we had a fantastic time. It was the perfect place for a celebration, and I'd return in a heartbeat.

I had been looking forward to trying Gabriel Kreuther, and while there were definitely some great moments, the overall experience felt a bit underwhelming given the hype and price. We started off with bread that was soft and garlicky almost like a brioche which I really liked. It came with this green spread that had a sour cream or mayo flavor (still not sure exactly what it was), but it was actually really tasty. Then came the amuse-bouche, which included eggplant puffs--crispy on the outside, flavorful inside. There was also a mini beef tartare sandwich, which wasn't really my thing, and oysters, which were good but nothing super memorable. For the first course, I ordered the foie gras, which sadly just didn't hit. I've definitely had better this one came with a jelly-like side that just felt like fancy Jell-O, and the brioche bread it came with wasn't as buttery or soft as I prefer. The person I was with got the tuna, though, and I tried a bite it was flavorful, soft, and way better than my dish. Later they brought out warm sourdough rolls with honey-butter, and the bread was steaming hot so the butter melted perfectly honestly one of the highlights. For my main, I had the sea bass, and it was okay. Not bad, just not amazing. It came topped with relish, peppers, and pickles, which I personally didn't love it felt like they clashed with the delicate fish so I picked them off. The sauce was fine but kind of overwhelmed the fish, and I wish it had been served on the side. For the price, it just didn't wow me. Overall, the restaurant had some great components (the bread and butter combo, and the tuna), but for the cost, I expected more consistency and flavor across the board. It's a beautiful spot and the service is polished, but I probably wouldn't rush back.

(if only Yelp would let us give more!) Dining at the Chef's Table at Gabriel Kreuther isn't just a meal, it's a transcendent experience. From the moment we sat down, we were transported into a culinary journey where time seemed to stand still. What started at 7:15 PM gently unfolded until 10:45 PM, yet it felt like only moments had passed. That's the magic of this place. The evening began with the Chef himself graciously sharing his life story--a personal and rare moment of connection that set the tone for what was to come. Each course, and there were many (so many!), was a masterpiece. Visually stunning, technically perfect, and layered with intense, unforgettable flavors in every bite. It was almost too much to eat, but every morsel was too special to waste. What truly elevates this above even the most elite tasting experiences is the team of chefs--each of whom took time to walk us through the ingredients, techniques, and inspiration behind every dish. Their passion was palpable, their hospitality unmatched. Sitting at the Chef's Table is dinner and a show--but not in the traditional sense. It's an immersive, intimate glimpse into the soul of a kitchen in motion, orchestrated with precision and grace. Watching the culinary story unfold before us, we felt more like privileged guests than diners. Gabriel Kreuther's Chef's Table is where artistry, storytelling, and world-class cuisine converge. If I could give this infinity stars, I would.

This place l've been dying to try to eat for over a year since I discovered it on social media. It also took me a mini Ute to write this review as I forgot I had the photos with busy life. I was not disappointed a bit. In fact this was probably one of the best meals l've ever had. And all I do is travel and eat at the best restaurants in the world, and this is definitely in my top 5 restaurants I love! Every single dish I had just blew my mind, jaw dropping and just wow. Service was amazing as expected. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Decor was modern and beautiful. Didn't feel pretentious at all. Just soothing. Over all, can't wait to come back!

This week, I had the pleasure of dining at Gabriel Kreuther to celebrate my birthday, and from the moment we arrived, the service was on point--attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. Everyone, from reception to our servers, congratulated us, and we even received a personally signed card from the chef, which made the night extra special. We opted for their 4-course prix fixe menu. Since our selected wine wasn't ready, we were offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to start. Throughout the meal, amuse-bouches between courses added delightful surprises, making the experience even more exciting. First course * La Belle Foie Gras Terrine - delicious start, paired with pistachio, wild rice streusel, and marble brioche. The foie gras was smooth and rich. * Cashew & Wild Mushroom Pâté with Ossetra Caviar - one of my favorites! The earthy mushroom flavors paired beautifully with the salty caviar. Mid course * Sturgeon & Sauerkraut Tart - a GK's signature dish, and I see why! The imperial kaluga caviar and applewood smoke took it to another level. Every bite was incredible. * Gewürztraminer Poached Sullivan County Foie Gras - served with quince consommé, artichoke, and ginger froth, and it had a perfect balance of sweetness and richness. Entree * Hay-Smoked Two-Week Aged Hudson Valley Duck Breast - was perfectly cooked, tender, smoky, and packed with rich flavors of blistered cranberries, parsnip cream, and sweet potato. * Spiced Red Venison Loin - cooked very well, the slight sweetness of the cranberries complements the dish beautifully. Dessert * Chestnut Mont Blanc with Vanilla Cake - light, airy, and delicious. * Chocolate Tart Soufflé - I only had a bite since I'm not a chocolate fan, but my boyfriend loved it. Additionally, I received a special complimentary dessert with a personalized congratulatory message--such a lovely touch! This was easily one of the best fine dining experiences of my life. If you're looking for an exceptional meal in an elegant setting, Gabriel Kreuther is a must-visit--perfect for any special occasion!

My soulmate and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary at this beautiful restaurant. The atmosphere was so elegant, but not too stuffy. We noticed a few customers did not wear a suit jacket. The service was impeccable. Always so attentive - our water glasses were hardly ever empty. The servers also explained each course as they were coming out. Most importantly, the food was amazing. We enjoyed every item, even the buttery bread. We will be back for more!

Nicely spread out tables, hushed atmosphere while still being comfortable. Whatever you do, order the chocolate souffle..... I'm sure the other deserts are great... But nothing is going to be better than the chocolate souffle. I think the waitress thinks I'm joking that I'm coming back tomorrow night just for coffee, glass of wine and the chocolate souffle.

I haven't eaten in a Michelin restaurant in so long. I truly enjoyed everything I ate at Gabriel Kreuther. Jesus was our waiter but everyone in the restaurant works together. I loved that they have us extras like kombucha, tequila, chocolate. We all ordered from the 3 course price fixed many. I ordered the tuna for my appetizer and the trout for my entree and your pizzelle for my dessert. We also ordered two bottles of wine and that was delicious as well. The service was immaculate and the ambience spectacular. Sometimes you have to treat yourself to a wonderful meal.

Do they still give out personalized menu?

We didn't get one. Overall, straightforward with no vibe.

Do you think the restaurant is kid (1year old) friendly and the atmosphere too quiet or noisy enough to bring a baby?

Regrettably, not recommended for this upscale restaurant

What is the dress code?

We were looking forward to dressing up and noticed it is quintessential nyc - with "men" in sports coats / jackets or at least a nice button downs - I didn't see jeans / flip flops / etc. This was also for dinner :) enjoy !!

Is there indoor seating ? The website appears to be down atm.

Yes, I was there recently and they did a great job with spacing with regard to COVID restrictions indoors.

Those of you who've done recent outdoor dining, is there a roof covering for rain? And what is dress code for outdoor patio?

Yes, there's roof covering, and heating lamps overhead as well. I am not aware of any dress code. It was pretty code, most people including us just kept our coats on.

Do you have to pre-pay for the tasting menu?

Pre-payment for our tasting menus is not necessary. You may contact our reservations team directly at (212) 257-5826 to make your reservation or even walk-in without the need to pay in advance. Have a good day!

Is tip included in Carte Blanche price?

Good afternoon Stacey, Thank you so much for your kind inquiry!… Read more

How many hours does a 6 course tasting menu take?

Good afternoon, Thank you so much for reaching out!… Read more

Can the chef make modifications for someone who is pregnant (no raw fish/meat/eggs, no unpasteurized dairy)?

Ask. It I think yes. I am a vegetarian. Are with kosher bf. Both of us were accommodated beautifully. Be clear when u reserve.

What is the dress code?

I would say business casual or business formal is fine. No jeans or any street wear.

And boy, were we in for a pleasant surprise, as we truly enjoyed ourselves. No one does beer hall like a German place. This is just facts. We had the Berliner Weisse, which comes in a .5L or 1L boot (does German beer count if it's not in a boot?). This was a delicious raspberry syrupy undertone wheat beer, and definitely a must have for next time. Though there were like a dozen other beers I need to have. They also have a pretty extensive wine selection, if that's your thing. We were there for a brunch. When we arrived, before 1pm, it wasn't busy at all. By the time we left, it was pretty full. The bar had seats though. Anyhoo, I tried their "energizer" which were eggs any style (poached for me), creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. Never had a breakfast like this one! It was almost like a deconstructed eggs Florentine. YUM. My husband had the Heidelberger which was a German style hamburger with frizzled onions and mashed potatoes. He let me try some, it was pretty fantastic so I may need to try it sometime myself. Also do not miss their ginormous Bavarian pretzel. It was quite possibly the best I've had (and I've had many!). The service was outstanding, and the vibe was ... I dunno a step above what you saw in Fast Times where they go to the German restaurant. My only regret is that I didn't get the apfelstrudel. Next time! Washrooms are single occupancy.

After visiting the German Consulate General, we were looking to celebrate new dual citizenship with authentic German cuisine. The duck made my wife throw up two hours after ingesting it. My (albeit) medium-well schnitzel ordered came extra well-done, crispy both on the inside and out. The restaurant was dark and freezing. Workmen were bringing in wood materials from the back and the door was left open for the duration of the meal to accommodate the establishment and its workmen over the dining comfort of its patrons. We passed the security area and then found the cafe immediately on the ground floor. The host greeted us kindly and showed us to our table. This cafe is just stunning-- the wooden furniture and walls, large windows facing the park, the dim lightning, all create a cozy but refined atmosphere. It gives off pristine Central European vibes. We were also lucky and they had a live pianist while we were eating which really elevated the ambiance further. Our waitress was very pleasant and available to help us with all our needs. She took our orders and answered all our questions. We ordered some mulled wines which were perfect for the cold weather, they were spiced and not sweetened at all which I liked. While we waited for our food, we also got some complimentary bread and butter. The bread had some seeds and a nice flavor to it. The butter was creamy and a little salty. The food came out very quickly! We tried: - Smoked trout crepes: perfect to split! This comes with 3 small crepes which were filled with generous smoked trout and came with a side of creme fraiche. The trout was smoky without being fishy and the cold crepes were the perfect light but bright starter. There were some tangy elements from the pickled cucumbers it came with and fresh cherry tomatoes. Very refreshing. The creme fraiche was very good and I used the leftover on the complimentary bread which was also amazing! - Chicken paprikas: my mom ordered this and really enjoyed it. The chicken was so tender it fell off the bone. It came in this very rich and thick tomato and paprika sauce. The dish came with a side of creamed spatzle which are egg noodles and had a creaminess that balanced out the rich spiced sauce. Very comforting. - Beef goulash: my fiancé got the goulash which similarly had super tender beef in a rich sauce and paired with spatzle for a comforting balance. This sauce also had hints of paprika but was far more subtle than that of the chicken paprikas. Very nice dish, really filling. If you like goulash, definitely order this! - Wiener schnitzel: having had schnitzel in Vienna, I had cautious hope about this. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. The breading was slightly thicker here and less airy in general and the meat a bit less tender but I liked how it was not so greasy and I did like that the breading was overall very thin. The lingonberry sauce was quite sweet and would have preferred it on the side. The potato salad though was really amazing and reminded me of that we had in Vienna. It was the perfect side to have with the schnitzel with its pickled, tangy, and herbal elements. - Warm cheese strudel: this dessert was perfect! It came warm and had a moist consistency, almost like a hybrid between a tres leches and a French toast. The cheese was a bit sweet but had little hints of savoriness which really helped balance the dish. - Sachertorte: nice chocolate and apricot cake. This was a lot breadier and less moist than the ones we had in Vienna, however, still good! I thought the chocolate, apricot, and rum balance was perfect. - Hot chocolate: best hot chocolate I have had in a while! Creamy but not too thick, perfectly sweet without being too overwhelming, and had the right amount of chocolate. The whipped cream was light and added a really aesthetic and refreshing touch. They offer a version with rum as well but the original was my favorite. Overall, I had an amazing dinner here! The service was good, the food was amazing and perfectly comforting for the cold weather, and the ambiance was just impeccable. I think this is the perfect spot to bring parents to impress them and have a nice meal. I definitely want to try their brunch/ lunch one day although know those are walk in tables. Would recommend for dinner and or coffee + dessert!

The weisswurst was especially tender and flavorful, paired nicely with the pretzel and sweet mustard. That said, the presentation was a bit odd. We also had the smoked trout crêpes, which were just as tasty and much more visually appealing, but noticeably smaller in portion. That contrast felt a bit inconsistent and left me still a little hungry by the end. Overall, it was a mix of great flavors and a beautiful setting, but with some unevenness in presentation and portion sizes that made the experience feel slightly off.

Don't ask me the difference between these varieties. I can only surmise that each is a different blend of meats, like beef, pork, or chicken. My favorite will always be bratwurst (beef and pork), but I also enjoy their Knackwurst. While the brat has a very breakfast sausage-like texture, the knackwurst is denser and firmer, closer to a traditional American hot dog. You have the choice between a potato or pretzel bun, and it is almost sacrilegious not to choose the latter. You can also add up to three toppings, including onions and relish. While this stand has indoor seating, it's recommended that you sit at their outdoor tables or standing bar on a sunny day out. A great burger. If you want it medium-rare, order rare. This is a true 1/2 pound burger that's…read morehigh-quality and really tasty. Comes with a large side of fries that arrive hot. Also cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and more. Bierhaus also has a terrific veggie burger. Also comes cheese, lettuce, tomato and mushrooms. A veggie burger can go both ways, but they make a great one. Ask for the Bierhaus cheese sauce on the side for the fries. The staff is warm, courteous and professional, which reflects well on ownership. If delivering, use the Bierhaus app by Toast. They only charge a $1.99 fee.

We got our food and drink orders in quickly, ate, drank and hopefully did not piss off the staff. Beer selection is good, happy to have a lighter lager that stayed nice and cold. Was excited for the pork knuckle. It came out a little dry, and I suspect it was reheated via frying as it came out a little too dry and crispy but I get it. They're not making these to order. Party platter had a large selection of sausages, along with soft pretzels, meatballs and chips. If you have a group it's a decent order. Would come again for schnitzel and maybe give the pork knuckle another chance.

Super fun and great vibes. Super crowded during the afternoon…read more The pretzel was ok, cheese bread was fine but wish there were utensils with it because it was super hard to eat. The hot toddy I got was pretty good and I liked the flavor. The ski shot which is 4 shots of $50 was overpriced in my opinion. Unfortunately the actual experience was soured by the fact that apparently it's $50 pp min if you reserve a table and then in the end they tried to charge us for people who didn't show up even though we did fill the table. I understand the policy and the manager was super nice to us and tried to rectify the situation but our waitress ended up being super rude in the end. They gave us a small discount but we ended up having to buy a lot of tickets to use in the future. Wasn't too happy about how things ended so would probably recommend that you go in the evening to avoid crowds if that's not your vibe and also do not book a table.

They have plenty of space and have many food and drink options. I usually get the different susuages, fries, and pretzels. It does get pretty busy during the evening and night, so it can get a bit crowded. The service could get pretty slow too. Just remember if you bring in cakes or cupcakes to celebrate they will charge a fee of $40.

German Visa. Very prompt and smooth. Friendly staff go out of their way to help. Great experience.read more

I applied for a resident visa for a job offer in Germany and this was my experience:…read more First, making an appointment is pretty daunting. In July, I booked my appointment and the earliest they had was August 31 but i checked back every single day and was able to change it to August 15th and then again I kept checking, and finally I saw an opening for August 3. For people who found that appointments are 2 months out, I would recommend checking the reservations portal every day for earlier dates. Second, the documents you need for a resident visa are not really outlined on the website but you will need the following if your situation is for a job offer: -2 copies of resident visa applications filled out (not sure where you download this form since my company gave it to me) -2 biometric passport pictures 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm with white background -2 copies of your passport only of the data page, and passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have at least 3 empty pages -2 signed form §54 residence law (i got this form at the embassy) -2 copies of medical health insurance that covers Germany (i got health insurance through my new company but there are many rules surrounding health insurance that you should research) -original college diploma (i had photo copies but then eventually had to bring in my original college diploma) -2 copies of enrollment and degree verification from my university -2 copies of ANABIN degree verification -2 copies of ANABIN university verification -2 copies of signed job offer from my company and me -2 copies of CV I submitted my application on August 3rd and was approved in 4 business days. I went back to the embassy with my passport and original diploma, then they returned my passport to me in 30 minutes with the temporary visa inside of it.
