Centurion has done it again--another delightful dinner with excellent food. The menu of this visit's highlights included the truffle risotto, generously topped with freshly shaved truffles, which was a standout. The burrata paired beautifully with figs, and the prawns were perfectly seasoned. Everything met our expectations in terms of quality and flavor. The sparkling drinks and white wine, however, didn't quite live up to the standard of last season. While the waiter was highly professional and let us sample all the options, the quality and taste weren't as impressive this time, so we opted for cocktails instead. After dinner, we headed to the bar down the hall, overlooking Bryant Park's Winter Village and ice-skating rink. Enjoying the cozy atmosphere with good friends was the perfect way to spend a weekend night. Although the bar officially closed at 1 a.m., in our experience, they're happy to stay open a bit longer for guests. The bartender even created an incredible guava-based cocktail for us and sent over additional rounds on the house--it was truly amazing! We left feeling well cared for and appreciated.

This is our 2nd visit to this beautiful restaurant/lounge/bar, the service, the decor, the view are truly 10 out of 10, unfortunately that were the good review ends. The food in the fine dining section was not fine at all, it was very disappointing. Ive ordered the ribeye steak and honestly it was one of the worst ribeye steak I've ever had, it was chewy, it was tough and I literally had to take it out of my mouth because it was impossible to eat. The dish that my wife ordered which was some sort of mushroom that looks wired and was not very good. Even the fries which looked promising were not good, zero crunch and completely soft. The desert was ok, the espresso martini was good. We will be back for a drinks and the atmosphere but not for dinner.

It has a stunning view of both Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. The service was great and the food was great. It only offers prefixed menus at the dining room. The options were $165 for a 3-course or $225 for a 5-course meal. For us the 3-courses were just right, not to mention that the chef offered both pre meal and after meal treats.

Has a great ambience of exclusivity from the moment you have to check in before getting into the elevator and the ground floor,. Nice darkened hallway that opens up to some amazing views of the city, particularly at night! Service was very attentive despite being busy, and has a very luxurious but professional attitude. Had great expectations of the chef prepared food, which were displayed very artistically, but unfortunately tasted pretty average tobland. Small portions, and a little disappointed that the food wasn't quite as tasty as I would expect for a high-end club. For example, the Wagyu didn't taste any different than a ground sirloin tartar and certainly not high-quality A5 Wagyu. Next time, I may go here for the drinks and maybe an appetizer, but certainly not for fine dining.

You knew coming here would be pricey. You're here because of your American Express status, and the concierge scored you a reservation. On the 55th floor, you're soaking in the stunning views, including the Chrysler Building. Great photo ops! I came for social drinks and small bites. The cocktails were great, even with the giant ice cube. I ordered the tuna tartare--it was super fresh and delicious. I also had the DB burger, which was solid, but was it worth $35? Definitely not. As for the cheese board, I'd skip it--limited selection and not worth it.

The view is spectacular. You can see the Chrysler building straight on. The restaurant is well lit and very spacious. They have three bars in the restaurant. The casual, a la carte bar attached to the restaurant. They also have a speakeasy with high end alcohol (read: it was $75 to $85 for ONE cocktail). They also have The Carbon room, which is a separate room that can be rented out for parties. The Carbon room has the best view of the Chrysler building. The service was expected. They were very professional. The food was somewhat of a mismatch compared to the views and the service. I had the Chef's tasting menu and my husband chose the prixe fixe a la carte. Chef's Tasting menu --The foccacia bread was warm and fresh butter tasted amazing. --White asparagus & caviar - no distinguishing flavor. I felt like the caviar was a plug in just to justify the price or conveniently elevate this dish. --Warm hamachi - good flavor, but better at a sushi restaurant --Live norwegian langoustine and uni - teh langoustine was overcooked, uni, again, not that fresh --Dry -aged rib-eye and black truffle - I asked for medium rare and received medium well. For a chef's menu priced at $250, I hope the steak to be cooked correctly. I had to send this back. It returned medium rare, but still flavorless. --Brillat Savarin - Two very thin slices of bread and some brie. Again, some truffle on top to justify the price and elevate this basic dish. --Caramelized Honey Cremeux - This was completely melted. I didn't realize this till I reached the center, which was actual ice cream. Overall, the quality control of the food leaving the kitchen is poor. I will not return, especially since it is difficult to make a reservation and the price is quite high.

This place is one of a kind. Located in One Vanderbilt, the entrance seems like an inconspicuous office building, but there was a nice desk with CENTURION on it. We were guided upstairs to a table with a great view of downtown Manhattan and the Empire State. The Chrysler building was to my left and the rest of Manhattan was right in front of me. The service was playful and cheery. During our meal, they made sure to coordinate the arrival of the dishes and place them on the table simultaneously two at a time. They also routinely gave us new utensils and cleared the table. Our primary server showed us around after our dinner and brought us to the wine room which had a western view of Manhattan. After being astounded by the alcohol prices, we settled on three cocktails: dark and creamy which had a strong coconut flavor and very little alcohol, orchard old fashioned which tasted like a light old fashioned with an apple aftertaste, and the 2-1-2 which tasted like sweet herbal medicine in a good way. The drinks were all pleasant, but with very little alcohol. For the tasting menu, we started with a rendition of an everything lox bagel but it was in a wonton shell. A little lox, a little cream cheese topped with everything seasoning could never go wrong so it was a good palate opener. This was followed by an aged cheddar bite which was also very savory and had an exterior like a pineapple bun. Both of these starters were heavier than I expected, but worked well because this was only a 6 course menu and every dish was small. They also gave baguettes and these small Asiago bagels throughout the meal which topped us off. The honey nut squash soup was very sweet which paired well with the cream and small pickled vegetables and I think this was my favorite dish of the night. This was followed by a warm hamachi which had a diverse texture palate between the soft porridge, crispy bits, and the fish. The ponzu sauce was the highlight of this dish and the rest was not memorable. The langoustine came next and it was good but unremarkable. The orzo was fun to eat and I recall that texture more than the langoustine. The dry aged ribeye came as the main dish and it was a good slice of meat. However, I did not get the chimichurri flavor at all... the sauce just tasted like a jus. I liked the piece of fat? on the side which had an explosion of flavor. As a palate cleanser, they served a raspberry ice cream with raspberry gel and dried raspberry and while delicious, it was very sweet so my palate did not feel very cleansed. Onto the desserts, the walnut raisin bread was soft and the raisins were a nice sweet surprise in the cheese and black truffle combo. This cheese was as light as a brie and made for a great spread. After, we were presented with a hive-looking ice cream which was another highlight for me. I really liked how the kumquat sweetness differed from the honey everywhere else. Finally, they presented us with some petit four options but there was 5 options. The caramel chocolate bit was the best one out of the bunch, followed by the almond cookie, bonbon, gelatin, and I don't even remember the other one. This place was an incredibly unique experience with some of the best service I've ever had, but the food was a little lackluster. I would highly recommend visiting once or going for a corporate event. This all came out to $350.

Reservations are very hard to come by, only for Black Card members, recently Platinum Card can also make reservations, but you have to call Amex and ask them to help you make a reservation. View: It has a breathtaking view of the New York skyline. Food: This restaurant is run by Daniel Boulud's team, so the food tastes up to Michelin level, the ingredients are fresh, seasonal ingredients are used, and it's good value for money. ‍ Service: The service is very good and makes you feel attentive. Definitely want to go back again, but so hard to book a place ah!

Centurion New York is on the 55th Floor of One Vanderbilt. A collaboration with Chef Daniel Boulud, the food is what you would expect, excellent. The views are simply among the best in the city. Although just opened, the service is very good. Looking forward to using it on a regular basis. The views are phenomenal.

I only expected good ambience and amazing city views, but was pleasantly surprised that the food turned out to be the highlight!!! For the drinks we ordered Pina colada ( good) and something with beetroot which we loved more. It's been a couple of weeks so I don't remember the names of all the dishes but posting pics hoping it helps Everything we ordered tasted delicious, well cooked and aromatic. Went for Mr's bday for which they provided complimentary chocolate cake. Highly recommend this one! Yes it's expensive, but food and views and the entire experience justifies the $$$$$$$

I know I'm stating the obvious when I'm saying the views are spectacular which is what you expect on the 55th floor of one Vanderbilt. The service was great. Our waiter was named echo everyone and staff was impeccably dressed. The food was at a high standard, but the duck was chewy. The black bass was OK. The lobster was very good which was an up charge. The five cheese is also an up charge but very good. The star of the night was the seared Foie Gras unbelievable. They had a reasonable Turley' Zinfidel on the wine list. You come here for the incredible experience and views the food good not great is secondary.

    THE view!

Absolutely beautiful restaurant with better views than anywhere else in NYC. Expensive but what else did you expect? Okay food, wonderful cocktails, impeccable service.

Awesome experience overall, views are incredible from anywhere in the restaurant. I started with a salad that was good but the dressing was a bit too sweet. Steak was perfect, as was my margarita.

Our waitress was cordial, kinda business like. It took a while to get drinks ordered. They took our orders - I got the Branzino and my wife ordered the price fixe. The French onion soup she got as her first course was delightful! So rich, beautifully done!!! That was the high point. The branzino when they brought it out they spilled a decent bit of the sauce on my wife's foot (she was in sandals). No real apology and no one offered to give her anything to clean up. The branzino was ok. Nothing to write home about. My wife got the chicken - WAAAAAY over-fried. Dry as a bone. Mashed potatoes and hericots verts on her dish were delish! Profiteroles for dessert were good as well. It was an ok meal but not worth the price. Probably would not return.

I had a 7pm reservation, but was running late, and they were flexible and told me to come any time. Upon my arrival, I was seated by the piano. The pianist playing that night, Andrew Abrahamsen, was very talented. He played an eclectic mix of songs, including "I Will Survive," Disney's "When You Wish Upon a Star," and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." As the night went on, he played Happy Birthday for me, and went on a 90s Disney Renaissance spree, playing songs including "Go the Distance" from Hercules, "Out There" from Hunchback of Notre Dame, "Beauty and the Beast," and "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story. Ordered black tiger shrimp for my entree. It smelled wonderful, and especially peppery once the waiter added pepper to it. The risotto the shrimp sat on was also very delicious. I ended up taking this to go, and it still tasted great later on! For dessert, I chose the lemon tart brûlée with raspberry sorbet. It came with "Happy Birthday" written on the plate with chocolate, and a candle on the sorbet. As always, the ambiance and decor is very beautiful, with portraits of Josephine Baker to honor the revolutionary badass woman. Thanks for the great birthday dinner, Chez Josephine!

Starters: - French onion soup, au gratin, was perfect. Great onion profile and lots of it. Not overly salty so that was good. - Beef tartare, classic French bistro staple, must order this. The portion was quite generous and it was delicious. We couldn't stop eating it. The petite toasts were a nice accompaniment as well as the raddiccio salad - cheese board, IYKYK, I never met a cheese I didn't like. This board was matched with nice pairings. Think grapes, fig jam, and marcona almonds. The cheese were a classic French variety - bleu, comte and brie. For our entrees, my son opted for a sandwich and I got the steak. His croque Madame was really delicious. The bread, the ham, the baked cheese and the fried egg was so savory. Yummy. My steak was a sizeable portion but I purposely ordered the bigger ounces since I know we'd share. Fries are nice and skinny, perfectly seasoned. Our waiter was attentive and I asked for the table next to us given all the food I know we were getting. He was not sure if he could accommodate but I insisted he check with management. The bass had great flavor and came with sautéed spinach that was well cooked. It initially looked like a small portion but turned out to be plenty. The lamb chops were cooked to the requested temp and seasoned well. We left no crumbs. This one is definitely worth a try!

This space felt larger than the other locations I've been to, while still keeping the same cozy, charming, and beautiful vibe that defines their brand. We were a party of three, and each of us ordered different sandwiches and pastries. I got the Katie's Chicken Sandwich, which is one of my absolute favorites and something I order almost every time I'm visiting the city. For pastry, I tried the Cherry Croissant Cube for the first time, and I was honestly speechless. It was incredibly flavorful, delicious, and truly made my day. I 100% recommend trying it. For drinks, I ordered the seasonal Cherry Elderflower Spritz. It was just okay compared to everything else, but not bad. Overall, Maman continues to be my go-to brunch place in NYC, and this visit reminded me exactly why.

Unnecessary confrontation over a 5-minute early pickup…read more I'm a regular Too Good To Go customer and have picked up bags from Maman before without issue. This visit was a frustrating exception. The app activated the swipe button shortly after 5PM -- which Maman and several other stores have recently started allowing as an early pickup signal. I went to the store accordingly. The young male Hispanic employee at the register refused to hand over my bag, insisting the pickup window didn't start until 5:15. All the bags were already packed and ready. There were no other customers in line. I tried to explain how the app works and that early pickup had been allowed here before, but he repeatedly cut me off. At one point I said "if you want to play by the book, so be it" -- meaning it as a neutral acknowledgment. He took offense, raised his voice, and kept repeating "I don't play, you play" in an increasingly hostile tone. I asked if he understood the expression. He just kept repeating "I don't play." When I asked to speak with a manager, he said there wasn't one. When I asked what a customer is supposed to do when there's a problem with an employee, he told me to come back tomorrow and talk to him. This was completely avoidable. The bags were ready. It was a 5-10 minute window, allowed by the app. The confrontation served no purpose. I noticed the review posted the day before mine mentions "poor customer service at the register" -- I suspect we encountered the same person. Maman has a good reputation worth protecting. I'd encourage management to review this interaction and make sure this particular staff is trained properly.

The frites were the best I've had - super thin and crunchy and the mussels were fantastic in a delicious white wine sauce and again a LARGE portion. We were left happy and full - the Bordeaux Blanc we ordered was perfect to go with it all.

While the French Onion soup was still a stand-out dish, the painfully slow service detracted. There appeared to be a single waitress working. I didn't notice during my first visit if there were multiple servers, but the first time I did hear the waiter advise another table that the kitchen was behind and there would be a wait for food. (This didn't affect me since on my first visit I only ordered soup.) Same thing happened this time, and there was a significant delay between our soup/salad course and entrees. We were told the kitchen was backed up. this is apparently the norm. For appetizers, the French onion soup was a gold star dish. My friend had the goat cheese salad which she said was also very good. The Chicken Cordon Bleu was good, and a hard-to-find dish in NYC. While eating our entrees, the server never checked on how things were or if we needed anything. Once finished, we sat there for a long time waiting for our plates to be cleared, and finally had to "announce" that we were done and request our dessert (as we had ordered the prix fixe menu). For dessert we ordered the Dame Blanche and Profiteroles. I would recommend neither. The ice cream (in both) was poor quality, crystallized and not creamy. A real shame. In all, the meal too 2.5 hours due to the slow service. The soup remains fantastic. I'm downgrading my review to recommend this spot only for soup and salad and not a full, hours-long meal. For that, it's 5 stars, for a full meal a middling 3.
