Expensive! I quit going there because they continually charged me a $75 contact lens fitting fee when my prescription stayed the same.

Have been a patient for many years. Wonderful staff. Dr. Royo is no longer here but the current optometrist and ophthalmologist are fine.

I thought I'd provide my 2 cents of opinion after 10 years of Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK)…read moresurgery performed by Dr. Meister. My vision was horrible, considered legally-blind. I could only see clearly if you put your face up against mine. That's how bad! My vision was so poor that I wasn't eligible to have Lasix surgery. PRK surgery has afforded me to see without glasses or contact lenses. The recovery is slower than Lasix, but the gift of clear vision each week was a blessing provided by the skilled-hands of a talented surgeon. I was treated with respect & the team was supportive with my questions & concerns. Now, that I'm reaching middle-age, I'm thinking of a "touch-up" as typing this review is signaling my old-eyes may need a bit freshening!

It seems that previous yelpers rating Dr. Meister have been having trouble with their own record…read morekeeping and their own insurance carriers and are blaming him and his staff. That being said, here is MY experience with Dr. Meister: My vision was so bad I could not read large print 3 inches from my face without glasses or contact lenses. My optometrist recommended Dr. Meister so I went for a consult. The staff were so friendly and calming. (I was terrified because I am a wuss when it comes to my eyes or my teeth.) They reassured me that I would be adequately sedated during the procedure. The staff covered all of my questions and explained everything to me so there was no room for error on the day of. The front desk staff was very detailed and specific about what paperwork I needed to have filled out. They were also great when I called them and admitted I had lost my copy so they sent me over a new one. Gasp.. attitude free! Day of surgery: I went in and the super friendly staff made sure my paperwork was signed and gave me my first sedation pill. I couldn't stop fidgeting with nerves so they gave me a little extra to calm me. Once I was taken back into their surgical prep area I was still very nervous but the staff were comforting and supportive. When it was my time I went in, laid down and got my numbing drops. Again the surgical staff were extremely understanding of my terror. They began to walk me through what they were going to do so I stopped them. I let them know that details freak me out so if they could just tell me when I need to move, be still or any other instruction they needed me to follow and leave out all the details it would be better for all of us. They laughed and it wasn't a problem. The entire procedure took approximately 10 minutes. I walked outside and could immediately see but not 100% clearly. By my next day appointment my vision was 20/20 and now that it has been over a month I am operating better at 20/15. Dr. Meister and his staff completely changed my life (I can see street signs and don't pass dirt driveways in the dark twice before finding them now!) and my mothers life before me 10 years ago when the procedures were less advanced. I would recommend this office for your lasik procedures every time. Thanks guys!!

I had a very disappointing experience with the optician, Michelle…read more She did not assist me with selecting my glasses or explain my insurance benefits or options. I had to repeatedly ask questions on my own and eventually had to go to the front desk for help. Another staff member tried to assist me, but I felt this should have been handled by the optician. I even requested a different optician, but none were available, so I was sent back to Michelle, which made the interaction uncomfortable. After my visit, I completed a survey and requested follow-up. The office manager did call me, but no resolution was offered. Two months later, my glasses became scratched. When I contacted the office, I was told I had declined a warranty. However, this was never explained to me during my visit, and I did not sign or receive any documentation showing that I declined it. Overall, I felt unsupported throughout the entire process and that important information was not communicated to me. I would not return to this location.

No overcharging or weird stuff going on and everyone's always friendly. I also love my eye dr Scott Gittins!! I drive here all the way from Sacramento because I've searched high & low for a good eye doctor and he's awesome. He got my prescription right the FIRST time, gave me a suggestion on a contact brand that actually works for me, and I truly appreciate his knowledge! Also, my glasses are always made super quick. So thanks for being so great!

Everything was fine.. until picking the frames. The lady who assisted me here hardly let me have…read moreany say in what frames would work with my prescription, granted it is a strong one but she immediately said no to the few I did pick (and selected for that exact reason) even though they were thicker frames for the prescription, some were too big, too narrow, too wide, didn't work my face, didn't fit my nose. And I'm a bit more alternative and usually have a black rectangle frame, but she said the best looking ones, the ones that worked with my skin tone, the one that worked with my nose, were the neutral pinkish square frames... after so much consideration, she sold me on them, a brand new look and everything. I had repeatedly asked for blue light filter protection, but still had to call after I left to make sure they had applied this since they never confirmed it with me. Fast forward two weeks and I'm two days away from pick up, I'm ready! I get a call, same person, she can't do the prescription, the lenses and the frames just won't work, they're basically useless. Tells me to come in and we can pick out something else.. at this point though I'm just not coming back. Horrible experience. TLDR; know what you want or they will tell you and still not be able to deliver

a few days ago, my husband stepped on his relatively new progre$$ive glasses and mutilated them,…read morebending both the frame and the arm into unnatural shapes. his vision is poor, so jim relies a lot on them but he still managed to crunch them after working hours. the next day, we called FYidoctors and spoke with jackie, the optician; she told us to come in right after lunch. at first glance, jackie thought we'd have to get a new frame (jim had no back-up pair) because it looked truly mauled, but at least the lenses were still ok. she told us she would take them in back to try and work with them a little and hoped it didn't make them worse. after not too long, jackie came back and handed jim glasses, which looked very much like they did originally. what? he thought they were a different pair from the wreck he brought in; no, jackie fixed them and asked that he try them on. he could read just fine. we both kept looking up at her, incredulous that not only could they be re-shaped like new, but that her re-adjusting them made the prescription feel even better than before the abuse. jackie is a petite woman, very soft-spoken and not given to excess chatter (like i am). but she is warm, sincere, kind and very present in her dealings with you ...and she packs one helluva good optical repair. we wished we could have her as our PCPs and you will, too.

Very kind and professional office. Was disappointed in the choice of frames. Additionally, my exam…read morewas just a few weeks before they had a significant discount on a second pair. I would check on any upcoming promotional pricing in the future.
