Had never heard of this store and what a treat?! Large, bright, with lots of merchandise everywhere. I'm from out of town but needed a Steelers t-shirt for the next day's game. Upon entering it took us forever to get to that department because I kept stopping to "ooooh and aaaah" over decor, boots, pjs and all at unbelievably low pricing?! Sure enough we found exactly what I needed and paid a fourth of the cost at any other store. Awesome! Checking out was great as well. This place was FILTHY. Puke and trash everywhere. Idk what has happened to the management but some of the employees are very sassy and don't even say hello or thanks for coming. Just swipe your things and look at you weird. They need to be trained how to welcome staff. There's a lot of junk here but can definitely get good deals. It's getting to be so sketchy not sure i would go here alone. Management team needs to step up. I've been going here for years and can tell it's going downhill quickly. The public steals things and marks furniture with sharpies so it's ruined. Add more cameras in the store- put tags on things so nobody can steal things... there are solutions. This has become one of my favorite Gabe's in the Pittsburgh area. To be honest, it used to be my least favorite. I still think the one in Greensburg is still the best. But I have found multiple deals, dresses for $9.99, work shirts for less than $10, designer handbags at wonderful prices. I will say the shoe selection is not that great here, handbags are decent, but the clothes are always on point! The organization of the clothes on racks is much more organized here than the one at the Greensburg and Monroeville locations. Home selection is quite decent as well. And lastly, probably most importantly, the lines are rarely long because they typically have an adequate amount of cashiers unlike Monroeville. read more

I just left Gabes West Mifflin about 25 minutes ago and I was not paying attention at first but the cashier standing next to the cashier that rang me up for my order kept giving me dirty looks and shaking her head at me then she ask me if she could scan my rewards card for her customer. Not to be rude but they were both black and now I feel like they are trying to rob me because by scanning my card they can see my name, address and phone number and possibly my email. If I get robbed, I am suing Gabes. read more

Getting to this store is as much fun as shopping the racks. Selection is VERY hit or miss. If you have the time to be able to browse at your leisure, you might be able to score some great buys. But if you are there looking for a specific item from a specific brand, good luck. Every so often there is a good buyout to look through. I'm sure you could find better elsewhere. read more

C'mon, Yelpers - it's Gabes! Of course the selection is hit or miss. They don't really have a ton of control over their inventory! BUT, when it's a good day at Gabes, you really feel like you've struck gold. On top of that, if you're in need of something bizarre, Gabes prob has it. Some of my past scores: purple suede slouchy boots for an 80s-themed party for $10, TuPac playing cards for 99 cents, a flask that says "What Wouldn't Jesus Do?" for $2, gold Pour La Victoire gladiator sandals for - I kid you not - $1.99, and, this is one of my faves, a GABRIEL BROTHERS polo shirt for $1! Yup. It was one of their own polo shirts that the screenprinter messed up, and now I can benefit from their loss and rep Gabes. Boom. It's awesome. If you enjoy the thrill of thrifting, or you like to score an awesome deal, just check out Gabes. They have: men's, women's, and children's clothing, shoes, underwear/lingerie, housewares, furniture (sometimes), pet stuff, cleaning supplies, a random aisle of shampoo and styling products, cards, and even some electronics. Every Gabes location has different inventory, too, so don't let a mediocre visit to one dissuade you -- Gabes is a modern day treasure hunt. read more

Gabe's is a great store! sometimes it a hit or miss though. The only thing i love is that it was more organized and less mess. As walking around, there was so many different shirts and pants in so many different secretions and i just got completely overwhelmed but other then that super cheap and really nice staff! All discount stores are hit and miss but I found some cute deals here. I've been avoiding Gabe's Bc sometimes their clothes are just too thin and sometimes seem made cheaply (going off of their winter selection). The summer selection seemed a lot better than thin long sleeve shirts in the freezing cold . . Maybe that's why I had a better experience at Gabe's this time around This was my first time to this location BTW. I browsed the juniors section, colorful spring dresses and maxi dresses as well as shoes. Not too bad. Oh also they have better deals than target Burlington and even Walmart for sports bras & gym attire. I may have to check it out more often here. Also tons of Nike shoes @ $50. That's not the greatest amount of savings when comparing to department stores (JCP, sears) but whatever read more

Really hit or miss. Yesterday was a miss. I prefer some of the other locations, they seem to have more higher end clothing (like in the old days of Gabe's). Most of what was on the racks today was really low quality synthetic clothing, and nothing for me! read more

I love this store and shop here once a year when I'm in town. I live in RI and we don't have a Gabe's. :( This is a great place to find designer clothes at a fraction of the price, but you have to love looking through all the racks to find the hidden gems! read more

Gabe's is a great place to get great deals but sometimes you find stuff and sometimes you don't. It's hit or miss. They always have great deals on Nike's. They sell clothing, rugs, bedding, toys, food, pet items and so many other things. You never know what you will find. People of all ages, cultures, and financial statuses shop there. Everyone is on the hunt for a good deal. read more

As I said in my tip, I drove out here thinking that this was going to be completely awesome. I've dug through bargain racks before. But this is no Century 21. Pretty much all of the clothes I found were hideous. That's almost 2 hours of my life that I can never get back. read more

I can't believe the reviewers here hate Gabes. Sure, about 80% of the time I stop in there, there is nothing to be had, but the other 20% of the time I score some great deals. Like a Cabellas Leather Coat for $40. Dress shirts, $4. Don't drive out of your way to go here, but if you are in the area and have a few minutes to kill, Gabe's is worth a stop. read more
