Great resale shop. Judy is a wonderful person and I have bought many items here over the last 20 years.

I like this shop. It's a four minute walk from my home. Judy is wonderful and this shop has something everyone! She keeps her prices very reasonable and at times gives extra discounts when checking out. She has been there since the 70s! And don't forget the coffee tree is across the street! Judy the owner is an absolute gem! I had such a blast shopping here and the selection was amazing. My aunt, my cousin, my mom and I all found tons of adorable pieces of clothing during our last haul. I was lucky enough to visit during their "$10 fill a bag" sale of winter clothing and got some fantastic deals. There really is something for everyone that wears women's clothing here. Things were sized and organized perfectly, the fitting rooms were nice and tidy, and again Judy was so pleasant and fun to chat with as we tried things on! Ohh I love this store!! Judy, the owner, is the absolute sweetest. Her clothing selection is always some of the best quality brands. The prices are fair and she has great deals. I love how whenever I go, there is a fully stocked store with tons of items perfect for the season you're in. Just a reminder that you can only pay cash and check, but there are a lot of banks next door and across the street where you can take cash out. What a surprise! My mom and I went out for lunch on Friday, and we decided to stop in this little shop afterwards. It's kind of hard to spot, but it's right near Cafe io deli & there's a chalkboard sign out front that directs you upstairs. We walked in not really knowing what to expect, but we found a cute boutique filled with very nice resale clothing. I was able to find a pair of Nikes that were just my size, and I fell in love with them. (Not to mention, I got them for $10). I saw several unique, vintage items that you would have trouble finding in stores now, so I think there are some great finds here. The items were in great shape, and you can tell the owner is selective with what she chooses to put in her store. Speaking of which, she is so sweet, and she will make you feel right at home as soon as you arrive! Another great thing about this place is that they donate the clothes that don't sell to charity if they don't sell within a certain amount of time. That way the clothes aren't just sitting there for years on end, and they are actually being put to good use. After I figured that out, I gained a lot of respect for this little shop, and I will definitely be back again soon. Oh and be sure to know it's cash/checks only! read more

There isn't a huge selection but it is all good stuff at reasonable prices. The owner couldn't be nicer and she is ready to negotiate. I picked up 7 or 8 items for less than $80 including a new-with-tags pair of designer pants. This place doesn't come up on Google searches, I don't think she has a website. But it should be on your list of consignment shops. The Clothes Horse is located on the second floor of a building across the street from The Coffee Tree. They only take cash or check. read more

I just went today after wanting to check it out for almost 6 months. I caught the half off sale off of already very reasonable prices. The selection varies from things like Express and H&M to Eileen Fisher and John Paul Gautelier. Shoes are all in nice shape and a few are even new with box. The owner is a really nice and friendly woman who was good to my son. I would recommend this for anyone looking to browse casual and work clothes alike! read more

I honestly don't believe there is a better consignment store in the Pittsburgh area. The Clothes Horse is AMAZING! I find something every time I go and end up wanting to go back again to see what's new the next week. Judy, the owner, is a real sweetheart and so is Amy, her employee. She truly loves her store and makes everyone who enters feel like they are a new friend. The store is full of quality, name brand items that are all "like" new or new, nothing ever shabby. This place "rocks!" I have known Judy the owner of here for years! And, her employee, Amy, is as sweet as can be! I purchased a Louis Vuitton tote here for a reasonable price. I then took it to LV store and they shipped it back to the repair shop to get it relined. It is such a "Priceless piece!" I'm so glad to find such great finds here! I love it here! read more

The Clothes Horse is an amazing little business. I went to Lincoln Elementary School (a 2 minute walk) and have been going to the Clothes Horse since I was there (I'm in college now). I can't count the number of amazing jeans/homecoming/formal/prom dresses I've gotten there that are beautiful and amazingly priced. My prom dress was originally priced $450 (brand new with tags) and I got it for $100, along with my shoes, earrings, purse, and amazing advice about my hair and makeup. I also got a barely used pair of J Brand jeans for $15 or $20 that would've been upwards of $200. Judy truly knows her sh*t and isn't afraid to tell you whether something makes you look like a walking sack, a goddess, or is just meh. I'm pretty sure 90% of my wardrobe comes from the Clothes Horse, and because of that I'm that kid that shows up to 8 AM lectures looking like a zombie but a "model off duty" zombie. 10000000/10 would recommend to anyone, even my worst enemy. read more
