Vinn was my hairstylist and he did an amazing job! He spent time analyzing my hair, the haircut that I had, and what could be improved, which was a lot! He spent almost 2 hours with me and gave me the most beautiful cut I ever had. He was thorough, meticulous, precise, and a perfectionist, and it all showed in my haircut. Never have I had anyone spend the time that he did with my hair! Just amazing! I would recommend him to anyone and everyone. Not only that, he is very reasonable, but more than anything, whatever you pay is more than worth it there with Vinn. He works in a small salon but the vibe is good : quiet enough and nice music. But what Vinn can do with your hair will NOT disappoint! You will get the best cut you have ever had in your life! read more

Gina and her team saved my hair! I am usually skeptical of salons in hotels, but this one is definitely an exception. Not a very big salon, nothing fancy, but Gina and her team are so nice, knowledgeable, and they actually care about you and your hair! Thankfully she had an opening, so I took it, and I wasn't disappointed! I just needed a quick trim and some help since my hair has been taking a beating with the wrong shampoo/conditioners, lots of travel, chlorine from pools and hard water at home. She knew exactly which products to recommend, how I needed to use them, and gave me a plan to move forward in bringing my hair back to health! I liked that she didn't try to push lots of products, just what I needed. I highly recommend Gina and her team at the G Salon & Spa! You have to go through the Marriott (which I DO NOT recommend), but don't let that deter you... I promise you won't be disappointed!! Call ahead to make sure they can fit you in, because they're popular and walk-ins are not guaranteed. read more

As an out of tower from MA, I visited the G Salon and Spa to have my hair styled for my niece's wedding and I do not have enough words to describe my experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was the only one in the salon, despite it being fairly busy. Gina and Yomary were so attentive and understood exactly what I was looking to achieve with my hair. I have extremely thick hair so styles don't hold for long periods of time but my hair looked amazing at the end of the night as it did when I walked out of the salon! I received so many compliments! Thank you for making me feel so special! read more

The salon is in the Marriott hotel. We were staying there for a day and I walked past it on the way to my room. I needed a trim and they booked me for later that day. Great experience...Vinnie did an excellent job. Very good vibes. I'll be back if I get the opportunity. Thank you so much. read more

Divya at it, once again! She totally saved my hair!!! I had waited over a year to cut my hair because I'm very picky with who cuts my hair being that I've always had my hair very long. First off, let me say I am extremely picky about who does my hair. I get a Brazilian Blowout every 4-6 months, which is well worth it to me. Without the treatment, it takes me about an hour to blow dry, and straighten my hair to my liking. With the treatment, it maybe takes me 15 minutes. well worth the price, if you ask me. Having just moved to Rhode Island from Florida, I was extremely nervous about finding someone amazing to trust with my hair. I went online and looked up the best rated salon, an establishment that had been in Providence for decades. I went and had an extremely disappointing experience. While everyone there was nice, it was clear that the stylist had not had an updated training in a while, and that caused the treatment to last only about a month. I was reluctant to try again and I really wondered if I should make a trip down to Florida to see my hairstylist. Then, I read online about the G Salon! I called, and Divya answered the phone. It was truly fate! She took my appointment down, and I went to see her a few weeks later. I explained all of my concerns and described the lackluster experience I had at the other salon. She was so knowledgeable and really took her time to make sure I had the perfect experience! I was so happy with how my hair turned out! One of the best blowouts I had ever had. I couldn't stop talking about how wonderful she was. Her precision to detail, ensure that the treatment lasted the full amount of time. I went back last month to see her again, and had just as pleasant of an experience, with the same wonderful results! I highly recommend booking an appointment at G Salon and asking for Divya. Not only is she a skilled professional in her field, she is extremely personable and makes you feel like you are chatting with an old friend. I am a forever client. read more

I had the pleasure of having my makeup done by Kristen J. a couple weeks ago and it was a great experience. She was well prepared and we went over the foundation options before she started, she had a very gentle hand and was very warm and welcoming. I had never been to the G Salon before but it was bright, clean and welcoming. It was a quiet Sunday morning but a pleasure. My only negative is it was hard to find within the hotel for a first timer, some directional signs would be helpful read more

Best day ever! I booked an updo and make-up for my 25th wedding anniversary. Cannot say enough great things about the team. They welcomed me, put me at ease and proceeded to give me a dream look with very little help from me. I literally put myself in their hands and am so glad I did. I could never have imagined or come up with the choices they made. Cheyenne did my hair and is a total cutie- delightful, engaging, kind and a master sculptor with hair. Adania did my make-up and I have never felt more beautiful. Amazing to say at age 55. Gina, who owns the salon booked my appointment and chose the members of her team that suited me perfectly. I wish I could give them 10 stars. read more

I didn't want to write a review because I want to keep this place my hidden gem but honestly it is only fair to share with everyone because they are so so so incredible. I had a horrible hair dye from Salon Bianco on Atwells and this place was somehow able to completely change/fix it and make me look like a new person. I have never looked into the mirror and genuinely loved the way I looked until I had them do my hair. Vinny and Gina are truly two of the most talented people out there (plus they are just so incredibly kind). I've had random people at the store come up to me and say that whoever dyed my did a perfect job and clearly they are experts. I will never go anywhere else to get my hair done read more

Divya is on point for threading. Affordable $10 a month threading membership. Pre-covid you could just walk in at any time and have threading done. Now you just need to call from the parking lot to let them know you are there. No appointment needed. read more

The staff at this salon is very friendly and professional. I truly love this place! I've been doing my eyebrows with Divya Bista for a long time and I'm always satisfied with her work. It's the best place to get your eyebrows threaded. And they literally have the best deal you can possibly find! A $10/month membership and you can get your eyebrows threaded as many times as you want per month. Trust me, you will not find this deal anywhere else. I always recommend this salon to my friends and family. read more

I spent most of a Saturday at the G Salon. It was my first visit and needed color correction, a cut and hair repair due to over processing. Gina was absolutely amazing. She is warm, personable and knows what she is doing. She also took the time to explain the process and how to take care of my hair after I left. I cannot thank her enough! I booked my second appt. already and looking forward to seeing Gina and the staff again. Some reviews said it is pricey. My visit was truly an investment in myself and one I did not regret! I have paid more at other salons and was not nearly as satisfied as I was with G Salon. It's not all about the money! read more

My pedicure looks like a 5 year old did it. The polish was messy and everything about the experience was horrible. She didn't even trim my nails until I asked her to do so. The set up was extremely awkward. You sit in a square chair and rest your feet on a ottoman that the woman is also sitting on. The entire experience was less than professional and it was over-priced for the level of service and lack of attention to detail. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I wanted to like G Spot Salon, but overall it was not an experience I would like to repeat. Here's why: 1) My haircut took FOREVER. Meaning, about three hours. Seriously. Now, at the time, I did have substantial hair to cut - it's very thick, very curly and was very long. However, three hours? That's a HUGE chunk of my day that should have been spent doing much more important things. Oh, and all I had done was a haircut - yup. No color, no highlights, not even a blow out (which I would have actually liked). I just went in for a trim. 2) No blow out. These came to be standard issue, as most stylists needed to "check the lines" of my cut and could only get a clear reading on the copious amounts of hair by doing said blowout. The stylist at G Spot didn't know how to do it properly, so instead she recklessly blew my massive head of curls dry hurly-burley (Yikes!) and proceeded to IRON my hair. Disaster? Yes. Time-consuming? Totally. After poofed-up my hair was flattened, she went over it again with the scissors. And again. And again. Painful. 3) The shop was actively being renovated while appointments were in the chairs. Now, I understand this was somewhat unavoidable, but when I go to a salon, I do appreciate a calm, peaceful and relaxing experience aided somewhat by the ambiance. I felt that no effort was made to calm the atmosphere amidst the chaos, especially since the stylists were shouting to each other from their stations. I was privy to a whole lot of personal information about the entire team. Not exactly professional. My stylist was nice enough, if inexperienced. I wanted to like it, as I said, but it just wasn't a polished, professional establishment. Perhaps I should have gathered as much from the name! read more

I'm not going to split any hairs (har har), I'm a bit cheap when it comes to my locks. I use box dye and probably get a haircut every 4-5 months. That being said, I am acutely aware that you get what you pay for. In the bright warm sunshine of one spring-like day last week, I was able to fully assess the damaged ends of my hair, the snapped-off flyaways lining my part and hairline, and the overall dullness that denotes poor maintenance. I knew I couldn't hold my hair hostage to my wallet for one more day. I decided to try The G Spot Salon, thinking they were still in Davol Square. I called and the woman on the other end was really nice but I was put on hold for 5 minutes and then hung up on. I called again and successfully made my appointment for ten minutes later. But when I plugged them into my GPS I came up with a different address than was listed in other places, and I had to call them again. I have to admit it was weird walking into a hotel to get my haircut. When I finally found them I had snaked my way past the pool and down a hallway, sure I was wandering into guest-only territory before reaching the small, brightly lit (and a bit chaotic) salon. I waited for about fifteen more minutes and then sat down in Gina's chair. She's very charismatic, down to earth, and professional. I immediately felt like I was in good hands. She heard me out and delivered on the cut. And I mean cut. Probably five or six inches off, and I absolutely love it. She also took the time to explain why she was blowdrying my hair the way she was and how I could do it myself. She's great. But the disorder of the salon was evident, as when Gina couldn't find one of her tools, and the disorder was compounded by the overall shabbiness -- worn chairs, small ratty hair towels, hair from past appointments still on the floor. I have to admit I was surprised when I found out I was paying $65 for my haircut, and I couldn't figure out why it bothered me so much until I started writing this review. So here it is: I may have gotten a $65 haircut, but I did not necessarily have a $65-dollar-a-haircut experience. read more

I always get my threading done at the Marriott location because Divya is amazing and the $10 unlimited threading deal is worth it. There is a new girl threading and he did a beautiful job but she was VERY slow and the slower they are the more painful it is. It took a full 30 minutes for what usually takes 5-10. I think since Divya is gone I'll try the other location on Angell. read more

I visited about a month ago....so my review is slightly delayed. I went for a bikini wax on the recommendation of a friend, as the woman that I usually see was on maternity leave. (She is at a different salon.) First, the key to the treatment rooms where massage, facials, and waxing is done was no where to be found when I arrived and we were locked out of the space. The staff worked with the hotel to try and get the space open quickly. It did take about 20/25 minutes for the hotel and salon staff to get the space open for us. WIth that being said, everyone handled the situation really well. I was offered beverages and Gina, the owner, came out herself to apologize. I was also offered a significant discount on the service. I happened to not be in a rush, and was able to take some work calls, so it worked out just fine. The service was decent. (I apologize for not remembering the technician's name that worked with me.) The wax of choice is hot wax, where I am used to cold wax. I have discovered I prefer the cold wax. The technician that I usually see spoils me as she is so good and thorough. The treatment room was neat, clean, and tidy. I felt comfortable there. The price was a bit expensive -- a simple bikini wax was $40 before the discount. I typically pay $30. If I did not have my usual spot (and technician who was on leave has now returned), I would go back to GSpot. But as long as Nicole is working, she is who I will see. read more

After just moving to Rhode Island I was in search of the most important thing a girl needs-a great stylist. Unfortunately I was a bit impatient before I found one and ended up at Supercuts, MK story needed there, it was my own fault. Anyways, through the grape vine I found out about The G Spot salons new customer special-free shampoo, cut and style for new customers. Count me in! Tiffany was my stylist along with some input from Kerry, the salon manager. It took two Brian's to fix my botched hair cut. It took about 2 hours to get it all fixed, which is a small price to pay. They seem to offer a little bit of everything. I will definitely be returning! Oh their salon motto is-"The G-Spot Salon; if you can't find it you can't come." (Pun intended) read more

I spent 4 hours here. The first stylist who cut my hair messed it up so badly that the best stylist had to come and fix her mess. I liked the end look, but it took a whole 4 hours in rock hard chairs which actually really bothered my back for the next two weeks, and it took two stylists. Priced reasonably, but it should be anyway after that experience, if not be made free. I would never return here. read more

I came in for a facial and pedicure and it was great! My esthetician was Jocelyn and she performed both services. She was friendly, efficient and talented. I left the salon feeling refreshed, relax and happy, having had a great conversation. On the business side of things, I thought the price point was a little high. Polish selection was limited, the bottles looked old, some half empty and the area to do the pedicure was pretty shabby. Decor was shabby and dated. For the price point, you expect to be in an updated, pristine facility. It was my esthetician's skill, professionalism and personality that made me feel like I got my monies worth. I strongly recommend you request Jocelyn. She is a star. read more

It was nothing but an amazing experience and I have since then been back! I loved my haircut experience at G-Spot. I was referred by a girl I met with great hair and my experience certainly lived up to the expectation she set, as did my great-looking hair. Except for one thing. The haircut was $15 more than my usual place - so a splurge...worth it at first. Then I stopped back in for my promised "free bang-trim" between haircuts. Well, my "free bang trim" cost $10! It seems my stylist was dishonest about pricing and I probably won't go back because of it. The stylist also took photos of me under the agreement that she'd email them to me. She never did. Honesty & follow-through are high values in my book and I won't pay G Spot's higher prices without them. read more

Amanda Plasse is the best! She did a cut, color, condition and style - perfect! Too bad I'm in LA... :(

A great salon tucked into the Marriott hotel, just off the lobby. The staff is incredibly friendly, outgoing and very very interested in ensuring you are satisfied with their service. The owner, Gina, has been there during both of my visits and takes great pride in her salon. I'm just a dude who likes a little more attention to my hair than a barber gives, and would recommend a visit to the G Spot salon. Full service hair, nails and hair removal... I'm sure they have more. Give them a call and drink some caffeine before you arrive so you can keep up with the high energy staff. read more

I went for a pedicure, $60.00, this is Providence not the MGM in Las Vegas. The young lady filed my foot until it was raw. Never again.

Hi As other yelpers mentioned, I was anticipating a wonderful, relaxing experience.I had the bowl with the rocks, wahoo. My technician was very nice, but I get a better mani, pedi at Miniluxe for half the price. My mani, pedi took place in a "temporary" hotel room, apparently, there was a leak in the salon. This did not make the experience nice at all. I still cannot get over the price. The products were nothing special, no aroma therapy, no paraffin treatment. Two days later the polish is starting to chip. Very disappointed. read more
