I called the salon ( at the suggestion of a friend), on the Friday before Easter. I needed a clean up so to speak, my hair was just feeling too heavy & not falling right & I wanted to look my best on Easter( family stuff, ex, in-laws) . I called up around 5:30& Jessica told me to come in, she'd make sure someone could take me before they closed & I just might have to wait. I had Beatrice. New to me. Let's just say she texturized my whole head& I left feeling like a million bucks. She didn't " overcharge"& she's cool with great hair! Always a good sign. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience. They did not inform me when booking over the phone that I was booking an appointment with a person who was charging significantly more than the price they listed online. The website quoted around $130 and I was charged $220. Normally, my foils take around 2 hours with other salons I've gone to, it took 4 1/2 hours here. I came in at 9 am and left at almost 2 pm. The stylist who I think was named Daniela was late for the appointment and spent most of the time talking about her life and, whenever she was talking, she would stop what she was doing and not be doing my hair. There were several times where she was talking and not doing anything to my hair for multiple minutes at a time. After 4 1/2 hours of this, I was so tired that by the time they told me the price, I paid and left because I wanted to get the hell out of there and not make a big deal in front of other customers. I figured I would call to resolve the matter privately. When I called in to discuss the behavior and price, I was told that it was my fault for not asking for a solid price before the service. I was referred to speak to the stylist who gave me attitude when telling me that I was in the wrong here. I am usually an understanding person, but this situation felt very wrong. If a service is listed for a price on a company website, it is not the customer's fault for assuming that the price will be around that much if it is not clearly stated that it will be otherwise. When she broke down the price for me, she stated that it was more expensive because my hair was "so thick" but I was never told during the process that the price would be so drastically affected by my hair type. I was referred to them by a friend who recommended the salon and told me she gets the same thing done and a treatment as well for around $170. She also has much thicker hair than I do. For me to get less than her for a higher price is incredibly frustrating. read more

I have been a client of Salon Serenity for the last 10 plus years. The new location is adorable. I have had most of the stylists there for a service at one point or another and I always get the best service. The girls there are up to date on all the trending hairstyles and products and are able to accomplish it for me! I love my hair, thanks Ladies! read more

It's not like me to do this but my experience has been short from perfect and I can't stop thinking about it. The first time I ever went to salon serenity, I booked my appt with Desiree through her instagram page. A couple of days before my appt she wouldn't return any of messages to confirm my appt, I had to hunt down the number to the salon and call several times to reach her. Come to find out she double booked my time slot to someone else instead of asking the other person to reschedule I was asked to. Due to the inconvenience/error she said she would understand if I no longer wanted to rebook- Of course I still wanted my hair done that's why I made the appointment in the first place- which she end up offering to do it for free (to be nice I'm guessing) which I still tipped above 20% on regardless of it being free. But anyway, this was my first time ever dying my hair, I was really nervous about it. I got a full color (dark brown) I was planning to go back in 6-7 weeks for a touch up because my hair is dark as it is so I didn't think I'd have to go sooner (and she told me the same) Sure enough while parting my hair to straighten it I noticed underneath the top layer was just my natural hair color just after 2 weeks... I said something to her and it seemed like no big deal. But I still decided to go back to her a couple of days before thanksgiving. Again, it seemed like she double booked herself on my time slot. She was more concerned with her friends unicorn hair than doing mine and kind of left me off to the side. Just after 2 weeks again, I noticed the same problem. I messaged her and this was what I got in response. I contacted one of my friends from high school who works at a high end salon for advice on my hair and was told what Desiree was proposing to do to fix my hair was not the way to go about the problem and that it was human error and not the product. I paid 79$ for 2 weeks of color and wasn't even asked how I wanted my hair styled after she dried it. It's quite disappointing being blamed for a hair dresser's shortcoming and didn't care to make things right. I was told by her she's had this issue with another client as well. So it seems like she obviously needs to rethink how she's going about things and be more courteous. read more

I have been a client of the owner Jess for 10+ years! Salon is amazing and so are all the stylists ! They never disappoint and are more than accommodating with my hectic work schedule. They have come in as early at 6:30 am and stayed as late as 11pm to accommodate. I constantly get compliments on how great my color looks! Highly recommended ! 5 star across the board!! read more

Honestly, I tried to get in contact with the owner 4 times before posting this hoping to have it fixed. But this was the worst salon experience I've ever had. From a late stylist, to a raging hot salon, ending with orange "caramel" highlights with a dark brown base when I came in for BLONDE balyage, to leaving with a dye stained forehead, everything was a pretty bad experience. I've honestly never had a bad salon experience until now, and I'm pretty disappointed based on what my hair looked like when I left my appointment. The whole appointment felt rushed, and the color I was rushed out with definitely reflected that. Definitely would not recommend based on my experience. read more

I have been going to Salon Serenity since it opened and prior to that I've followed the owner, Jess C, from place to place for a looong time. All three of my sisters, my mother, my sister in law, and my husband to name a few, go to Salon Serenity and love it. The prices are good, the talent is amazing, and the atmosphere is friendly and chic. Jess and her girls did my wedding, including make up by Mel T and Custom Airbrush Tanning by Jess W, and we looked and felt beyond beautiful! To say Jess goes above and beyond for her clients is an understatement! Make sure you call a few weeks ahead as they are typically very busy making people beautiful! read more

I hope this review will help other people and that this will never happen to anyone else in the future. I went to the salon for a loose curl perm. I did not get what I paid for. My hair is as straight as it was when I came in. First off, I was sent home with my hair wet, which hindered me to see the full extent of the disaster that was made on my head. It wasn't until I got home that I saw it wasn't curly, which at that point I immediately contacted the stylist and sent pictures of my straight haIr. I contacted both the salon and the stylist multiple times and have gotten no where other than blamed for the problem. I just wanted to get it fixed or my money back. I have sent them pictures of what my hair looks like and they recommended I go back to the salon to BUY curling products! Honestly I wish I could give a good review but it's just so disappointing and since nothing has been done to fix the problem I have to leave a bad review. read more
