The restaurant is located right…read morealong the busy Yonge Street strip in Richmond Hill, surrounded by plenty of shops, cafés, and plazas, so it's an easy stop whether you're meeting friends or just exploring the area. The vibe inside is cozy and relaxed with a modern café-bistro feel. It's bright, welcoming, and definitely lives up to the name "Chillax." It feels like the kind of place you can sit and enjoy a slow brunch or a casual dinner without feeling rushed. For brunch, two dishes really stood out. The braised pork eggs Benedict was fantastic. The pork was tender and flavorful, and it paired perfectly with the creamy hollandaise and poached eggs. The gochujang fried chicken brioche burger was another highlight. The chicken was crispy with just the right amount of spice, and the soft brioche bun tied everything together. We also came back for dinner and tried the seafood paella, which was rich, comforting, and packed with seafood. It's definitely a great dish to share. For drinks, the cheesy mango ice matcha was surprisingly good. The mango adds sweetness while the cheese foam makes it creamy and indulgent. A really unique combination that works well. Prices are pretty reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, with most dishes around the $20-$30 range. Overall, it's a great spot for brunch, dinner, or just drinks. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu!

An order of soft serve matcha and tiramisu-choux. Beverages were a kumquat-berry fizz and mint (something) fizz and glass of house red. The food was exquisite and amazing. The laksa was beautiful in flavor. The service was so fast, the food came out quickly and the service was friendly, helpful with recommendations. Really hidden gem. The latte and Horlick latte in Chinese themed cups and saucers were cute and the matcha Sando was crunchier and more tasty than expected. Do be careful of the sando as it topples over easily and we sadly lost all our cream to the table after the picture was taken. They use Hatch coffee beans - lattes were not very strong but we could taste the aroma of the beans. There's also free board games to play and a photo room for pictures too. Great place and space to chill at Times Square. It's on the same floor as Awesome Hotpot on the second floor, just make a left after going up the escalators.

Rarely, would you find a place that can pull off being a brunch/lunch place during the mornings and afternoons and a club and lounge by night. On a Saturday morning where I was looking for a place to grab a bite and to kill a bit of time, I realized through Yelp that Sugar Cafe Lounge is actually open by 10am. I didn't even know they open in the mornings prior to this. The vibe of this place strikes me as a modernized Chinese karaoke place. It totally reminds me of the karaoke places that I used to frequent back in the day. They have the same black and neon purple/pink colour scheme. Dice shakers were readily available and visible. The modernisation portion can be attributed to the existence of a photo booth and kildult style cartoon characters wall stickers along the walls/window. And for a "club/lounge", the servers were definitely very polite and attentive which is a stark contrast to the service that you may come to expect in early 2000s karaoke places. My feeling towards the curry katsu egg Benedict is equally complicated. I think the dish has so much potential, but currently has several flaws. Let's start on a positive note. The hollandise sauce was a fit with the curry flavour. The built in acidity also worked to tone down the sauce's heaviness. But even with the acidity, it was a pretty heavy sauce. I like the taste of the sauce, but it's just too too heavy. The egg whites for the Benedict was a bit over cooked and getting on the rubbery side, yet the yolk remained runny. Which I found odd. The katsu pork is a bit on the smallish side and the batter did not seem like the Japanese panko style batter (seemed a bit closer to HK style). The pork was under seasoned, so the taste was hugely reliant on the sauce. They clearly used some form of milk bread for the dish. It's a decently thick slice, and it didn't seem like your typical wonder bread, but the bread also added to the heaviness of the entire dish. I have no clue how the vibe is at night or how busy it gets, but my feeling towards this place is a little bit complicated.

Initially we were going for the idea of breakfast, but timing was a bit off from what we anticipated and it was a really nice lunch date instead. I love the Markham Marriott, the staff is always warm and welcoming. Draco has a very sleek, sophisticated and cozy atmosphere. We both ordered Bacon & Cheddar burgers. I opted for a Caesar salad as an appetizer and hubby ordered their Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak. Let's start with the apps. The Caesar salad was SO good! I wish I had taken a pic, but admittedly, my phone was tucked away and I was caught up in the cozy seating, great food and Christmas vibes of the restaurant and lobby. Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak: $33 - Buttercup Squash Puree and Truffle Oil - Everything you want Wagyu to be - tender, cooked to the perfect temp which left a nice warm red centre. This was melt in your mouth good! The burgers - these were perfection! Draco Bacon Cheddar Burger: $25 - Aged Cheddar with Crispy Bacon Strips; Crispy Onion Straws, Arugula and Garlic Aioli. This was a very well seasoned patty, so juicy and a substantial sized patty of fresh not frozen beef. The bun was lightly toasted, bacon crispy, easily taking this into my top 3 fav spots for burgers! Options for sides include fries, sweet potato fries, poutine, side Caesar or garden salad or truffle fries. We finished off our meal with 2 really good cappuccinos and just took our time before heading home. This was our first time back here in a few years. The food was exceptional as was the service and the warm staff. Draco is the perfect spot for an early morning breakfast, work or lunch date or a nice cozy dinner. They also have Christmas & New Years dinners and brunches. Relax in the restaurant with drinks or in the adjacent lounge, this is a great spot to unwind with some great food and drinks.
