It looked good with a nice variety. I'm on a new diet with food sensitivities eliminations so could not eat eggs. The buffet had fresh fruit and biscuits and gravy which I could eat but did not have the corned beef hash so I ordered off the menu. But the buffet was a great price if you want to eat that much food. Service was a tad slow from ordering to getting our food but when food is good a little wait can be over looked. My husband ordered 2 pancakes and 2 sausage patties. He made me taste a sausage Pattie so I could judge how good they were and I trusted him on how good his pancakes were. I have ordered biscuits and gravy down South a lot because that is what they do but I have had a lot of flavorless biscuits and gravy. These biscuits and gravy had flavor! They were awesome and the corned beef was delicious too. I took 1/2 of my meal home so I got to finish it off for dinner. Wait staff was friendly and efficient, cleaning empty plates off the table as they became empty, refilling coffee and asking how the food was. I would definitely go back here to eat even though my food sensitivities don't allow me much I can eat.

No kidding, don't let the gas station vibes throw you, this place has great eats. We walked in through the gas station part of the building and were surprised to see the rustic decor of a medium sized dining area and an adjacent bar. It was a pretty full dining room and we sat ourselves. It didn't look promising as we saw one waitress and one bartender. However, after a brief wait, the waitress came to our table and assured us she would return as quickly as possible to get our drink and food orders. She returned as promised. Our drinks arrived a short time later. They were well made and attention was paid to get us another round as we finished the first. Our table had ribs, prime rib and a French dip sandwich. The portion size was great and the food arrived hot. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the sauce was tasty. The prime rib had great flavor, was prepared as ordered and had very little fat. The French dip was also tasty. Truth be told, a salad bar would make this a true five star rating. The salads served with the meal were nice but very run-of-the-mill. Will we go back in the future? You betcha!

We came for the fish boil and returned for breakfast!…read more You can't visit Door County without experiencing a unique and traditional Fish Boil! We loved hearing the history behind the fish boil and watching it come to life at the Old Post Office Restaurant! The dinner and experience was very reasonably priced at $30 per person and they offer options of fried chicken or ribs for those that don't care for fish. I'm (personally) not a big fish lover but I had to at least try it and it wasn't too bad! Dinner is also served with 3 different types of bread and a slice of delicious cherry pie! (Cherries are grown all over the peninsula). We sat outside on the front porch and watched the sun slowly set and the sky fill up with brilliant colors as we finished our dinner. I left with both my belly and heart as full as possible! We enjoyed the restaurant so much that I wanted to stop by on our way out of town, the last day, and try out their breakfast menu. I splurged and ordered the fresh cherry pancakes with a side of one egg and bacon. I planned to just eat half of my pancakes but I almost devoured them completely! My mouth is watering - several days later - as I am thinking about them and writing this review. I highly recommend the Old Post Office if you are in the area. Unfortunately you have to call the restaurant to make reservations but it's definitely worth the little bit of extra effort.

We pulled up to the restaurant on a Tuesday mid afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. Service was friendly and welcoming. I don't think I've been to a cleaner restaurant. Ever. The food... being from Texas we are bbq snobs. And this bbq did not disappoint especially considering its location up north. From the 5 sauces given to us which were labeled (loved this so we could remember which was which), the creamy mac and cheese to the perfectly seasoned pulled pork, everything was so good. The ribs were nicely sauced and perfectly tender. We split a 2 meat (pilled pork and 3 ribs) with 2 sides ( mac and cheese and chili (up-charge)). The portions were generous and well priced. Re-route your trip, and stop by the Curious Pig! You won't be disappointed.

The meat was good but it was just huge chunks, not shaved. I could not eat the sandwich or enjoy it. It all just fell apart. Disappointing. I wanted to say something but the owner did not seem overly friendly or wanted to bother talking to us. I will go back but just order a meat platter or ribs.
