I was so happy when I first got there. The people were nice and the transaction was easy. They were nice and the guy told me that he wanted a fantastic rating and I wanted to give one, but... First issue, they replaced the bumper on the back of my car, it's not been flush with the car. I pointed it out and the guy jimmied it back into place but it's still not where it should be. So there's a gap. Second issue, I had a hit and run and brought my car. I went to get my rental and they gave me minutes (less than 45 because my claim was denied. Meanwhile, they said nothing to me. 45 minutes? They had to have known. I don't know about the value because I didn't pay, my insurance did though. They seem nice but the shade, and the not quite so nice job on my car? I should have reported them! And told them that I was disappointed. read more

I am so glad I brought my car to G&C! They worked with my car insurance (usaa) so I thought to bring it here. As a girl i always have anxiety going to car places but everyone here was really nice! :) it was my first time dealing with all of this car stuff but they explained everything to me very clearly. They only took about 2 days to do the repair and when i picked up my car they had washed the inside and out as well as polished my headlights. I 100% recommend this place! I had my BMW 428i Gran Coupe repaired here. I was on Highway 580 east bound when pickup truck in front of me dropped its cargo, huge pieces of rolled up carpeting went flying up in the air, landing on my car. The damage to my front end and passenger side from the front to rear quarter panel was extensively damaged. G&C did a flawless job of repairing my car. I got a call from Yessie and was able to get a next day appointment for an estimate. They took a look and gave me me estimate and I left my car there to start work on the body while waiting for some parts. DeVaughn managed my car's work as well as kept me up to date via phone calls and texts. My car was ready when they said it would be. I am very please with the work and the paperwork that G&C and my insurers managed . I paid my deductible and drove off a very happy customer. G and C Auto Repair in Richmond did a wonderful job on restoring my Toyota to its pre-accident beauty. It looks great!! I had an unfortunate collision with a malfunctioning automatic gate at my condo complex which sheared the door handle off and messed up the entire right side. G and C not only did a great job on the car, they did a great job - really exceptional- taking care of me. Very responsive, they kept in touch through the process, made it easy for me to get my rental car and to return it, to deal with my insurance company. Smooth and easy. It's never fun to have an accident (grateful it wasn't worse!) or spend money on car repairs. But I can't think of a better place to do it, if you need it. No one likes to have to go to an auto body shop. My Volkswagen Passat was hit in a parking lot and had under $3000 with the damage. But it's my car and I like it to look OK. My daughter had taken her car to G and C after being refused by several other body shops, and they did an outstanding job. The best customer service I have received so far. Unfortunately, my rear side mirror was damaged and had to buy a new part from Toyota and the dealership was asking for $300 for installing the part. Luckily, I found G&C Auto body online, and spoke to Sean who was able to answer all my questions. He asked me to go the same day to assess my car and he was able to do the installation at that moment and they were done in half an hour- super quick! Sean was beyond helpful and efficient. The staff were all very helpful, informative and tentative to my needs as they reconstructed my car from the accident damage. They handled our 2015 Honda Accord Sport with expertise, precision and care. This was not my first time to this shop of talented individuals. Unfortunately, there were past incidents when I have brought my car there, but the Staff and G& C soon turned my frown upside down. I took my daughter's car here after an accident. When I picked up the repaired car, the exterior looked nice, albeit there were still tape pieces stuck to the paint all over the place as I realized when I first washed the car. When I drove her car I thought that the front end felt very 'loose' to the point of feeling unsafe. I didn't think much of it and assumed that's just due to the age of the car and still a result of the crash. I let her drive the car for 4 months, mostly freeway, before I took it to my regular shop for an oil change. While in there I commented on how loose everything feels and thought maybe the shocks are bad. When I picked up the car from my regular repair / maintenance shop I was shown videos of a completely loose control arm and other very loose suspension pieces, all on the front right side which was impacted by the crash. The shop spent a lot of time tightening everything down - no new shocks were needed. I can't believe G&C released the car like that as this could have caused another accident and endangered my daughter. Very poor workmanship and I won't come back here in the future. read more

Went in for a sensor on front bumper and was promised delivery and time that never happened as told. Joel was very nice in the beginning but then NEVER picked up my calls or messages to keep in the loop of what was happening. Then the tech that started my process no longer worked there so I got Max. Yes first I was upset with him not telling me what Joel had said but I have to say he was thrown in to the wolves and at the end he was awesome. David too was so great with his customer service on deescalating my anger when Joel was totally ignoring me to know if I was getting my car. My car was hit while parked and, of course, no note or info left with my car. My insurance company recommended G & C Auto Body. I had never heard of this business and wasn't sure I would go with them. However, when I went there for an appraisal, I was very impressed with the professional response to all my questions. I scheduled an appointment to leave my car and they did a fantastic job. They drove me home and picked me up when the work was complete. Dealing with G&C Auto Body was probably the most miserable auto body shop experience I have ever encountered in my life. I was rear ended on the highway and needed to have my car repaired after my car was involved in an accident. The other drivers insurance covered everything seeing that he was at fault. This was a partner auto Body shop to USAA insurance, as well as enterprise car rental. My car was in the shop for 2 weeks getting repairs. Upon arrive to pick up my car I noticed a bad smell in my car driving home from the shop. The following day I drove to work. Once I got home I looked behind the drivers side seat and noticed a can of dog food infested with hundreds of maggots crawling out of the can. I realize that it was my fault for leaving the can of food in the car, but why would they not call me and bring this to my attention? I just don't understand how you can just not think to mention the fact that someone's car smells like death to them before they pick their car up. It just seems pretty standard and common sense if a business wanted to have a customer be happy with their repair job. Once I brought it to the shops attention they immediately claimed that they had no idea what I was talking about .... that they did smell a bad smell but nobody saw the maggot infestation. Which is complete BS because between Kelly the MAnager, DeVaugn the sales rep. And Cesar one of the repair guys, they could not keep their stories straight. Long story short. They did nothing to help me did this maggot issue that was in my car. Could not help me whatsoever and Denied any negligence to how they handled this issue. This place is the worst. Enterprise sucks so bad too. I waited 3 hours to pick up my rental var at the hilltop location. Everything is was just miserable. read more

My front bumper was hit and my insurance let me pick the closest auto body in my area, and G&C was it. I was helped my the older gentleman who spoke Spanish, I don't remember his name, but it was nice to have someone help me in both languages (I get my Spanish and English mixed up alot.) They went above and beyond my expectations, and even fixed an unrelated dent the car had out the kindness of their hardworking hearts! I would 10000% recommended. read more

BEWARE! DON'T GO OVER THERE. This is the worst body shop that I ever know, first at all, I did choose this one cause the insurance company told me that If I get one of my preference I gonna have an extra charge besides of the deductible, I do regret it. The person ( a woman whom answered my call) make an estimate just looking pics of my car and put me on waiting list for two months, her arguments were that we are busy and we got to wait for the parts, we'll do order now and call you back, they didn't call, I did it, from there it got worse , a guy named David who is in charge has not idea of my car there, he said couple days to finishing but there aren't any parts, after two days I got a text that they need order parts for my car and its going to take around five days and this text came after the shop closed so I can't call back to find out what's going on, until now only inexperience, unorganized, unprofessional people, they told lies and careless service there. I never write yelp reviews, but dear god was my experience with G&C Richmond TERRIBLE. Do yourself a favor and take your car somewhere else! They told me my car would take 1 week...it took 4 weeks. They would continue to miss deadlines on when the car would be ready, and they never called to update me. I would call the day after the car was to be ready, and they'd be like "oh the car isn't ready. we need 2 more days". This continued to happen until 4 weeks passed. That's a $2000 car rental! The front desk staff doesn't pass on your call. The manager Joel is shady AF. He will say anything to pacify you and seem chummy, but he doesn't deliver on anything he says. For example, he said my car would be delivered on a Friday before a 3 day holiday weekend, to then NOT deliver the car and be completely unreachable. I depend on my car for work, they have 0 care in the world about their customers. They finally gave me my car back and GUESS WHAT, the windshield wipers don't work. Did they even check their handy work? Going to G&C is very expensive, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more
