I'm glad I had both help from receptionist (horrible w/ names so please forgive me) and estimator, JR to help me with the process! I love their attitude and communication skills. A couple of weeks ago, when I went to get into my shiny, light-blue blue Civic and saw that both driver's side doors had been keyed (long scratch from front to rear), my heart just sank--it was like my sweet new (for me) ride had been violated. After realizing I couldn't deal with it myself, I called AAA and made a date with the body shop in San Pablo that they recommend. I was more than a little wary, as AAA had sent us to a shop in Berkeley 15 years ago for a paint job that began peeling after just one year. But I liked that this was a family business--father and son--and somehow I found a reference on line that was very positive, like "if your car needs body work, this is the place." The shop was easy to find, a 5-minute drive from the San Pablo Dam Rd. exit off I-80, and I was immediately impressed with how clean it was. AAA had already sent over the paperwork, and owners Sam and son JR were both friendly and professional. As we were checking out the damage, JR offered to repaint the dinged-up back bumper for just $100 more; clearly they wanted to make me a happy customer. I brought my car in on a Monday morning, and they called Hertz to come pick me up to get my rental. Friday afternoon I came back to pick up my car. The paint job was flawless. What's more, they polished the dash, put a little shine on the tires, even vacuumed the interior AND the trunk! I had to remind Sam to add the extra $100 to the deductible, which AAA requires you pay to the shop. So if you're feeling totally bent out of shape because you've been in an accident, or got a bad scratch or dent, remember: this is why you have insurance. This shop will make you feel better and make your car look good as new. read more

About a month ago, AAA asked my sister to take her 2008 Acura TL Type S to this shop after she was hit. The rear bumper and rear side were damaged. The body looked good as new after it was repaired however the rear seat was now ripped in three different areas! The seat was removed when the car was repaired (we saw this when we went to pick something up from the car). The owner says he will check with the technician to determine whether he was responsible for the damage. Of course, the technician denies doing this! Luckily, we had photos of the rear seat prior to dropping it off and we trust the owners would take care of this. We e-mail these photos over and the response we get "It's obvious that we did not damage the rear seat." WHAT? Are you joking me? Instead of going down there and being confrontational we filed another insurance claim... read more

If I can give them more than 5 stars, I would. It was an unfortunate event that brought me here but I'm happy that I did given the situation. I was referred by AAA to get my bumper fixed and JR & the staff were all such a pleasure to work with. Everyone was extremely nice and friendly. They made sure to keep me updated with the status of the car. The repair was finished in a timely manner and it looks good as new. They even cleaned and detailed the interior which I thought was a wonderful touch and much appreciated. The service and my overall experience was amazing. My truck needed a front bumper small paint job all going through AAA they literally got me situated in less than a day and by a week my truck was fixed and they even went a little over and fixed other little things on the way! I will give the guy who helped (or rather didn't help) the benefit of the doubt and maybe he may have had a bad day but his customer service was horrible. I recently went to ask if they were able to do a bumpsteer adjustment and the guy said you usually do that if you change your suspension. cool, so I said yeah my front suspension has been changed and needed a bumpsteer kit installed per the parts manufacturer's recommendations. The guy then went on to tell me you never get them right on old cars and looked at me like I was stupid while he proceed to ask "do you even know what Bump steer is?" I explained to him what I understood it to be and he stated, "oh, ok, yeah most guys that ask about bump steer don't even know what that is?" All I wanted to to know was if they did the adjusting to bump steer but rather get the beat around the bush and get insulted until finally he says "we don't like to work on projects" Couldn't he have said that from the start? I guess not. I hope others have a more pleasant experience thank me but i'm through with BAF. read more

This automobile shop is a gem! The owner and customer service from the staff is AMAZING! My scion Tc got rear ended and had to get my bumper fixed. The guys did an amazing job. Bay Area Frame (BAF) is awesome ! I had a problem with my Toyota, that the Toyota dealer has been unable to diagnose / fix, even with their "top technicians" trying to figure it out. They could have just let me walk away, but instead they made a life long customer. I normally do not write negative reviews or positive ones for that fact because I feel anyone can have a bad day any day even if it is extreme to the good. But, this situation and business deserves a great review for customer satisfaction and service. The laws of nature work against us most of the time. It did for me today, but then something unexpected happened. And, this is the case today, when they made a customer out of me and retained me instead of allowing me to return to the endless churning-like washing machine between customers and businesses. In short, I was told on the phone that I could come to an open slot 'immediately' if I get my car there in 20 minutes. I did that. But, the guy who received my call did not let anyone know I arrived. I sat waiting for someone to help me, but after 15 minutes in their parking lot, I noticed another customer slithered in and inadvertently stole my slot. To his defense he did not know. But, really he did know after I explained our situation to the serviceman taking appointments. He just stood there listening. Anyways, he got serviced first! I don't fault that other customer, but I do not appreciate him knowing the situation and not stepping in and allowing the customary first-come first-serve rule take precedence in a social dispute such as this. Everyone is in a hurry it seems these days. At this point, I felt forgotten. I told the serviceman technician I wan to to speak to that guy who I spoke with on the phone. I walked into their executive office. Let's face it. He dropped the ball and he knew it when I confronted him. But, then, something special happened when I was explaining to him how I felt. A lady, who was also in the office, stepped in and had all the right words. It was like a mom. She sympathized with my situation. It really wasn't fair at all and she understood. She accomodated his error with a lowering their already fair price for the service. She invited me to their brewed coffee or beverage and was showed very hospitably to their waiting room. There wasn't anything to argue anymore. I was sold, defused and felt respected. Now, I am waiting for an hour before my car is seen and I have spent 75 minutes there without service. The serviceman mechanic nicely pulls my car in for service. The service man helps me, speaks to me and shows me areas which need the work. I promised to have the work done and return with a clean bill for the certification I needed. He didn't have to tutor me anything. This place is the right place for your brake, light or auto mechanic business. They are affordable(low labor rates), friendly and cordial. And, most of all, I know they care about people and appreciate allowing people to leave with the top tier sense of customer satisfaction. I highly recommend this shop because of excellent customer service and it has that mom and pop feel for a business. Rare these days, but allow this testimonial be proof in itself, because I do not write any review usually worth writing for. This one, yes. I submit and give credit when it is above and beyond. 5 stars today! As for my part? Returning good for good? I found out about this place through AAA-- my first experience with them was when I stupidly hit a pole trying to back out of a driveway and ruined the front left light of my car. They repaired it good as new, and were extremely courteous. Jr took the time to show me where they'd be working on the car, and called with updates. Just months later, I came back to my parked car to find the left rear view mirror dangling from a wire-- no note, nothing. Fortunately, it was still attached and nothing had broken. After driving around with it taped with the strongest tape I could find, I brought it by and they glued it right back on-- as a courtesy! Very friendly, good service, great results. This family run business is GREAT! I hit a raccoon driving home for spring break which did considerable damage to my car. I told them I needed the car fixed in five days because I had to drive back to Washington to get back to school in time, and they rushed it and got it done in four.
