5 Stars - Excellent work and wonderful people! I brought my conversion van in for a windshield and to have a panel installed that I already had. They did an excellent job. The panel looks brand new! Alex, the owner, is such a nice guy. Very honest, very humble, and fair. His wife Vanessa works in the office and she is so sweet, humble and honest as well. They don't try to overcharge you and they do quality work. I highly recommend TK Auto Body & Repair. read more

I had a great experience at TK Auto Body. Alex and Vanessa very professional and friendly. Thank you.

The service I had with this company is excellent. They did what they said they would do. One company wanted me to leave the car for 2 weeks. They ordered the bumper, painted it and received it immediately. If you want to save money and get excellent service, don't bother looking elsewhere. Ask for Vanessa and Alex. It will be the best call you can make about your car. Sonja Farar read more

So far AWESOME!! I'm new to the area, so being in an accident was scary & I didn't know what to do. Thank heavens AAA was able to pull my car from ditch and I'm grateful for the driver working so hard in the rain. I'm very lucky he towed me to TK AUTO - I felt immediately relieved! I'm sure Vanessa could sense I was shaken up. She helped me when I had trouble trying to contact my insurance then went above & beyond dealing with a rental car. Vanessa was truly an ANGEL to me that day and I'm sure she will be for others in need of her expertise. So far from my experience, thank you to AAA for taking me here, thank you Vanessa for help, compassion, & professionalism. Thank you Hertz car rental!!! Another easy, convenient element of my otherwise horrible day. I ended up smiling & happy despite accident. read more

We were totally impressed with Alex's honesty and service at TK Auto Body and Repair. There are many auto body and repair services on San Pablo Ave. but don't look any further. They are the best. read more

Herbert is my hero. He took a ride in my car, told me about other similar customers who have come in with the same issue, told me which sounds are weird or concerning and which sounds are normal, which I greatly appreciated, and gave me a great lunch recommendation down the street while I waited for him to take care of my car. During the entire interaction, a very clear picture of Herbert's values came into focus: he is where customers come when they feel like the dealership or another mechanic isn't being totally honest or if they are overcharging. If Herbert doesn't have the tools, he'll refer you to a specialist or the dealer and I could tell that he's very hesitant to invite you to get service or work done that's not in your best interest. He speaks at LEAST three languages and is a trusted ambassador of different communities in town. I felt more and more at ease as he told me about what he recommended. Later, after the work was done, he gave me a somewhat deservedly stern warning about how I hadn't changed my oil in a long time , and we went under the lift together so he could point out everything that he and the team worked on. He gave me a brief schedule of when he recommends next services and told me what he could do vs. what other places would be more equipped for. Finally, I went into his office to pay my invoice and it was a laughably small amount. Like 1/3rd of what I was expecting and what I remember paying for elsewhere for the same services a couple years ago. As long as I am in the East bay, I will trust nobody else with my vehicle. Thank you Herbert and team! read more

David has been working on my family members cars for decades and has always done right by them. I came down to TKs for some serious work on my 18 Camry, with front end damage that insurance couldn't cover. Herbert went above and beyond my expectations. He was accommodating, extremely communicative, and brought my car back to incredible condition. He and the crew at TK Auto know what they are doing. They worked with me to find all the best options and to make this project doable. They replaced 2 fenders, bumper, headlamps, and repaired my undercarriage. They made sure to ask me about options and were able to save parts (which saved me money). They also did amazing work sanding out dents on my hood so that I didn't have to replace the whole part, and matched the complex color of my car beautifully. They got the job done quickly too! Highly recommended. Trustworthy and high quality professional work! read more

Both Alex and Venessa were so helpful in fixing my vehicle after it was hit by a car. It was the first time I took my vehicle to them. They lived up to the billing my friend gave them. They were affordable, efficient and had a reassuring manner. I would give them an A plus. read more

Very satisfied with the service on the front bumper on my car. TK Auto Body saved me money by REPAIRING the front bumper on my car rather than REPLACING it which would have cost me more money. Great communications as well by Herbert. read more

Did a great job on my car! Will be coming back for next services! The owner is very helpful!

I selected TK Auto Body for a minor accident repair over State Farm's affiliated associate since I needed a small additional dent repaired (outside the accident claim) for which State Farm's Affiliated body shop was going to charge $1000 vs TK Auto Body estimate of $200. (The estimate of the accident claim was also twice as much). The communication with Herbert was excellent. He kept me informed throughout the entire process. read more

Had a problem with our car headlights. We called a lot of auto mechanic shops but no one could do the job til the following week. Our friends recommended TK! They had been taking their Corolla car there for 20+ years. TK auto body shop owner was able to fix the problem the same day! I would recommend this shop. I found his rates to be fair. read more

Owner is super friendly, funny and talkative. He has excellent knowledge in every single matter, and if you don't understand anything, he explains everything in details. And his team did amazing job too, very nice staff. I recommended all of my friends and family members to go here to do oil change, car fixing and check up. Excellent Autobody shop. read more

Bert is the best. Honest and fair priced auto body shop. Only place I will ever take my car.

My wife and I have come to TK Auto Body for both routine maintenance and more critical service and parts replacements, including brakes on very different cars. All service was conducted quickly, using quality parts, at very reasonable prices. What we appreciate most is Herbert's forthright communication throughout the process, from assessment of needs, to keeping us informed about parts availability and the progress of work, and going over all the work following completion. It's a great feeling for a car owner to know that you can trust someone to take the best care of your car with utmost integrity. We have not found anything that Herbert and his crew aren't capable of doing, and can give our highest recommendation to TK Auto Body without hesitation. *Note* I gather that the negative reviews dating from 2017 and earlier describe the operation under different ownership. For instance, one mentions a "language barrier," whereas the current owner, Herbert, speaks flawless English. read more

Herbert was very friendly and courteous when assessing my car repair and giving me a fair estimate. I really appreciate that the service was done promptly: dropped the car in the morning... afternoon it was ready! T&K Auo Body And Mechanical Repair is one of the finest businesses I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. My wife, my son, my father, my friends and my neighbors, all mutually agree, that Herber, the owner operator, is not only tremendously cordial ... He and his staff are highly competent at producing like new results in auto body and mechanical repairs. I've returned time and time again for repair work with the greatest of pleasure and results I cannot recommend T&K auto body any higher, if I could then I would give them !6-STARS******! read more

So basically I got a quote from a nearby auto place for a minor car repair and was bummed out by the 4 figure price tag. I came to TK and was told the same work would be done for less than $200. Quality of work is still definitely 10/10 so your not getting cheap service at all. Customer service 11/10. I told the owner I had errands to run, but I was willing to wait. He had time for me the day I got an estimate. He personally picked up the parts because of manufacturer delays and had it done 3 hours before ETA. As you can imagine I was extremely delighted. This is the type of place I would recommend to go to because I feel it's ran by honest gentleman who aren't just about a buck. I don't know much about cars but I know when someone is just trying to get paid, and they were definitely not that type. I don't usually write reviews but I thought it would be insightful. Highly recommend. read more

Came to T.K body shop. I had a side mirror that needed replaced. He said he would Check on prices. He even checked pick n pull as an option . You can tell he wants to offer the best cost effective solutions for customers . I fully recommend this business read more

Wanted to take my girlfriends mustang to get the leak inside the cabin passenger side fixed, they totally refused us and said the owner was busy. I asked if we could come in a different time or book an appointment. They're answer was "no sorry" Wtf does that mean? I don't even live in El Cerrito, but I drove all the way out there to get my brakes worked on, because the reviews were so good. I called two different places near me and was quoted $300 or more per break. I could tell from the start that Herbert was an honest man. He ordered my parts ahead of time, so they'd be ready to install when I arrived. He took the time to show me what brake pads look like and showed samples of the different stages of wear and tear. My front brakes still have some life left in them, so he didn't swindle me or lie about the work that needed to be done. His pricing was much lower, and my car was done by the afternoon. I will be taking my car there from this time forward. A real class act read more

Next day appt . My 2006 Toyota for runner alternator broke down and it wasn't charging the battery no more, I went to several other places on the same street who refused to install the part that I provided, came to TK auto body and explain to them the situation and told them that I must change the alternator because the battery no more charges, he immediately gave me a really good price and booked me for the following day everything was so Smooth and professional price were really reasonable, I definitely will use their services and recommended to everyone in El Cerrito Albani it is a small family business owned read more

Have been getting my SUV here and faced no problem either with their services or labor charges. David is the co-owner and Bert who visits on weekends is the best man for your job ! Worth the trust and value vs the rest who charge you for their fancy garage with no skill sets read more

Man David and his wife are one of the nicest auto repair shop owners I've met! I had to have my car towed here and the tow truck took forever to arrive! (You know what I mean if you've ever had "one of those" experiences with AAA.). Anyway, by the time I got it towed it was already almost 4:30pm and they close at 5pm! I was sure I was in for a carless weekend. But David confirmed a bad starter and assured me it was a very fast fix and that they could do it that evening! And sure enough, at 630pm they called me up and said I could pick up my car! Friendly, honest, fast and reasonable prices! From now on I think I'll take my car here for any future fixes! read more

I was referred by my friend who has been a long time customer to this service shop when I had 2 relatively deep scratch on my 2010 sedan which was pretty new. I got quotes from numerous competitors and David (the owner) came back with the lowest price and earliest completion date. I knew David would do a great job given this was a reference from one of my best friends, but after the vehicle was returned to me I couldn't believe it. It was almost miraculous. Absolutely the BEST in the city, and anybody who needs cheap, quick yet cooperative service TK Auto is THE place to be. They are located on San Pablo road in El Cerrito so a bit far from someone like myself who is in the SF city area, but definiately worth it. My biggest praised to David and TK Auto Body! read more

This place used to be a great value and quality work but after the new owner change, it has gone down hill. I like to support local businesses but this place is robbing their customers. I had many cars worked on here and recently had a van lid repaired. It was clearly repairable but they wanted to order new parts so I did. When we came to pick up van we asked to see old trunk lid, which is they couldn't show meaning they just repaired old part. Paint match was off and rear window was installed with a huge gap on one side. Came back to them and they would not fix it. Came back to get some help to fix it and they wanted to charge me for their few minutes of talking time. Bad business behavior! read more

I took my 1998 Subaru Forester there because I was having problems with my power steering and the owner told not to fix it and to drive it as is. What a load of crap. I was referred to this shop by my friend. I've since sold my Forester since it would have failed smog because the check engine light was on and it had 200,000 plus miles on it. I didn't want to invest any more money into it. Also I took my 2000 Toyota Camry there because I had broke one of the mounting and scuffed up the passenger mirror. I wanted it replaced but the owner told me it would be $ 100 just to replace it and said to use it as is. He said just save your money I'm going to install the side view mirror my self and save money. I would not recommend not taking your cars to this shop. It's time for me to find another mechanic and or do some the easy fixes myself. read more

David, the owner, gave me an estimate of $180 to repair the bumper on my minivan, whereas elsewhere I had been told I needed to replace it for $1212. He said it would cost $180 and take 2 hours. He made good on his word, and the work looks complete. I very happy with this honest auto body shop and will come back if the need arises. read more

David is both a skilled and trustworthy mechanic, quite a find.

not honest. I replaced my transmission oil there once. The oil is still as dirty as before. They trick they use is that they told you the replacement take 2 hours and ask you to come back in 2 hours. You do no know how much oil is replaced. Stay away from that couple. Not honest at all! read more
