Not only did a technician jump up to start my car in under 2 minutes, but the staff refused payment, and nobody made me feel like a fool. I will be sure to use G&C again! The customer service of G & C Auto Body in Berkeley is EXTRAORDINARY!!! I am COMPLETELY blown away. Everyone here is super nice, but I need to give the most credit to their employee "Christian", who went ABOVE AND BEYOND my wildest dreams of how well I could be treated by an auto body shop. My car had been damaged because I was rear ended on the freeway, and the driver who hit me had State Farm insurance who paid for my car's repair. I looked at the various auto body repair shops that State Farm used, and G & C in Berkeley clearly looked like the best of them, so I went with G & C. Good decision!! G & C's work on my car ended up being fantastic, but get this: they also partner with Enterprise and Hertz rental car companies (which State Farm was also willing to pay for my rental car while my car was being repaired). When I dropped off my car at G & C to be repaired, Enterprise dropped off my rental car at G & C, so it was effortless to get my rental. When G & C's repair was finished, Christian (who was their employee who worked with me the whole time) called me, and informed me I needed to return my rental that day or the next day or I would be charged for the extra days for the rental. I couldn't leave my house that day but could potentially make it to G & C the next morning, but Christian told me on the phone that he would be happy to drive my car to my home that same day (which is like a 20 minute drive) and he would then take my rental car back to the shop, and Enterprise would then pick up the rental from the shop the following day, so I wouldn't be charged anything. I was completely blown away that Christian would be so generous offering to do that. He did, and I was so happy. I really had an absolutely amazing experience with G & C. I am a very safe driver, so I do not anticipate getting into an accident that is my fault, but obviously I don't know if I will get hit by anyone. If I do, I am GUARANTEED to use G & C in Berkeley in the future. My mind really has been blown by how good their customer service is, and particularly by how good Christian treated me. I would actually say this is probably the best customer service of any business I have ever experienced in my whole life. read more

I got into a fender bender and needed some work done on my bumper. The staff at G&C were amazing and worked hard to make sure that I had a positive experience and that my car was repaired quickly and efficiently! I want to give a special shoutout to Jeff who was the staff person I worked directly with. Jeff constantly kept me in the loop around the repairs happening with my car and clearly communicated when my car would be ready for pick up. Horrible repair experience and customer service experience. the shop improperly documents inflating information on invoices to be able to get more money out of the insurance companies, and when the insurance companies don't pay the inflated itemized bill, they come after the customer and threatens them with collection agencies etc. real ruthless, and AAA is in cahoots, to the ill practices. the more money the adjuster saves the company the better they look. so they go hand n hand. be careful dealing with G&C auto body in berkeley in combination with triple AAA and teslas they don't have that process down pact yet and they are money hungry unapologetically. shaun comes off as a nice guy but when it comes to the nitty gritty he is very dismissive and unhelpful. all the front desk ppl are nice though. :) But how they conduct business, is not. not to mention my car is still not fixed all the way, they claimed to have checked the repairs, but as soon as i drive off and head home my car is still having signs that everything that needed to be repaired has not been, so it seems they may cut corners as well. i don't wish these problems on anyone, this process has completely turned me off from G&C and Triple AAA. think twice about having them run your repairs. i get nothing from leaving this feedback so take it as serious as i am writing this. read more

let's start saying the g and c auto body berkeley @ 1239 fifth st, berkeley, ca 94710 is the worst miserable nightmare i ever had dealing with a business--i went there because was recommended by geico as their express places that guarantee repairs ( believe express service ) -miserable front desk individuals very rude and one lady call herself geico adjuster so rude ( i have geico insurance )) all lies she is not an adjuster works for g and c not a geico adjuster -so i went on my appointment date she and other rude people took photos for my car damages to charge geico surprised no or few new parts --mainly useless labor fee-from junk yard parts --that already were broken - i noticed when i picked up my car plus very dirty -oil all over my trunk after presumably per them was fixed -- no to forget "" the very rude g and c auto body claim by lie an adjuster canceled my appointment after photos she took and rescheduled almost one month later --- not tell me she cancel --just canceled made new appointment --like i was not there to start with for their business --i have to drive with broken unsafe car for 4 weeks --for next appointment since she said--if you cancel your new appointment and take it somewhere else i charge you for parts--she told me all next day-- next day i said i want to cancel out go other place the female adjuster said no--you have to pay for part ordered- a day before-- they also said-- no emails for us ,and found out yes they do have emails- i guess for legality wanted text-only -they collected upfront $1000.00 deductible even though geico said at the end--i called the rude women g and c can i cancel repairs there she said" you can but you have to pay' for part ordered' so waited 4 more weeks--surprise they had my car in 5 days with all rack parts- dirty- oil all over my car and they did damages other area of my car -plus on the area they fixed also used broken junk yard parts --they said ""damages happen after you got your car "" all lie"" --the muffler was all broken after my accident they straighten it out not replaced it charge geico i guess 2 times --was unsafe to drive-after picked up the car 1st time-geico has to pay another $700.00 total they charged almost $9000.00or close to that figure--i know 3 other people who ran into same issues with their tesla--nightmare there--stay away --last they broke my car key because they charge the insurance for replacement of trunk lock that was broken instead used my poor key with junkyard broken lock to work with broken new lock they put --surprise they use my key and whatever dirty trick they did temporary fixed the lock --i got stock in middle of night 2 days later and called tow truck company to tow my cat to my house and got new key from the dealer paid $70.00 (one dealer one other locksmith place because they broke my key and starter was not working with the key that they broke the one i gave them -- they tried to put used bad fake lock and broke my key try make my key work with junkyard lock or stolen lock from somewhere --my trunk lock still very bad never was order from dealer --but said they did another lie may be a junkyard bad lock they ordered and used my key so rough and broke my key with bad lock i am stock with bad lock they put all ols racked you name it --nightmare for over 6 weeks -- for simple fix plus they charged geico $9000.00 gave me half broken with full of new scratches in their garage --very disappointed sad angry./stay away from g and c berkeley --like many other car victim owners--there is like nightmare read more

Sean is great! He helped us quickly and has great customer service skills. However, the front desk secretary Itzel is very rude. She snaps at you, has little to no patience and overall has a bad attitude. If you hate your job just quit! No need to be rude to a customer. Do NOT take your car here for anything. Was a great place when it had a different name and owners but now the customer service is lacking any service.... Came in for a minor bump and the original estimate was one week at max... turned into THREE weeks, kept saying "tomorrow for sure," and when I came to pick it up my doors alignment looked off... instead of trying to fix it they got defensive... yikes this place is my insurance referral list? They use street parking to store vehicles overnight. Completely unsecured in an area with lots of vehicle break-ins. It is Illegal and unprofessional. Just drive past their shop after hours and you will see about 10 cars parked on the street outside waiting to be worked on. read more

Horrible auto body repair shop. I brought my car in to replace my bumper and fog lights after hitting a piece of gravel that came off the back is a truck. Repairs took over 2 weeks and the shade from the pain job as off. I can tell that G&C made no efforts to get the right shade as the car was returned unwashed with all the dirt and grime from when I brought it in. Save your time and money. I brought my 2021 car there for repair of minor scrapes on the side panel side mirror and door and was told it would take 4 days to complete the job. It ended up taking 10 days--which they blamed on their parts supplier, sensor calibrator and everything other than the dog ate their homework. They were not responsive to phone calls; often leaving me on hold for long periods and seldom reached out to let me know what was going on. All in all a very irritating and unpleasant experience. read more

Had a minor rear end collision on my truck. Just needed it checked out and the damaged bike rack extracted and replaced. AAA recommended G&C Auto Body. 7 weeks in and they still don't have the parts despite numerous phone calls. At one point they called me to ask me why I hadn't brought it in at the same time as I was waiting for them to get the parts - "oh, yeah, that's why". I would give it no stars if I could. Do NOT take your car here, especially if you are looking to replace your catalytic converter. David at GNC is incredibly unprofessional and their work is beyond subpar. We took our car there, as it was recommended through our insurance to replace our catalytic converter. They put the wrong one on to which they continued to claim "It looks like there might have been a mistake" - there clearly was a mistake. Very little remorse on their end, blaming the muffler shop which may be true but as a business that outsources their work, whatever job is done somewhere else is still your responsibility to follow through with. Their only solution provided was more work on my end to take my car to different places to get certified and basically I will now have to clean up the mess they created. At one point, David threatened to write our car off as totaled and be done with it. They don't care about your vehicle. They are looking to take as much money as they can from you and the insurance companies and do as little and poor work as they can. Lastly, of course at this point, we were very upset with the lack of professionalism and accountability on GNC's end and due to some questioning and pushing back David decided to hang up the call - talk about being unprofessional. read more
