I was invited by my nephews to join them and their friends for a paintball outing at Futureball. We had gotten a special rate for the day courtesy of the owners and it was a great time! The park has it's own store off premises about a 1/4 mile away right on M-36/9 mile...I haven't been there but I have played at Futureball many many times before when I was quicker on my feet and more limber. The park hasn't changed too much except for maybe the field names. We played 3 duplicate rounds on 3 fields. First the Lego field which has barriers set up everywhere including plastic structures, spindles and drainage tubes for cover. The next field was the Urban attack and defend and lastly Hamburger Hill. It was a blast. The Hill and Urban are by far my favorites courses. The referees were great and the equipment counter staffers were helpful too. The park has three pavilions with picnic tables set up and they have some water jugs set up to wash masks, hands, drinking, etc. I've played a few parks and this is one of the better I've been to. It's definitely worth checking out for a round and if you haven't been before it would be a great idea for a bachelor party or a day out with the guys. FYI if you rent equipment get the upgraded gun package and the paint pod belts. Rentals are fairly cheap and their paint is fairly priced. Another note, if you're playing in the summer make sure you bring plenty of bug spray! A lot of the courses are surrounded by swamp and being eaten alive under fire is a huge drag. read more

First time going down and i was with a group. After the first game, i came back to the staging area to find someone stole my ammo. It wasnt plain ammo, it was specialty ammo. They tried to keep me happy by giving me there field ammo, which was garbage and 3 free passes . The field was pretty good, but there refs need to watch the game better. I seen alot of cheating andbthe refs were informed and did nothing. The owner of the field allowed people to talk and not pay attention to the safety brief which showed me that the brief was just a legal requirement, and he didnt care if people were listening or not. Over all experience was about a 3 out of 10. Dont plan on ever going back. read more

To start it off, just STICK to Hell Survivors or Lone Wolf. Unorganized with games and takes forever for one to start. They don't chronograph heavy like ALL other fields I've been too. Both cases of paint I purchased were absolute junk, nipples on at least 50% of the balls fresh out the box. Doesn't feel friendly at all, big ego hang out! Don't waste your money folks. I've been coming to futureball for probably 5 or 6 years, and Iv had a lot of good and bad experiences. I mainly play there because it's the only outdoor place less than an hour away. If they really cared, this place could be really fun. The fields: Over the years they haven't changed much, but this year they added a new field with a lot of shipping containers that's pretty cool. The bunkers are covered in paint that's probably years old and smells terrible. They don't move anything around each month let alone each year. If they kept up on the field maintenance it would be more enjoyable. The staff: The first few years playing the staff was older guys and they were really cool and strict at the same time, which is what you want. But now they have mostly high school kids that are all friends with the kids that play, and they don't care about the rules as much as they should. No organization. Safety: They are good at keeping masks on people. They almost never chrono everybody, and people that walk in late never get chronoed. One time a kid brought a taser and was showing it off and got banned for life. I heard rumors of a kid that brought a BB gun one time too. The other day I saw a kid pointing his pistol at his head in the safezone, and the ref was laughing because he was his buddy. Some of the structures seem a little unsafe and old. My friend rolled his ankle one time on a field because the grass was so high and there were holes. Store: Has a lot to choose from but you never know if it's going to be good or not. Definitely don't pay them to fix your guns. They will tell you it's $100 and then end up not even fixing it right, or missing parts. read more

Lame! Very unorganized. Most of the people working are smoking and more worried about that then your gun working. It's $30 to ride another $10 for more ammo (you will need it) you are supposed to shoot zombies on the whole 20 min ride that I think only took 10 I saw 4 zombies the rest are cardboard cut outs. So lame. The donuts are $2 each! Cider is $2 for 8oz. Are you joking!! So a family of 4 will cost. $160 so not worth it. Blake's in armada is way nicer. Awesome field, great staff, friendly players, and all around a great experience. I'd recommend it for anyone who loves airsoft!

Futureball is a great place with good employees and fun maps to play on. The best time to go is definitely on Sunday when there are a lot of players there. They have great pricing and have done a great job adding products to their pro shop and now have a good balance of airsoft and paintball stuff to look at. read more

This is an excellent place for paintball or airsoft. Staff actually play these games when they are not working so they understand what makes it fun and interesting. The fields for the different skirmishes are excellent, different and fun. So me and a group doc friends came here looking for another Airsoft field to play on, the website talked it up quite a bit and so did the reviews, I had no problem driving the hour and half to go. We get there and the guy behind the counter starts freaking out because we apparently showed up "late"? Well excuse me but I'm paying you guys to play on your field, I'll show up when ever the hell I damn well please. We showed up at 10:20 which is 20 minuets past their open time. It doesn't say anything online about trying to arrive at 10 for orientation and I'm sure there was no appointment location. After he was saying that his friend realized we didn't have barrel covers, for safety reasons I understand, he was trying to get us to buy them while the other guy was yelling for us to go to the group to get the rules of play. Both were speaking at the same time and it was pretty irritating. After we finally got to play we got stuck on a team with 20+ 12 year olds, yes they were between 10-13 years old. They were no good, at first it was fine but after loosing 5 or so games me and my friends asked if it was possible to swap teams up some. Refs declined. So after basically loosing all of season one games. No team changes were made. They refs overall were okay but one of them in particular you could tell had his favorite regulars and he wouldn't call stuff out on them, in fact he called a "crack shot" on a friend of mine, when he was shooting through a pipe with at least a 10 inch diameter, which was all good with hel the rules were listed in the morning but since he was shooting the refs Regular, it was a crack shot, btw they explained crack shots as small holes you can only put a barrel in and blind fire. Second season starts and we are on a decent team, but since the refs regulars on the other team were loosing and asked to swap teams... After 2 games. Teams were redone, seriously? After we had asked countless times. At the end of the day I counted how many fields we played on, it was 5. 3 of wich were maybe 1.5 acres square. Small enough for me to shoot from side to side accurately. Where's the 14 fields with over 100 acres of play area? On top of that, the store they have, is about 1/2 mile from the fields... And wasn't even open, how can your business make money with a closed store during hours of operation? I want to say it was just a bad first time but I don't this so, the staff overall was rude and not welcoming. I've gone three times now and have had a great time however some of the referees were more focused on smoking and socializing than doing their job. Also the website is very misleading it said it was a $15 admission when it was actually $25. Lastly the man at the front desk was slightly rude at times but other than that they have great courses and it was very enjoyable. read more

I went to Futureball with a party of about 20. This was challenging, partially because getting 20 teenagers to commit is like herding cats, and the front desk never answered their phone. I called about 10 times throughout 3 days and not once did they answer my calls. My friend who helped me organize it did get an answer eventually, so he was able to reserve the day. This was especially challenging to organize because the website had very little details as well. When my friend went to reserve the day, he was expecting to pay around $150 for the group fee, when he was actually charged $340. We still aren't sure why the price was $190 extra, as it said nothing about additional fees for a party on the website. Reluctantly, we handed over the $340 and went about getting ready to play. I was planning on paying about $30 for those people who had everything they needed to play, based on what the website said. For those who needed everything to play (a mask, a gun), I expected to pay $50. In the end, those who had everything they thought they needed payed about $50 because they were required to buy biodegradable ammo from the rental desk at $10 per 2,000 pellets, and a barrel cover for $5 that was REQUIRED and nonrefundable. The people who ended up renting everything paid about $65, and their guns came with barrel covers and 2,000 rounds of ammo. The website did not prepare us for this expense, and the front desk never answered. Luckily, I told everyone to bring extra money just in case. The time slot was 3 hours, from 3 to 6. The rounds were about 10 minutes each, and then the teams switched sides for another 10 minutes. However, the intermissions were extremely long. The intermissions were about 25 minutes. This took a lot away from play time. Reloading only took about 5 minutes, so we were left for the next 20 to stand around talking about the round and looking at the rental desk. The refs were also not very enthusiastic. When I was hit on the first map, I stood out on the dead area, talking to my friends and laughing while watching the rest play on. The ref turned to us and said "dead people don't talk" as though we were giving directions to our team (which we were not). This was very annoying. In the end, I did have fun, but I felt as though we were being milked for our money the entire time, and it was unpleasant being in the company of the refs. In my opinion, your money would be better spent at Cedar Pointe (as it would probably cost less) or taking your airsoft guns out to a field in North Michigan. I will not be returning. read more

My friend and I went to Futureball paintball park on 7/22/2012 and we had a TERRIBLE TIME. Bought paint from their shop. Two cases of paint all BAD. It was warped and had flat spots.We opened 3 of the small bags of 4 in the one box. The other Case of paint was the same. We go over to tell their manager that this paint is no good. He claimed that it wasn't their paint even though we bought it from him 10 minutes before. He finally shut up and replaced the unopened case and the one unopened bag from the other case. He refused to replace or even refund the bags that we opened even though none of the balls were used ( or useable for that matter). Although we were upset, we didn't want to let this ruin our whole day so we decided to play anyway and have some fun. When we went to play, the ref refused to let us play on the same team. He split us up. We did want to play together - that is why we paid to come play afterall. So, before we actually get to go out and play the ref yells at my buddy about not having an arm band even though he never gave him an armband in the first place. So, he takes my buddies Gun Barrel cover and wraps it around his arm and says "This will do." ... Not practical at all - he would have to take the cover off his gun, put it on his arm, then off his arm, and back on his gun every game we play. Not to mention that everyone else has a yellow armband while his gun barrel cover is black. So, after that I decided I wanted to check the rest of our paint. The "new" bag he gave us had balls that were as hard as rubber. They bounced 10FT when thrown to the ground and would not break when pressured in hand. We were sitting next to this kid and his father and they said they just got done swapping out their paint before we got there and they gave them new cases. When I explained what happened to us, we realised that the shop most likely gave us the paint that these guys returned! They swapped out all of their paint but then refused to swap our most of ours and what they did swap out was the stuff that they already knew was bad? WTF! At this point, I was livid. The manager/owner's excuse for the faulty paint was that it was the vendor, Draxxus Paintball's, fault. He claimed that Draxxus Paintball shipped them a pallet of bad paint. I find this hard to believe. More likely, he has a pallet of paint that is a year old because they had a bad year and he needs to make a profit back on his old stock of crap! Needless to say they need to hire new management or start acting like a company and taking responsibility for their products. If you're looking to paintball in the area, I HIGHLY recommend you drive the extra 10 to 15 minutes to go to Hell Survivors. You will have a much better paintball experience there. read more

Very negative experience. Starts with only receiving an answer on the phone 2/10 times. Not very helpful when we did receive an answer, but not rude. When I registered my private party, they charged me an additional $10 per person, which I personally did not see advertised on the website anywhere. It was claimed to be a $10 deposit, however, if you brought your own gun with you, you didn't get your $10 back. The referees did their jobs, no complaints there. Very rude in the process of doing so, and on occasion rude when not enforcing any rules. Great to talk to 1 on 1 however. The intermissions were way too long, we spend 15-20 minutes between every match, spending an entire hour (1/3 of our time) waiting for the referees to start the next game. Warning: futureball makes you buy their biodegradable BBs, understandable, but with no exceptions. They charge a very hefty price, and in reality give you less BBs in the container than advertised. You are also required to have a barrel cover on every gun you have, make sure you bring your own; they charge $5 for one of theirs, which as far as the product goes, is very expensive. These are non-refundable, and not returnable. I did appreciate the variety of play fields available, however. I personally will never be returning. I can only speak for my experience, not for how yours may be. I do encourage you to share your experience, whether positive or negative, if you attend a session. read more
