Facility is nice, clean and has good options. But the thing that really upsets me is the staff here. Not friendly, not helpful if you have questions about something they rush you to get to the next person in line. Then if you want to play pool they asked to hold our car keys. Am I going to pick up the pool table and walk out with it? But when they lose my keys or phone, what are they going to do about it then? read more

This facility is only a few blocks from me, and I probably don't use it as often as I should. It's a bit pricy in comparison to a place like Planet Fitness, but on the other hand, there's a huge pool, so it's actually a lot cheaper than a place like LA fitness. There is a nice indoor track which I have used to train on in the summer time. You can have birthday parties here for kiddos. There is a Wade pool for little ones, a hot tub for adults. A water slide, a lazy river, an obstacle course, and a lap pool. There is also day care available if you need it, which is a great option!! The facility is always spotless, never had a problem at all there. Parking is plentiful and convenient. I wish they had sidewalks down 25 mile leading to the rec center, so that people who live close, could walk. This would free up traffic in an already congested area. Also, it would free up cardio equipment, as the walk or run there and back would be your warm up and cool down. I also wish they offered some amenities such as tanning beds and massage beds/chairs. It's a huge reason I drive much too far to Planet Fitness to work out, instead of going 2 blocks away. Stupid, I know. But I want to tan and get it over with. It's also considerably smaller than some of these other gyms so you are definitely waiting on equipment during high volume times. read more

When more kids are there, they need to make the pool bigger and drop the lines for laps.. There 2 lanes CLEARLY marked FOR ADULTS ONLY MAKING LAPS The other two lanes are open, assuming for kids etc.. So that's where we were with kids Well a guy who wanted to do laps asked 1 of the workers to kick us out of the NON ADULT lane. When I pointed out to the girl(worker) that the 2 other lanes marked FOR ADULTS ONLY is where he should be, she couldn't answer me. U would think she would make the guy who wanted to do laps, go into the ADULT open lap lane. Very disappointed in this for happening. When I am a paying guest!! It's suppose to be a fun place to take the family but guess not !! read more

Very clean, friendly staff, lots of activities to choose from here. There is vollyball, track, basketball, ping pong, weighs, weigh machines, pool for laps, lots of exercising machines, activity classes, boot camp courses, yogo..etc. If you live in the area and do not want to sign up for the yearly membership, daily passes are $5 bucks and you live outside the area it is $10. To sign up for the yearly pass and you live within the area its $25 a month, which is an awesome deal! That's only $300 a year for a membership. It looks like a Lifetime Fitness gym, but cleaner and a lot less people. read more

Our family is so thankful for this Rec Center! The pool area is clean, warm, and well staffed. The kids love the waterslides, zero depth kids pool, and the lazy river set up. There are great locker rooms and family cabanas available for use. Along with the fabulous pool area, there is a large fitness area with tons of equipment and running track. There are basketball courts, a game room, party rooms, muti-purpose rooms for meetings, and they have loads of classes for everyone, from babies to seniors. They also have community events like Halloween parties and tree lighting ceremonies. There is so much available and so many cool things for families to do together. Fabulous!!!! read more

I am so impressed with this place. Clean, friendly staff and a ton to do. I came today as a group of 3 moms and 7 kids. We used the cabana changing rooms which were very nice and clean. Made it very easy to get the kids ready for the pool. The kids had a blast in the water. A really great setup. Then we dried off and went to the play area, which was another great area. This is a very kid friendly place and I will surely be back. read more

I love the facility and belonged for several years, however I recently cancelled my membership. I asked about getting active duty military members, who's parents belong to the Rec center, be allowed to get a guest pass while they're home on leave. I was turned down flat, so I no longer belong. I was very disappointed in the townships decision to NOT assist our men and women in uniform stay in shape while on leave. read more

Like most people, I struggle to get to the gym. Macomb Recreation Center makes every visit worthwhile. The child watch is great and cheap ($4 for 2 kids for 2 hrs) and my children love it there. The pool is clean and well-manned. Love the zero depth pool, the slide, and the lazy river too. I really feel lucky to have all these amenities for only $40/month for the family (we're residents). The running track is also very nice, and I love how you're not circling around other people as they work out. read more

Y'all sleeping on this place because most of the gym members here probably lived through World War Two. But they are hella fit!!!!!! The equipments are really new and in great condition, big running track, very complete machines and dumbbells!!!!! So put down your pride and join the rec center. The equipment, pool, and cleanliness of this rec center can't be beat. In addition, it's super affordable for what $25/month gives you access to. My only complaint would be the hours aren't great, and I wish they'd stay open later, especially on weekends. read more

Charged $10 for admission, then proceeded to have a "shoot around only" sign on EVERY court. No one wants to just shoot around only, you can do that in your driveway. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more
