I am very disappointed with the customer service at the Warren Community Center in Warren, MI. I visited the center twice within the last two weeks to get information about swimming lesson registration for my children. Unfortunately, both times the experience was unpleasant. The employees at the front desk were rude, unhelpful, and unfriendly. Today, I waited for around 15 minutes while one employee kept looking at her computer and another was on the phone. Even when I finally asked for assistance, the response and attitude were not welcoming or professional. As a city community center that serves families and residents, I believe staff should be respectful, cooperative, and willing to help people with basic questions. Instead, I left feeling upset and disappointed by how we were treated. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving customer service for families visiting the center. read more

Since the pandemic, they no longer offer drop in's, you have to buy monthly ($25/month) or yearly ($249). The steam room and sauna are closed until further notice, and their new hrs are M-Sat: 8am - 2pm & M-F: 4pm - 8pm. They are no longer open early at 6 am, nor do they stay open all day, Saturday's they close at 2, and Sundays they're closed all day. read more

I grew up in Warren and have resided here my whole life. I am appalled at the way the city of Warren has treated people, especially at the Warren Community Center- used go frequently, but because of very strict rules, very rude personnel and very short hours, considering I work many hours (I am a nurse for over 35 years) I used to go there to relax, now I stress when I go there, most of the time I can't make it there because they changed the hours. I have been paying taxes to the city of Warren since I was 16 years old and started working here. I think it's time to hold people accountable. Was on hold 20 min. and then she literally told me if I didn't like her attitude then don't bother calling by phone. Then told me if I'm not a resident then I am not welcome there. Racist! I don't play the race card at all but every interaction I've had with this place the customer service has been horrible. The interactions I noticed with people who are of a lighter hue is vastly different! They need diversity training especially since the city of Warren has more diversity than before. It's sad that I get treated poorly solely due to the color of my skin. This behavior needs to stop. I hope a supervisor or politician in Warren who cares about race issues addresses this problem! I come to the center often, I love it my Grandson loves it, I'm reading complaints and i cant believe them. The life guards I've had are awesome i feel very comfortable with them; they have Never been rude and the Pool Director i wish i remembered his name is super nice. The pool is always warm but always pretty crowded. The staff tries a little to keep kids playing basketball from being so rowdy. Sometimes it's too much tho.. The ball should be taken away after so many times of telling them to settle down. The lazy river is freezing! But my son loves it For the little ones, the play part that dumps the big bucket of water, is awesome! It has slides and the water is knee length. I would give another star but the staff who is all teenagers just chat amongst themselves and do whatever they want. Three of the female workers shut down the lane in the big pool so THEY can do some laps 30 min BEFORE closing time. Most of them ARE NOT friendly. This place is a great place to take your family if you are resident in Warren for the price. If you are not a resident it is still a great place, but it could get expensive quick if you came here a lot. There are tons of activities for the whole family here, the pool being the most attractive. In the pool area, there is a water slide, jacuzzi, sauna, stem room, lazy river, and a splash zone. They also have a pretty decent gym, library, and the even host farmers markets in the summer. This place is great. I gave it four stars because they really need to add a rock wall. read more

I drove all the way here and i tried to get a one day pass they said they don't do that anymore because of covid so I told them fine, ill work with you guys gave me a one month pass they wanted my ID when i provided it they said they needed a physical copy because its the policy when all my info was there the two young girls were trying to help me and figure out a way but the older lady who had a sour face kept telling me no its their policy. read more

I first started coming here in 2015 with my roomate. It was cheap and right around the corner. Over the year ive been coming here, i've become more and more disappointed in how it's turned out. 1. The employees are rude and have zero clue on what is ever going on. (The older lady at the check in legit yelled at me and made me feel dumb for not signing in with her. In the year I've been going there ive never had to sign in at this desk, just in the locker room and the gym) 2. The staff allows children 14-16 play on the machines 3. Equipment is always needing repair and barly works. 4. Nothing against the elders, im glad your moving and getting your fitness on. The lifeguards there are super overwhelming. I know it is their job to keep everyone safe, so with that in mind i understand but literally we were the only two in the pool and I didn't leave my sons side. The woman was standing right over us the entire time making it super uncomfortable. There was no one else in the pool and she kept yelling at every single thing that we did. Then she made us leave after the 50 minutes was even though there was literally no one else in the pool or waiting. The center is mediocre at best...pool manager is very rude. I joined the center back in May. I am a resident and was never told I could have paid a membership fee for my 2 grandchildren, they are also residents, they saw me come everyday and continued to allow me to pay 10.00 a day for the pool for my grandchildren. That's what occurs when you have untrained customer services employees. I contacted the center to complain and of course nothing was resolved. The proper response should have been,"I apologize for the oversight I will look into this and perhaps offer you a free month pass" We appreciation your patronage... yeah right probably can't spell patronage. read more

I'm very disappointed in this place (library). Everyone is rude and Anal. You can't have drinks without a lid. Also, you can't eat in the library at all. I've been coming here since I was younger in middle school and now I'm in college. I never had a problem until now. I wasn't even eating just had a bag out and she came up to my friend and I, and said, "you can't eat in the library". What if I wasn't going to eat? What if I just wanted the bag out so my food isn't soggy? Honestly, that was so rude. You can't just assume I was gonna eat. I'd understand if I actually had food in my mouth but I didn't. Once, I had to call my mom to email me something. It literally took less then a minute. Within seconds the same lady told me "you can't use your phone in the library". I have utilized the Warren Rec Center as a gym and for fitness classes. This is a laid-back environment if you want to start or continue a fitness program. They have multiple treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes; along with a decent supply of weight machines/free weights. In addition, there is a nice outdoor track, multiple soccer fields, and kid/adult pool. It can get a bit crowded in the fitness/pool areas, but overall it is one of the nicer city facilities I have seen. If you live or work in Warren it is also a very affordable option compared to larger gyms/fitness centers. read more

I wish I had a community center as nice as this near my house in NY. . . . Out visiting family and wanted to work out / swim a little to stay active. They offer $10 non-resident guest passes, $5 resident guest passes. The fitness area has 10 or so treadmills, 10 or so ellipticals, exercise bikes, weights, etc. Everything you could ever need to get a good work out in. The area is very clean - brand new carpet and lots of TVs. Machines are all new and have lots of good functions. Locker rooms - don't forget to bring your lock! Really clean - curtained individual shower areas and restrooms. Pool area has a fun water castle play area for kids and a water slide. There is also a large pool area where they have classes, and several lanes for lap swimming. Everything is very clean and well kept. The place was good , but the reason I give one star because the front desk lady , I forget my driver's license but I do have my military Id and resident card which are gov issue value ID . She but she could not give me resident price and yell at me . I told her I can pay full price which is 12 . It is not big deal and she continued yell at me and with very bad attitude. My wife and I packed up my daughters snacks, towels, etc.. and went to go try to sign up at the this center, it was my daughters first birthday! We were so excited to use the indoor water park. They asked and looked at our address on my ID and told us that we can't use it because we aren't Warren residents "per the director" or should I say I wasn't a resident because my identification was from California but my lease and every other documentation that I brought with me that they had me as a resident of Warren with the address tied to my name legally. The women manager, all were acting; disgusting, rude, and unhelpful, without any respect or compassion towards me or my child/wife especially knowing that it was my daughters 1st birthday we were denied three times out of the year every time we brought the right documentation in order to be members of the community center but every time we were completely shut down! They kept Using the phrase we do not want or welcome outsiders felt very prejudice and also discriminating and embarrassing to constantly hear this from them like if they didn't want us there or want nothing to do with us again we went through this three times every time we're denied the Director of operations does not care at all! even worse he looked at my lease agreement and said you have until July to be at the community center then you have to either leave or shows proof you still live in Warren like he's trying to get rid of me and my family immediately really upsetting I've never felt this way that one business has treated us this way they just kept making us feel like we weren't wanted or even allowed to be here again I'm not sure if it had to do with the color of our skin but my wife is Filipino and I myself Mexican, We are great members of the community my wife is a correctional officer in the state penitentiary also myself a surgical assistant to one of the most Prestigious doctors here in Detroit. We didn't look like any bums off the street but again thinking if I was going to get in contact with the director of business he could sympathize and understand where my family and I were coming from but unfortunately we were met with the complete opposite feeling he himself kept referring to being a member of Warren and trying to make sure that we were and show proof I showed this man everything I possibly could to be a member and a resident of Warren but still was not good enough for him he still had to say at the end well you have about six months here left After that you have to leave or show proof that you renew your lease like this was the worst experience again I feel like I'm repeating myself but again do not feel welcomed at all we were so happy ready to go into the water park with my daughter on her first birthday and just take photos as a family but was met with the complete opposite feeling left on happy and sad read more

Review for the pool area... I can't get my son to leave, and that makes this place worth it. The life guards walk around like sentinels or the secret service by the kiddie pool area which is nice. Water is generally pretty warm, a little colder in the kiddie pool. The water jets on the wet playground are a little too strong (think focused firehose in some spots) and my 3 yo is afraid to go through them. It's a little on the expensive side for non-members and they don't allow outside food/drink. Edit: Added another star. The jets on the playground area are still crazy strong and my son won't go through them (seems like mostly older kids brave the pressure and overwhelming spray). Adding the extra star since subsequent visits has turned this place into a common fun day with the kiddos. read more

I am a Warren resident and try to encourage as many people as I can to visit our Community Center because it has a lot to offer. I will NO LONGER suggest or recommend anyone come here. We had a bday party and the host in the room did a great job and helped immensely. Multiple instances of miscommunication. The party planner/host said it would be okay for the people who were not swimming to sit on the outer edge of the room with shoes on. After sitting there for 90 minutes a teen lifeguard came up to one of our guests telling him to take off his shoes or leave. His tone was rude, disrespectful and he was on a power trip. I'm not sure what management looks like at this center but if I had to guess there is none. When asking a clarifying question the teen lifeguard began raising his voice at my sister who was trying to point out the disconnect in communication. It is unfortunate that the staff ruined what would've been a great birthday party. read more

They have a really nice hot tub and two really nice saunas I really enjoy they're cedar wood sauna the place can be very relaxing especially later in the night when there is no kids the staff is very friendly and always helpful they are very attentive to the kids the lifeguards are always watching them especially in the kiddy pool which is good they have a really good gym and they have good size pool another nice thing about the pool is they have a basketball hoop and a couple basketballs the place is also very clean all the time they have high maintenance this is a very good place to go swim/relax at its even good to go during all seasons if your looking into this place you should go out will enjoy it. read more

I'm usually here 6/7 days in the week to use the fitness center. The equipment is always clean and well-maintained, but the carpet is ripped in several places where heavy weights are dropped on them. They should consider fixing this soon, as people can easily trip over it. The people at the counter are always nice and cheerful, and this is greatly appreciated. The pool and sauna areas are also quite clean and well-maintained, although the hot tub kind of gets gross with some brown stains in the foam. So I'd recommend coming to use the hot tub when it's not busy, lest you be the victim of someone else's uncleanliness. read more

The Warren Community Center is a good bargain and can really be decent at times. The gym and fitness areas are above par with other city run places and can really be helpful. The pool and water play areas can get really crowded and irritating fairly fast with irresponsible parents and children. I go to the center once every few weeks and I was there as recent as last Sunday. There were dumb kids running around on the edges of the water play areas - one kid was dumb enough to exit through the lazy river edge into the slide splashdown pool. It caused the slide to shut down for five minutes as he found his way out. It's an ok place - but expect dumb people on weekends. IF you go during the week it is much more tolerable (4 stars weekdays, 3 star weekends). read more

Loved everything about the place. They have a steam room, sauna, fitness center, locker room. One thing they were lacking is in the employee department. Every time you ask an employee for help, it's as if they don't want to be there. I never seen any of the employees smile once. I personally made a membership and canceled it do to this reason. Use to be a nice place but the crowd coming in there now is starting to take it's toll on the pool area. Too much of the "thug" type there now. Don't see it lasting a couple more years at the current pace. Very disappointing but typical for Detroit suburb once news get out of something nice. I use to buy yearly passes for my family. I always say this place is a gold mine that not many people know about. I do not live in Warren so I buy the matinee yearly pass. I go early in the morning 3 days a week and have no complaints. I wish every city had such a nice place to exercise in a gym and in a pool at such an affordable rate. If I had any complaint at all it would be the people that come on the weekends to take care of this nice place and don't take offense if you are not the people I'm talking about. I always come here with the kids, for the pool. It's a really great place. It's lots of fun. It's clean. The water slide is awesome. They also serve refreshments. The prices are decent. I especially love that they have several lifeguards on duty, which keep a very close eye on things, which is wonderful. Good customer service, friendly staff. Clean locker rooms. I'd like to make a suggestion. I'd like to suggest a locker room attendant for each of the male and female locker rooms. I'm not comfortable with naked adults being around children. I think it's rather disgusting and disturbing. I really think there should be a locker room attendant at all times, just to be safe. read more

The water park is an Awesome place for active kids! Lots of different activities to keep them busy. I have 3 boys from 12 to 7. They can run and play all day. The noise level is managed well because of the huge room and and the water noise. For residents the price is only $5 each. read more
