I stopped in to get my fluids checked and to get an oil change just to clear my mind for an upcoming road trip and what I was met with was the warmest group of guys imaginable. The oil change I received was on par with my expectations, but the service kinda blew me away. I found myself in a deep conversation about life with the assistant Wood (owner and also veteranhad in the shop that day and since it was hot Wood offered me a bottle of water. When I asked him later how much he declined to make money because he said it was too hot outside for me not to drink it..... wait what? You mean to tell me that I came in for a simple service and you not only did not try to upsell me or gouge me on the price of the change, but you gave me free water?... Where have you been all my life? He suggested a few mods to my bike from admiration and not from (where is my next dollar coming from) this right here is how you keep a customer. I will be back for some bike mods in the near future. This guy is the truth. I would say this is the mom & pop shop you have been looking for for that tailored customer service experience.

So, I took it to a REAL mechanic who in turn sent me pics of a completely UNTOUCHED carb. And, on top of that he kept my bag of jets! The entire time he talked he complained about everybody bringing "all these old bikes in for me to work on". Wah, wah, wah. Take "custom " off the sign then, dipshit!!! This guy is a liar, a thief, and most definitely NOT A CUSTOM mechanic. Don't expect him or his creepy "wife" to be in business for very long.

Asked them if it would be done before April 23 so I can go to Men & Women How Like To Ride in Ocean City because if not I wasn't going to rent this house. They told me it would be so go ahead and rent the house. When close to that time came I went to check on bike and absolutely nothing was done to bike except my switches for airride was ran from handlebars. So I lost money on the house I rented that cost me $400.So middle of May comes and I walk in and the y just had my front wheel on bike without the airride wired up or nothing done from previous visits. So while there I walk to my bike and Debbie who works there comes back to where I was with bike and I ask if the airride is installed. She gets smart with me and says the wheel is on the bike so push it the hell up outta here. With that being said I walked out of there shop and go get a trailer to come get my bike and my parts that I brought. So they loss my Sony 7000 keep my wiring that I payed $500 for.I bought a Soudigital 2400 amp from them.So took my bike Big Woods Customs and had everything done there. While hooking up everything the amp that I had bought from them was bad.So I call them and they told me to bring it and they will send out to get fixed,no not give me a new amp but to get fixed. So now they have a Sony 7000 that was on back order for week so I had to use a used Sony 5000 out of a display and they have my amp.So I take them to court. They tell judge that they did most of the work and that they found my Sony 7000 under there couch,by the way when I was there to pick up parts Debbie and I looked all around the couch and under it so that was BS they used it on another bike that was at his shop but didnt know that they were on back order. They written up invoices showing parts that they credited me that I never ever heard of.They also told judge that they refunded/credited me for my amp that they told me they were sending back to get fixed and had phony invoices for that as well.So besides me losing $2900 on work being done on bike, they also got me for $400 from my house rental and also got me for my amp.BASICALLY is wasn't about the money.ITS ABOUT GETTING RIPPED OFF BY THESE SHADY SHOP LIKE PETE'S CUSTOM CYCLES.And believe me that every event I go to I am going to tell whoever and might even get some Tshirts made letting people know about that shady shop.RIP OFF ARTISTS AT ITS BEST.

I'm a long time customer (since 2000) of both Bayside and Southside HD. Bought 2 new bikes from…read moreeach of them and I am particular about service. When it comes to sales, there's no real difference between dealers, what sets one apart from the other is post-sale follow-up and service. To make a long review short(er), I bought my last Harley from Bayside because they could get it in a reasonable time. On delivery, the mechanic (a true wrench) took the time to explain everything and made some adjustments and installed a lot of additional parts I wanted. Each step of the way, I trusted his advice and solid craftsmanship in taking care of my bike. A good man! The Service Dept "customer facing staff", was not quite such a great experience, seeming aloof and certainly knew more about the customer and what they wanted than the customer. As with many others (including the mechanic) had done, I left for another dealer. Fast forward to today. All three HD dealers in SE Virginia have been consolidated into one, at the old Bayside HD location. Needing service I stopped by to schedule it in person. The new dealership, Ironclad HD, was an exercise in organized chaos and cat herding. Trying to combine the inventory and customer base of three dealers in the region is no small feat. But, I found that the initial "meet and greet" with the service staff was professional and as good as could be expected. I scheduled an appointment for a routine oil change and was glad to see they honored the pre-paid maintenance agreement I had when I purchased the bike. So I bring it in for service this morning and found the disarray of a couple weeks ago was lessened, but the service staff seemed very positive still. Also found out that my favorite mechanic had returned. Bonus. My low expectations for the experience were shattered! From initial check-in to walking out the door at the end, communication with the service writer, Vegas was timely and on point all the way. Now granted, this was a simple routine maintenance visit but if I got treated like this every time, that's a thousand-fold improvement over the previous service staff. Bravo Zulu (as we say in the Navy) Vegas and the Ironclad staff, you've brought at least one customer back. Just please, PLEASE do something with your customer waiting area. That was the most spartan, uncomfortable experience since I had to hot-rack on an FFG-7........ Of course, Ludacris blaring as background music wasn't the most enjoyable either. Just one old white guys opinion....... Looking forward to future visits.

Service was completed, but man was it ever a hassle…read more It took Redline almost a month to complete a simple recall service. I was shined on about if the parts had been ordered and when the order was placed, when the parts were received, etc. Yes, I realize the pandemic-induced supply chain problems are not 100% behind us, but when you're booking recall appointments 8 WEEKS out, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the parts to be on hand (or AT LEAST) ordered by the time the bike is dropped off. I have a hard time believing it took 11+ weeks for a part known to be in stock at the manufacturer to reach a dealership in the same country. When I dropped the bike off, they had the opportunity to tell me right then they didn't have the required parts in stock (despite knowing for 8 WEEKS when I would be dropping off my bike). They did not do this. I had to call (three times over the next three-plus weeks) to get any information, and I was never even informed when my bike was finally ready. I just showed up one day, hoping it would be done after a prior conversation in which I was told "Oh, I think the tech is probably going to put it back together today." This apparently came from one of the service department managers, who clearly doesn't know what his team is doing. I will say the work they did was done competently, that's not my complaint, it's the timeline and the utter lack of communication or information. That's not a technician problem, that's a management problem. I was also ignored by the GM, or at least the clerk at the main desk when I left my name and number and asked to speak to the GM. That's poor customer service right there. I also contacted the dealership through Facebook, and though they promised to call me, I have yet to hear from them. After I started posting this negative review (Google, Facebook, Yelp), their Operations Manager Byron Hager reached out to me via a no-reply email address asking ONCE AGAIN for my phone number, which is 100% definitely in their system. Every interaction is an opportunity for a sale. I'm ready for a different bike, but given my experience with Redline's service department, I'll be going elsewhere to buy. The customer may not always be right, but the customer definitely deserves better treatment than I received at Redline, especially for something as simple as a recall service.
