We made the poppy mosaic offer from Groupon. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon. The pretty much set ya up and off you went placing your chips of tiles. The only improvement I saw was that I wish it were clearer you have to leave the piece there to be grouted for a few days. We are from Vegas so they gave us verbal direction on how to grout ourselves. Overall it was a fun time and the lady helping was very nice.

I don't have any details on price or planning as I was invited here for a work team building event, but man we had a blast! Our event was scheduled for 3 hours and we took over the entire studio with our group of 15. Two long tables filled with broken glass of all colors, glue, and heavy cardboards. In the room next door, a local caterer had prepared for us a nice spread of wraps, salad, soup and dessert. It was truly a lovely experience. I was a bit late to the event so I didn't get the full run down but the owner (I presume) caught me up quick. Create a design of my choice, keep the tiles close to one another, tile all the way to the edge, keep the edges straight. After a moment of sheer overwhelm, I decided to Google mosaics online and I found a ton of different designs! I landed on a chicken. It was so much fun to sort the glass scraps, find the right pieces, and lay them on my tile in just the right manner. Post class, we left all our designs at the studio for them to grout for us and we will pick them up soon. Can't wait. Such a fun afternoon and a great place to get your creative on!

I love this little art studio and can't wait to take more classes here! I participated in a Dutch…read morePour Class (offered through Artown) and had so much fun making a set of coasters. The class size was perfect for this activity, allowing for the teacher to adequately share instructions, demonstrate the process, and work one-on-one with students as needed. The instructions were organized on a print out with all the materials and supplies needed to replicate the activity at home and referenced during the instruction portion of the class. The materials for the class were well-maintained and organized at each place setting for each student. I've taken other art classes elsewhere and I felt like this was a step above with regard to organization, instruction, and take away materials. I loved the experience so much that I'm going to take another class in October, and this time I'm bringing a friend! In addition to the art classes and studio, Copper Cat also has a delightful little art/gift shop with items made from the artists in studio. Most are in the front shop, but some pieces are scattered throughout. Take your time looking at all the wonderful pieces... so many great art gems for sale at very affordable prices. This little shop is now on my go-to for gift shopping.

I'm not a mosaic or stained glass artist, but even to my eyes, the supply they carry looked amazing. Also local artists' works (including the owner Katie's) throughout; perfect for gift shopping. My super-fun SIL and I love to get crafty together, so by sheer luck (or fate, if you will) I happened upon a Super Sunday promo and booked us both for a belated Galentine's night out! First, let me say that boss lady Sydney is absolutely the life of the party! She graciously accommodated a customization request for SIL and both our projects came out great! The workshops are quick, unique, and extra fun thanks to sassy Sydney! If you've been there, done that to the canvas paint & sip places, switch it up and come get hammered at Hammer & Stain!

I was terrified the whole time that my piece would turn out awful! But the staff walks you through it and makes sure that you're doing everything correctly. I liked seeing how differently everyone's piece turned out. Thats what set it apart from other activities like a paint and sip. You're able to personalize it, so no one walks out with the same picture. You also can use power tools! What's more fun than that!? The staff was so friendly even when our group got a little rowdy. They helped me figure out color schemes and even brought out the glitter! Definitely want to go again.

I thought it was a computer ink store. This weekend I was walking next to the storefront and some artwork caught my eye. So I decided to go in and get a closer look at the art. Now I have discovered there is much more to this space. I met the owner, Hunter, who explained the concept. One, the business copies and reproduces pieces for artists who want to sell their work or keep copies of their one of a kind artwork. Seems no almost no job is too big. He offers digital services, in house custom framing, photo reproductions, and fine art canvas & giclée printing. Two, the wall space acts as a small gallery. I had missed the opening night of Moon Cakes & Hungry Gods by local artist Carline Young. Three, there is a small retail space for select artists to sell in. For this space there is an online application to submit for consideration. There is a "to go" spot on Thoma for quick pick ups. As well as parking on Thoma and inside the Stix complex. Take a few minutes and checkout the always changing art displays and products for sale.
