My friends and I came here Saturday night and had a blast! We hadn't been "out" in such a long time and this club was poppin. There was a $10 cover, but it was totally worth it! Drinks were about $10 and very good. I got a vodka cranberry and it was yummy, not too strong and the bartender was doing lots of cool tricks and twirling the bottles around as he prepared the cocktails which was entertaining to watch! There were only 2 bartenders so the lines to get drinks were pretty long. There was also only one bathroom so those lines were long too. There was Latin music, that attracted us into the club as we were looking for somewhere fun. The DJ was pretty good, but not the best and didn't drop the beat at times. There's an upstairs and downstairs and cool bubble lights that moved up and down. There was a nightlife photographer there who took our photo and said it to us for free minutes later! Good DJing. Drinks are on the pricier side, but good quality. My main knock on this place is the bathroom situation downstairs. Only one bathroom for 40+ people drinking diuretics (i.e. booze)? If you're here when things get busy around midnight, don't be surprised if you're waiting 15 minutes for you or your friend to get through the long line to use the one bathroom available to you. read more

I honestly did not expect to be here, but I saw it on the way to Voodoo Doughnut (they're just across from each other). They had a sign that said orange cream cold brew, which caught my eye. I tried it and fell in love with the drink. I normally only drink cold brew when I need to because I think it's too bitter. Their orange version was more enjoyable. I'd come back to get it again! They do cocktails at night, so I think it'd be worth a try to come later in the day for drinks. read more

The vibe here is more cosmopolitan lounge than many of Portland's run-of-the-mill hipster bars that are overrun with bearded lumberjack wannabes. This is a good thing. The new owner did a great job revamping the dark and cavern-like former Via Tribunali into an elegant space to chill. The DJ at the time, who is also the owner was playing a really good variety of music with a nice mix of international tunes included. Portland is seriously lacking in the international club/lounge scene. Although this lovely space is not per se an international lounge, it is a more interesting option than some of the usual bars around. The bartenders and the owner were all very personable and we really enjoyed our time there. Fuse Bar is also the same owner as SuBe Sushi and sushi is available in Fuse Bar up until 10 PM. It's in a super cool location right at the beginning of Ankeny Alley near lots of other fun nightlife. I've been to a lot of clubs & a lot of bars. The security here is super sweet and they definitely do an amazing job, especially given the location. Everyone seems to have a really good time here on Friday night. However, $15 for a basic drink is just too much. There's a $10 cover fee and the upstairs wasn't open so everyone was just packed into a very small space. Portland doesn't really have a club scene so you might as well try this place out. I can't complain too much about it other than it's overpriced for what you get. Pros: It's nice inside, good atmosphere, security is welcoming. I wish I was as smart as the owner of Fuse. You don't often see a business with almost nothing wrong with it. First, the overall structure. This building was built in 1875. Many businesses have inhabited this space, of course, but I truly admire the space usage here. There's the coffee counter on one side which is in use most of the time. The cocktail bar is on the other side. A DJ stand is next to it. Fuse is a cocktail bar on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. All the seating is very attractive and intimate on the first and second floors. The flooring is rehabilitated original wood. The sound system is excellent for background music during the day as well. One of the best features is a very sleek white-tiled pizza oven which is shared with the owner's sushi restaurant next door. Interior decoration manages to be sleek and sexy modern while hanging on to its Pacific Northwest roots. This part of town has had a pretty rough history now and then, but it feels very safe now. My barista was a very knowledgeable young woman who had an excellent grasp of Portland history even though she is from Montana. The Americano I ordered was excellent. I saw no baked goods for sale. My barista and I continued to chat throughout my visit, and a local police officer, who used a Segway, dropped in to chat. This is a very hospitable spot with an "everybody is welcome" feel. As an aside, the bathroom is scrupulously clean. Wi-fi connection is excellent and free. If you get a chance to stop by for either coffee or a cocktail, do so. Where do I start. It's a $20 entry fee and their drinks are around the same amount. The atmosphere is good but just a little overpriced and lots of people (especially not wearing masks). Not the best location since it's in Chinatown and there's not great public transport during the early early morning as well as many folks around the area who are houseless. (with shelters at max capacity people are sleeping on sidewalks or sometimes using illicit substances instead of sleeping adding risk to themselves and those around them.) just make sure to have a party partner! read more

Honestly wish I could give 10 stars! It was the night of my 21st birthday, I was out with my mother and her friends (who are late 30's and early 40's) + a group of my 21 year old friends. It was 12:30 and I am legally 21. For some reason the club "Fortune" doesn't allow people who turn 21 the night of, it has to be a full 24 hours. So they refused to let me in pretty rudely. Ended up going across the street to FUSE and they let my whole group in for FREE. We pretty much spent the rest of the night there. P.S. Idk if the "Fortune" bouncer saw, but the bouncer at Fuse and I flipped Fortune off. Shout out to the bouncer and awesome service at Fuse. Not only welcoming, but a great safe atmosphere. ONLY issue which is why I have 3 stars was the spacing... the upstairs was closed which made it difficult to use the restroom! The line was LONG. For just one restroom downstairs. Wonderful place! I was visiting Portland so I asked the Uber driver for a good night club, she recommended a couple. We decided to go to Fuse because it was Latin night. We had too much fun, first of all, the staff is very nice, cover was 10$ cash per person but we only had 13$, they let us got in for that. My new favorite coffee shop! I work nearby which is what got me hooked. Now, even on my days off I'll make the 20 minute drive and endure the struggle of parking just for a cup. It's that good. The interior decor is beautiful. So much more class and taste than a lot of the other spots in Portland. Reminds me of the coffee shops you see in movies or tv shows. Went in for the Speakeasy Went into their speakeasy called SIP (somewhere in Portland). Go in next door to Fuse and you can get in via a Pepsi vending machine. Super wild. The drinks are good. The sour mix is fantastic and depending on who makes it, its actually sour (hand made) This place is young and the new comer to the block. However, compared to its neighbors, it sweeps. Wish they wouldn't use plastic cups. At least use compostable cups for Saturdays when you dont want to hand out glass (or allow bartenders to serve in a vessel at their discretion for old heads who showed up before the rush). read more

Decided to give this spot a second chance after the owner messaged me apologizing for the previous incident. He seemed genuine in his apology and my friend that experienced this previous incident was going to be in town so we decided to test the waters. Last night was one of the best night ever at Fuse. This was the hottest spot in town for Cinco De Mayo weekend. Amazing crowd, bomb drinks and two fully stocked bars to serve guests. My partner and I went here on a whim and had an amazing time! The cocktail waitress was very attentive and friendly and I thought the utility of the space was well designed. They managed to fit a DJ booth, dance floor, couches and tables in a super small space. I haven't been here during the day for coffee but I can't wait to try. Love the atmosphere here. The drink selections are good, but where this really wins is in the aesthetic and with the secondary room hidden behind a soda machine. The barista was RUDE as she told me I had to purchase coffee to sit in the chairs or use the bathroom, as I stood there reading the menu and holding my credit card. The coffee here is on point. The mocha is superb and the seasonal specials are amazing. The spiced orange latte (orange spice, perfectly pulled espresso, and creamy steamed milk topped with a slice of orange zest) was the bomb. The lavender white mocha is lovely too. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. We had taken the train in from Seattle, and had wandered Portland for awhile. This place is great because of its location right near VooDoo. VooDoo brings in the crowd and they want good coffee after. Or in our case, a good spot to use a restaurant and get a coffee before going to the Saturday Market. I got a small mocha. It tasted funny, and was more foam than coffee. I was unimpressed. Add to that, the fact the bathroom was clearly very well used and pretty stinky. Mission fail. The reason I still give this place 2 stars is because they have a cute thing going. There's lots of spaces for intimate conversations and meeting up to talk with an old friend. The baristas were kind and efficient, too, which made our experience at least nice on that side of things. Perhaps coming back with more time to chill and enjoy would give them more credit.
