It's not every day that a business owner reaches out directly to a customer to personally thank them. I really love the honest and open approach on social media to engage your customers to understand your target audience and what they want. Lenses first: I've ordered replacement lenses for my Oakley Chain links and Oakley Holbrooks x 2. I started with the preferred polarized lenses and was impressed. So I stepped up to a replacement set of Amp Glaciers and really loved those, too! Sunglasses next: Quality lenses are important to me, and the fuse replacement lenses were awesome, so I decided to really give them a try and ordered some sunglasses to take with me on a family vacation. I've always been a fan of nice sunglasses, but never really treated myself. I have always been a fan of the Oakley Tombstones for shooting, split shots for fishing, Holbrooks and contrails for everyday use. I also love old school Rayban aviators, so I decided to try out the Fuse Sanibel frames with different lenses. The fit and comfort rivals the aviators, although the hinge movement is less crisp. That isn't an issue since they are usually on my face and not in my hands. I must have 7 different pairs of Fuses now, and just ordered four more to try out the different frame styles. Sanibel, Largo, and now the coppitt, egmont, and anclotes on order. Accessories: While I was at it, I ordered quite a few cable sunglass grips to try out. My family really loves roller coasters, and so what better place to test them out them at Busch Gardens' Iron Gwazi! Anti-Fog cleaner is pocket sized, like a thick business card, and drops right in my pocket wherever I go. Customer service: has been excellent. It's important to be patient and remember that CS is doing their best, however frustrating a situation may be as a consumer. I remember early on, one of my sanibels got mangled in shipping and CS had a replacement out the same week. No questions asked. I recently ordered Anclotes for yardwork, and had a small issue with the frame/lenses and reached out to Fuses' customer service. Again, no questions asked, and they gave me reassurance that the replacement set would be perfect. I really loved that engagement. Ordered a pair of replacement lenses for Oliver Peoples sunglasses and reached out to customer service in advance to ensure I chose the right size. A week later and about $50 out of pocket, I received the plastic lenses and they did not fit. Way too small. Also, the instructions via YouTube to swap out the lenses did not work for me, despite warming the frames several times and spending 30+ minutes attempting to do this myself. Finally had to take to an optician to put the lenses in. Sadly, they wouldn't even stay in since they were too small for the frames. Had to print a label, drop off at UPS and return. I came across Fuse Lenses because I was looking for a service that polarizes lenses because I had recently purchased a sunglasses frame and sadly, the lenses that came in the frame were not polarized. After some digging, I came across Fuse Lenses. I got the custom lenses with the concierge service, meaning that they shipped me a prepaid box to mail my sunglasses back to them. Then, they sent me my finished sunglasses with the new polarized lenses inside. They also included my original lenses. I have to say that I was initially hesitant to send my newly purchased sunglasses away, and I questioned the quality of the lenses. I ordered a pair of replacement lenses for my Oakley Flak Jackets but when they arrived the lenses didn't fit the frames. I immediately contacted customer support at Fuse and they were a delight to deal with. They were quick to offer me solutions including custom measuring my frames to ensure that the new lenses would fit. So I sent them back my frames and within a few days I had both my frames and my lenses back all nice and snugly fit. Oh and did I mention the packaging? How nice everything came in microfiber pouches with plastic covering the lenses. And well packed so no damage would occur to my frames. I was highly impressed with everything they did. Because of doing a bulk order, they gave me a great discount! My Pradas are better than new with new lenses and new nose pads! I ordered lenses in March. I had to call and ask where the prepaid box I paid for was. I received an apology and assurance that all haste would be given my order. It wasn't. When I received my order the lenses held no prescription. I called to say I couldn't place blame but I had filled out the Rx and PD info, so I'm not sure- maybe timed out? I got email from zach telling me to email my RX. I did immediately. I expected I hear back when they crunched the numbers. They emailed and asked for the Rx again. I sent it giving my phone and email so they could confirm cost. Never heard back. Twice more I nudged them... all I got were ads. I didn't expect them to give me anything free- I did ask if they would consider the cost of the unusable pair they sent in pricing the replacement lenses. Never a reply. Recently I discovered a very cool business in north Clearwater up on Belcher Rd. Fuse Lenses (aka EyECandy) is a custom replacement lens shop that can offer custom cuts for virtually any frame out there. They also stock many existing replacement lenses for name brand sunglasses like Spy Optic, Oakley, Hoven and Costa Del Mar. They have a wide selection ranging from subtle with a light tint, to in-your-face coated lenses that are really eye catching in all different colors polarized or not. All of this can be viewed and discussed with their staff in a nice show room featuring a nice selection of not just lenses, but actual sunglasses, shirts, hats, and other swag. The customer service and staff are super friendly and helpful, and I've happily upgraded four pairs of sunglasses with their custom lenses. Two of them name brand frames, and two off-brand frames that required custom cuts. They all turned out great! They are currently running a 20% off special that really makes it an affordable venture and all include a warranty in case things go awry. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to upgrade a low quality lens, wanting to bring an old pair of sunglasses back to life, or to just change things up with a different look. The Good: -The lenses Fit in my Revo Thrive frames as they should -they are inexpensive The Bad: - the lenses always had slight distortion when you look through them - the Semi Mirrored lens coating wears off very easily to the point where you cant see. It was about 8 months before I could not wear them anymore. I popped the lenses out of the frames. See the pic. Granted I did put a few minor scratches on them, but you can see how it just wears off. I am kind of shocked to see a Yelp rating of only 2.5 stars based on only 3 reviews (also shocked there's only 3 reviews WTF?!). In my view (review), that is completely bizarre. I bought two pairs of lenses - one for an Oakley frame with a more traditional style that went all the way around, the other for the Flak Jacket XLJ. The ones for the traditional frame popped right in, no problems. That said, the lenses just feel weird to the eyes - I suspect it's some kind of distortion that I just can't quite put my finger on. The curvature of the original lens does NOT match the new ones, so this is probably why. The much more concerning problem however was the Flak Jacket lenses. Unfortunately, they simply can't seem to make a lens that fits these frames. The lenses just kept popping out no matter what I did with them. The company DID send me a replacement pair, but with almost exactly the same issues as the first pair did - despite describing clearly to them what the problem was. The second pair's curvature fit better - like the other set, they seem like they're not designed to match the curve of the originals - but they still wouldn't stay in. The problem is in the hook design that Oakley uses for the bottomless frame design - they're not cut in the same way. This means that they'll just never stay in. I gave them two stars because they tried to fix the problem, they supply a nice case for the lenses with a freebie sock for the glasses, but they're selling a product they haven't done a whole lot of testing on. If you buy from them, buy only for glasses that have a traditional frame, and don't expect the world from them. read more
