My mom and i shared a 12 oz Ribeye meal and a side of green chilie. It was very good! It was a very cute little restaurant and it had a patio that i'm pretty sure has more tables in the summer. And cute Bears everywhere. Our server was nice and super cute with my mom. I would most certainly go again. read more

First and last time there. I'd been wanting to go for months. Went on a Saturday morning at 9 am the place was surprisingly not busy at all. First surprise was the dark roast coffee, not really the norm for a typical breakfast place and didn't necessarily match the taste buds of the 4 of us in our party. It was almost like there was a creamer shortage as our server would only give us one small not even 4 oz thing of cream. Our order took over 30 minutes which is wild considering there were only 3 tables. I ordered Biscuits and Gravy, the biscuits were inedible. Our serves failed to check back with us for over 25 minutes at that point I couldn't order anything else. They took a whole $4 off my order even though it was completely inedible. The only reason I'm giving them two stars is because my friend liked the Monte Cristo Sandwich. read more

The Funky Bear provided a fantastic dinner. The menu primarily explores familiar territory. The food was outstanding. I love to cook and have often claimed I make the best burgers on earth. RONG! Funky Bear serves the best burger. In the future, I can only claim the second-best burger. Funky Bear's Shroom (and Swiss) burger was a fantastic surprise. My wife had the Prime rib special and was utterly delighted by it. The team service here was highly effective and more than pleasant. Inside the restaurant, the "Funky Bear" theme was friendly , funny and tasteful. I look forward to eating there again. You expect very little from rural restaurants in Western Colorado. The Funky Bear would do well in Denver and maybe even New York City. read more

This little place has recently opened here in Battlement Mesa Next to clarks market. I stopped in on my day off to try their wears. I ordered the burger When it arrived it was fresh hot ample in size and full of juicy goodness. The veggies were crisp .the fries were equally good seasoned and cooked perfectly. Yummy. The service was good stuff was friendly, attentive and professional. They had the NFL channel on the game large screen can be see through out the resturant. The atmosphere was warm and inviting with a small outdoor area for enjoying your meal or drinks outside. A great place for any occasion. The Funky bear. With a waitress sporting a cat tail and cat ears, and nobody else in the restaurant, we took a booth with some trepidation. Ordered coffee and told we had to wait for it to brew...ok. Our group ordered different breakfast items and were amazed at what came out. My smothered green chili eggs were a sophisticated blend of heat and sweet, with scratch made evident in every bite. Rave between bites for the skillet and biscuits as well. This place is hard to find and a bit far off the highway but worth it - best breakfast I've ever had I think. read more

Came here for dinner with the family on Thursday. Not to crowded but not empty either, really digging the whole psychedelic bear atmosphere. We all started off with a "funky mule" from the bar which we all thought was top notch. I ordered the grilled cheese bites appetizer. Highly recommended, basically mozzarella stick bites but the tomato bisque you dip them in was to die for 5/5 on those. I had the Cesar salad with chicken which was delicious. Everyone one else had burgers and the fried chicken sandwich which was also very good. I've heard good things about the breakfast but haven't tried it. Highly recommend checking this place out if your in the area. Shout out to Leo for being a great server, super attentive and really nice! read more

The funky Bear caught me by surprise, but I've been there four times by now, and every time the food is excellent and the prices are fair. I suspect the cook is really a chef in disguise because the food preparation is excellent, and it delights the eye before it pleases the palate. This is a good restaurant and bar if you are near Battlement Mesa. read more

We moved to the area a year ago, and we were a little worried about what restaurants were available. However, the moment we found Funky Bear we LOVED it. The food has been delicious, the service is great whether we are dining in or getting takeout, and the atmosphere is fun. If you live in Parachute or are just driving through, you should absolutely consider stopping here. read more

We were lucky enough to be in a Parachute a couple of weeks ago. I found the Funky Bear online and with the help of GPS we drove right to it. This place is not right by the exit but it is worth the 3-4 min drive.. You will need GPS tho. The menu has a few tempting items on it. We chose the Braised Short Ribs Mac n Cheese and Bison Meatloaf. They were both really amazingly delicious! The meat on the short rib was so tender it literally fell off the bone and the mac n cheese was very creamy! The meatloaf was flavorful and the sauce over it was fabulous! There were full garlic cloves cooked into the mashed potatoes! That adds so much flavor! Roasted garlic is the best! Oh, and fried brussels sprouts! The only way I've ever had brussels sprouts where I actually liked them ok. Our waitress was welcoming and very helpful. She was quick and checked in regularly. We didn't really need a lot of extra stuff so didn't put her to the test. Also I must mention the young man who was there playing guitar and singing. He was quite good and added a special element to the ambiance that piped in music can never provide. I cannot recommend The Funky Bear more! I'm SO glad we didn't go thru a fast food place closer to the exit! read more

Ordered online for pickup. Sloppy Bear Burger served open-faced, smothered w/Green Chili, Pepper Jack Cheese & pickled Jalapenos. $18 + tax & tip = $25. After an hour of waiting for an email, I called to see if my order was ready. They said not yet, but come in 15-20 minutes. I got there, picked up my order, took it out to car and checked it. I had received a regular burger with fries. Went back inside and the 'cook'? said the chili was under the lettuce. I said that little bit of green chili did not constitute 'Smothered'! His response was "well, we're nearly out of the chili and had to scrape the pot to get that little bit." My response is "you shouldn't have sold me a smothered burger if you couldn't produce." His response was "I'll make a note of your name and give you a 15% discount next time you order". And the extra $2 for the smothered burger....a lesson for me to take my business elsewhere in the future. He was not at all apologetic about any of it. Note: the fries were very good, although cold by the time I got to eat them. read more
